Location was perfect! Easy access to four local subway lines as well s a short walk to JR Ueno Station - or you could take the subway one stop. If you want to avoid Tokyo Station and get everywhere Tokyo has to offer - this is the place to stay. Parco and Matsuzakaya department stores across the street - both have food stores on B - floors, the latter of which is epic. Convenience stores everywhere. Don Quixote two blocks away. Great food everywhere - the corner Izakaya very very good, humble interior - well trained and skilled chef. Desk staff fluent in English, helpful and very family oriented and fun. Great to chat with going in and out. Exceeded expectations. Room plenty big for family (we were just 3 people) good storage. Trash removal and towels daily. Laundry worked well on floor 1. Luggage shipment to Osaka, skipping our next short stay destination took only a few minutes (Mimaru works with Yamato) and everything arrived in Osaka without any issue. The area is just removed from the hectic hustle and crowds of Asakusa. You could easily walk in 15 minutes or so to Akihabara down the main road if you wanted, or take the subway one stop. We did TeamLabs Borderless, Harry Potter Studio, Disney Sea, Sumo Tournament, Tokyo SkyTree, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuky, Ginza, Asakusa, Akihabara and more over 6 nights and the locations allowed for very little transit. If you smoke - there is a smoking room on 2F - so avoid that floor if you don't smoke - but you won't notice it - and it's the size of a small closet. There's a 7-11 a block away towards Akihabara that has a smoking room and a couple large areas at Ueno Station/Park that are more useful for that activity. The Don Quixote up the small street two blocks then to the left - is well stocked and not crowded. Whole area very safe for teenage kids and young adults to walk around without supervision. For us with three people it was perfect. Again the staff was excellent!

It was spacious, with cooking facilities and kitchen utensils though we seldom used it. Microwave included, dual use aircon for cooling or heating. Room is clean. Amenities - lifts to every floor, 3 nos of washing machine (¥400 each wash with automatic detergent) and dryers (¥100 each use) available. Coffee and tea bags self collect from ground floor near reception. Location - very good, private and quiet away from the busy parts of Ueno, nearby connect to many train lines, Lawson convenience store just a short 50m walk away where we  bought most of our simple breakfast and drinks, Ueno station is just a short 5 mins walk away if you need to take Shinkansen (bullet train) to go other cities. Staff - very friendly, most can speak English. Helps call for taxis when needed. Overall, it's a very good place to stay, will recommend to others and will stay here again.

I had trouble finding exactly how convenient the location was when booking so I couldn't chose between the three different Ueno locations. I can't speak compare to the others since I never stayed at those spots but ultimately, glad I chose this one and loved how close this was to the stations. I was able to go out after dropping my stuff off at the hotel before heading out for a quick bite just 5 minutes away across the street. Parco and another major mall was just across the street. Lawsons was also down the street. Also 10/10 for the front desk staff. Super duper helpful, lovely, friendly. Every single one of those ladies both morning and night went above and beyond to answer my questions and help me out. I also loved how prepared the hotels were for our questions. They had diagrams ready for us to make sure no language barriers or mistakes were made. They even helped me chose the best taxi option for heading to Haneda airport and helped me make the reservation via phone.

I wish the bathroom had more ventilation. When you have multiple people using that room, I felt like the air just never left.

MIMARU will become my go to hotel for Tokyo. The location is so convenient with all the major metro lines just minutes away. The room is well organised for even big groups. The bed is comfy. We had everything needed. Highly recommended for families.

We had an amazing stay! Room was very clean, spacious, and was perfect for a group of 8. Could actually fit 10 people probably. Highly recommend for big groups. LOVED that the room had 2 showers!! This was such a great help for a big group. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great, near to stations and Ueno Shopping Area and has Lawsons and some cafes very nearby. There’s also daily cleaning of beds. Also fully equipped with utensils, microwave, towels, toothbrushes, and loved that they changed our towels daily. Beds were soft and comfy and blankets were great. The Ninja Room were actually the same as the pictures given!

We had an amazing stay at Mimaru Tokyo Ueno Okachimachi. It’s a convenient location close to a number of different train stations, with amazing food and shopping less than a 5 min walk away. Our room was very comfortable, and much more spacious than other places we stayed in Japan. The staff were wonderful and were happy to help in any way. We had to leave at 3.30am to catch our flight home and someone came out and made sure our driver helped us with our luggage I’d be happy to stay here again.

We stayed here at the end of our trip. The staff here is wonderful. They were very helpful when we needed assistance with a travel delay situation. The Ueno area is peaceful and it was a nice area to get away from the crowds. Ueno Park is nearby and we enjoyed the Ameyoko area which is very festive and vibrant at night with lots of locals out enjoying bars/restaurants. One ideal reason to stay here at the end or beginning of your trip is that it's a short walk to the Keisei Limited Express station, the high-speed train from Narita International Airport to Tokyo. The aparthhotel has accommodations for families (we had 4), which is a plus. The hotel is also located close to other train stations (such as Ueno station) so you can get to other party of Tokyo easily.

The beds were not too comfortable and the rooms, while clean, felt a bit older and slightly more run-down than some of the other accommodations we stayed at during our trip.

We had 2 families of 4 staying in one of their premium family apartments. It was great to have a common space to hang out. Laundry facilities were onsite on the first floor which was very convenient. Close by to Okachimachi train station (Ueno wasn't too far away either but was a walk). Loved the kitchen area to hang around in (we didn't eat in but could have).

It is larger than the typical Asian room but the rooms were still a little tight for us (although we are spoiled with space in the United States).
