The atmosphere. The hot bath provided was very relaxing after a long day of walking. I liked the area downstairs with origami, calligraphy, games, ice pops and sweets. The size of the room, there was enough space for everything. The location was good too (close to Asakusa station, convenience stores, Senso-ji). I liked the staff here: accommodating, friendly and with good conversational English.

The signs of wear and tear e.g spots on the walls in the room, yellow stain from the hard water on the white wall in the bathroom, and dents on wooden surfaces.

Hotel is located in the hart of Asakusa area. Comparing to Shinjuku it is packed with tourist and tourist attractions (shops, restaurants, temples). It is a right place if you 're looking for this type of adventure. Hotel is done very well but it is not a hardcore Ryokan. Rules are quite relaxed comparing to what we read in the internet. The bath is nice to have in the afternoon after a busy day. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Everybody speak English. There is a common area with snacks and games. We used it for breakfast and spend some free time with children. We enjoyed our stay.

Nothing specifically. Keep in mind that the area is very busy with tourists especially during weekend/holidays.

Beautiful ryokan with great onsen. Excellent location near Senso-ji Shrine near to lots of shopping and dining. Lots of nice touches like free tea, snacks and ice pops and some activities in the lobby (like origami and Japanese calligraphy). Kind and gracious hosts. I loved the yukata (lightweight robes) pajamas provided.

We only stayed here one night because of a change of travel plans. I wish we could have stayed longer. I can't really think of anything I didn't like. Maybe the elevator was small, but not enough to be inconvenient.

I wanted to start our stay in Japan with a traditional Ryokan and I’m so glad that I chose this one. The location was unbeatable, so close to the temple, shopping street and restaurants and bars. The beds were so comfortable and the onsen was lovely after a long day walking. The staff were amazing and so helpful. A big shout out to Endo who helped us arrange for our bags to be sent ahead of us to Kyoto. He went above and beyond for us. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a Ryokan style accommodation.

This traditional ryokan in the heart of Asakusa is the perfect place to start your trip in Japan. The place looked gorgeous inside and outside and the staff members were super kind and helpful! The tatami flooring is amazing and I really loved the futon as well, but to be honest getting a yukata was just the best of them all :) The staff also offered some candies and free drinks as well as the private onsen experience you can reserve, but unfortunately I couldn't try that this time. Still thank you so much for the amazing stay! I would most definitely stay here again and hopefully try the onsen next time :D

Wonderful staff and great to experience the private bath together (family with kids), great location for exploring Asakusa and handy for subway and Ueno station. Lovely little touches like the activity room for kids and Pjs in room. Nice little seating area with coffee/free sweet things. Thanks to the super kind and helpful staff who made our stay special.

Bathroom tiny (like in a boat) - no problem at all if staying for a couple of days but not somewhere ideal for a family for longer.

We loved staying in Ryokan Kamogawa and wished we had a couple extra nights to spend there. The host was so welcoming and warm, and all other staff we encountered were great. The private bath was perfect after a cold day of travel. The room was spacious and tatami with futon was comfortable. We also appreciated the little things like candy, origami/activities, and cold water bubbler in the common area.

The rooms are lovely, with a sleeping area and a sitting area. I also really liked the fact that there are air purifiers in each room. The private bath on the first floor is great, and the lounge area on the first floor is also very nice. The staff are helpful. Asakusa location makes it very easy to access shops and restaurants, but the area can be very crowded.

The bathroom is very small, and the sink is in the shower area. You have to turn the faucet from shower to sink mode, but you have to be very careful not to spray yourself with shower water when turning off the water to the sink.

Endo-San was extremely friendly and we had a wonderful conversation with him. He made us feel very welcomed. The room was very clean and we loved reserving the private bath. It was very clean and relaxing. The free tea and snacks were a nice touch as well. The ryokan is walking distance to senso-ji temple and Sumida park and the sky tree. It was also a close to the trains!

Staff said they would not hold onto our luggage after we checked out because they closed at 1pm

Our stay at Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa is characterised as “ service par excellence “ from the moment we checked in to our. Heck out - the service was very warm and personal . The staff made sure our needs are met : 1. When we needed directions to get to the location ; 2. When we needed a good place to eat our meals - all the suggested places were excellent choices and value for money and 3. When we needed to a buy a special souvenir , they went out their usual service to locate the right store .

Check out time - it’s too early 10Am .
