I booked this property on a whim as I needed a confirmed booking to register for my ETA to enter Kenya. It looked clean and simple and I thought it would do the job. It did so, and much beyond. From the beginning the staff were exceptionally friendly and a pleasure to interact with. My room was clean and of good size so I could move around comfortably. The windows were new and sealed shut keeping out any unwanted noise, however when opened they also had screens allowing for a nice breeze to enter the room WITHOUT mosquitoes! The shower was large and hot and the water pressure was good. Breakfast was included and was a delight. A full fresh buffet with anything from yogurt and musli to eggs and potatoes on the menu. Wifi is free and worked well. The location of the hotel is also a close distance to the centrum (it took me about 20 minutes to walk), allowing me to briefly explore the city with the short time I had. I would certainly return to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone needing a place to stay in Nairobi.

This is grand old hotel in a style you don't see much any more. The facilities are a little old, but rooms are very ornate and spacious. The breakfast is lavish, the bar is very pleasant in the evening. The staff are really exceptional: always willing to answer questions, solve problems and help guests understand how to get around Nairobi. The surrounding district, known as the Central Business District, is lively and safe to walk during the day.

Taxis recommended by hotel staff, while safe, can be pricey. You may prefer to use Uber. The street in front of the hotel is a favourite for protest marches, which sometimes causes difficulties entering or leaving. Overall, though, this is a very good place to stay in Nairobi.

We stayed at Best Western Nairobi Upper Hill for 3 nights and the whole experience was an absolute 5 star. The rooms were so comfortable and with all necessary amenities. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a pool and a big garden where you can relax and have a drink/meal. The breakfast is buffet, high quality and plentiful. The highlight of the stay though was the amazing service from the helpful and super polite staff. Particularly John was always helpful and so attentive, he made our stay even more pleasant. I 100% recommend this hotel and will stay here again if I come back to Nairobi.

We really enjoyed our time here; Overall the hotel is very clean and the room was always smelling fresh throughout our stay. A special thank you to Peter from reception for being so welcoming to us and always happy to help; Pauline and Melvin gave us nice restaurant suggestions and we had the BEST Choma ever! Also we would like to thank John from restaurant who was always so cheerful with us and remembered our orders which added a personal touch to the service.

The Breakfast was nice but could use a bit more options. We could not even get bacon without being charged.

The staff are so lovely, very helpful and do what they can to accommodate your requests. Rooms are comfortable. Food is good although service can be slow. Being able to use the pool at the Fairview was an added bonus.

The food selection was somewhat limited - very few vegetarian options. Would be nice to have some cheaper lunch options like toasted sandwiches. Packed breakfasts for those with early departures could do with improving. An omelette sandwich and a sausage sandwich would be welcome additions.

Excellent staff - friendly and accommodating. Comfortable, spotless and well-equipped rooms. Efficient taxi service from NBO. Good, fairly basic breakfast. Choice of restaurants. Luggage storage facility. Good security. Swimming pool area.

Some minor glitches: Bed in the way of fully opening the door. Kettle damaged and wall plug not working. Fairly rough environment outside the complex ( hence the security). Walking around the local streets problematic.

The friendliness of the staff. Their kindness was lovely to wake up to in the morning. The bed was very comfortable, food was very good.

We are an older couple. The stairs were difficult. No air conditioning was difficult and the fan in our room, on the ceiling was very noisy. If we cannot get a ground room floor we cannot stay. That would be sad. The cost was above what we thought it would be. As Missionaries who stay in Nairobi while coming from Us and going back to Us on a regular basis, we look for less expensive places to stay. Your staff, all of them are awesome!!!!

Clean and comfortable rooms that are well laid out for the business traveller and have comfortable beds. Good quiet location within easy walking distance of Nairobi's Central Business District. Staff were friendly and helpful. Guests are able to use all the facilities of the adjacent Fairview Hotel, including its pool and garden cafe, which is an excellent place for informal meetings

Breakfast was good, but not as good as it used to be before Best Western took over as managers of the hotel.

I absolutely loved my stay at Best Western Upper Hill. The staff is the best - they're incredibly sweet, welcoming, hospitable and do all they can to make the most out of your stay. Any ask is possible and is welcomed with a smile. The rooms are good, very clean, and the restaurant and swimming facilities of the neighbouring Fairview are a major plus. Loved it, good value for money, would definitely come back!

The room was spacious and clean. The ambience was nice. The staff were really courteous and pleasant. I was surprised to find that the currency exchange rate there was quite good (better than the airport, and only a bit lower than exchange agencies outsode). The breakfast was quite good as well. The bathroom had a toilet jet which I hadn't found in other hotels in Nairobi.

The restaurant was quite expensive.
