We stayed in a standard garden view room which was actually more spacious than we expected. Nice and quiet at night and bed was very comfortable.

Just a couple of minor things could have improved our experience - Suggest it would be more efficient for guests to not have to queue at reception for pool towels, surely there could just be a separate line or system to speed things up. Our room had a fridge which was great to keep our drinks and snacks cold. Suggest it would be nice to have at least a plate or even small chopping board to prepare our snacks on, plus some basic cutlery.

Rooms style felt like home. Nice garden outlook with patio and outdoor furniture. Comfortable bedding.

Facilities should be checked by housekeeping every day. The toilet cistern constant ran emptying the bowl so there was no water when you needed to flush. Had to remove cistern lid to stop the constant running of water and lift the mechanism. Floor could’ve been vacuumed and checked better… debri left around the carpet along with a large shard of broken glass under the table and chairs. No cutlery inc even a spoon for hot drinks or a simple knife to slice Camembert for inside snacks before dinner etc. overall and otherwise happy.

Beautiful surroundings, esp the pool area, and the large grassy areas and palm trees by the sea, felt like we were in Fiji! Friendly staff, especially Malinda at reception, everyone we encountered was friendly. Loved hearing the tui birds singing in the trees at the property. The outdoor bar area was lovely and nice bar snacks.

We were in a twin bed room, the beds weren’t comfortable and also were a bit too small for two people to share although it was advertised as being suitable for two adults and two kids. There was an old used plaster in the shower when we checked in that the cleaners hadn’t removed.

Great location. Great buffet in restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds.

I had requested to have two rooms next to each other (as we were travelling with kids and grandparents) three times prior to our arrival. When we got there we found out our rooms weren’t next to each other and felt like staff didn’t show that they cared much. They did offer some rooms up the stairs next to each other but there was no lift and as travelling with young children we had alot of stuff. No help up the stairs was offered. Whole situation didn’t ruin out stay but I was definitely a little frustrated.

Dimitri the head concierge is the living embodiment of what superior hospitality is. He made our trip to the bay of islands a very memorable and enjoyable stay. He provided us with extensive knowledge about what to do, booked us activities and assisted us in getting around to places when needed. The man has forever my utmost gratitude and appreciation. The hotel itself is in a perfect location overlooking the bay and a short walk into town, the staff are friendly and welcoming.

The room itself was a tad outdated and suffered from general wear and tear. Multiple stains on the curtain and carpet were quite noticeable.

The pool area is fabulous. We were there in the cyclone, but we did walk around in the storm to have a look and it would be super awesome on a normal beautiful day.

The weather. We had to switch rooms due to a leak in the carpet (we think the shower leaked through the floor to the carpet in the room - it wasnt a leak from the roof). There was also a fire alarm evacuation. In both instances the staff were exceptional, so it really wasnt a bother and just unfortunate for everyone with the weather.

We love coming here. Been twice now & have tried somewhere else within a 4 min drive and(we checked out and ran straight here) at the time of booking no avail. So when I say we ran we literally did! The beds are comfy as! The space on either side (sea view or yard) are both equally as beautiful. Its always clean & is so comfy even my asd child enjoys the space and that speaks volumes!!

Nothing as of yet. Just the late night menu (i get it its late) but maybe a updated menu for the late night check ins?

- Very comfortable bed - Views of the sea - Good room service - Staff were happy and accommodating - Elevator to help with luggage - Restaurant on sight if needed - Great location to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds - Large swimming pool

- Outdated bathroom - Toilet lid was strangely attached so that the lid constantly pressed on the flush button while you were sitting - Poor ventilation in the bathroom - Broken top shutter next to the balcony sliding door - Heat pump didn't work well (needs a service) - Small spa pool which was not adequately heated (felt like a lukewarm bath)

The facilities were great, pool was nice, room was clean staff were accomodating and upgraded us to a Seaview room. We almost didn’t try the food at the resteraunt after reading the reviews but were surprised at how good it was. We would have saved money had we just eaten at the restaurant every day unfortunately we didn’t try it til the last day. It’s cost a lot more buying food in town

There was no cooking facility or microwave. But good experience over all

The bed was great, and the location room was nice and quiet with a pleasent outlook over the inlet.. This is a convenient location for Paihia and they provide a free shuttle service to and from town. The pool complex and a nice tropical look, the spa pool was nice and hot.

This resort has a slightly tired feel about it, The Shower has very bad water pressure. The onsite resturant is most likley okay for the buffet, if you are there with some confernce or are feeding hungry teenage boys, but we choose to dine from the alacarte menu, and the food was below average and poor value for money. - we only went there once.
