Hotel Kangetsuso was very friendly and comfortable and exceeded my expectations for the price. I would recommend it. The reception staff were very friendly. We were greeted with complimentary coffee sachets and free sample cosmetics as a welcome gift. The room was simple but had everything we needed and more, with shampoo and slippers and bathrobes (we had an en suite double room). Water pressure was good in the shower. Location was excellent being immediately opposite an Ueno station exit, very easy to get to from Narita airport.

The neighbouring building, which our window faced, was being demolished (this was in April 2025). This caused some noise disturbance in the mornings.

Recommended for budget accommodation around Ueno. Easy access to Keisei Skyliner, Ginza and JR Line. Walking distance to Ameyoko Street and Ueno Park. Room space is bigger than others hotel, after open my luggage 24" still have space!

Very close to Keisei Ueno train station, within 100 meters walk. The room quite big, compared to the other new hotels, with bath room. Rate is also very attractive, not expensive, but worth the money. The hotel is very clean, well house-keeping.

Bathroom amenities seem not attractive and lower than Tokyo hotel standard. Only 1 small soap and 1 envelop of shampoo per day. Providing with a bottle of shower liquid and shampoo inside the bathroom should be better.

The property was spacious and clean. The Ueno and Keisei-Ueno stations were close by, which was very convenient. Lots of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Right next to ueno park which is great to explore!

Small size but expected in Japan. Unless you spend more money to stay in hotel. No refrigerator in room.

Amazing location right in the heart of Ueno. Great value for money with friendly, efficient staff. Clean facilities. Wifi had strong speeds for free hotel internet.
