We stayed here on our way back as well. Everything. Location walking distance from the main train station, about less than 70 meters and central in Zurich.. All Staff very professional, knowledgeable, kind and respectable to guest. This hotel has a romantic Zurich charm to it. Laderach chocolates store , Amavita pharmacy 2 minute walk. Co-op, McDonalds around the corner. Globus store at the back.. In-house restaurant with oyster and lobster bar. Many other restaurants around the hotel. Many shops under the train station .Nierderdof area to the old town by river Limatt is a short walk away. Trams, number 7, which run until after 12 a.m are available just outside the hotel. I hope to return one day.

Brilliant position for trains and trams to all part of the city . The property has excellent staff and are so happy and that makes the stay very pleasant . Breakfast was terrific and fuelled us for the day . Highly recommend.

The location is an easy 3 min walk from the train st. The room was excellent and a very good size but we had a corner room which seemed better than the standard room.

The shower is a nightmare with no seal at the bottom of the shower screen first night spent 30 minutes clearing up the mess on the floor rediculous,also the shower rail placement is in a stupid position,you could already see the damage its doing to the door and trims,which is a shame with such a new room xxx

My wife and I have been staying at the St. Gotthard since 2017 and we were "at home" during every stay including the dark days after the COVID Pandemic. Since then I have noticed that the hotel and its staff have come to the point where I can feel that "I am at home". The location is ideal if one has to travel by train, as the ZRH Railway Station ist 150 meters away, The famous Bahnhofstrasse is ten steps to the right and reaching Kloten Airport is no more than 20 minutes. As for the "in House" services, the Breakfast Buffet has always been the typical Swiss Breakfast with all options you would need and was always to our satisfaction. The personnel that has been working for quite an number of years are happy to see a returning customer and that makes one feel at home. When a group of US visitors landed yesterday early midday on August 01, 2025 en masse, they were very quickly checked-in and the Managing Director was personnally checking the guests in and seing that they got to their rooms asap. The breakfast was hands down the best experience of the three hotels we stayed at throughout Switzerland. Beautiful spread. Delicious flavors and options. The location of this hotel is perfect too, if shopping and eating is your thing while in Zurich.

The outlet next to my side of the bed did not work, as well as the hairdryer in the bathroom. We never complained about these two things, but I'm sure many would. These things should be checked periodically. The bathroom was clean, but extremely small. The room and bathroom reminded us of the size of a room on a cruise ship. The temperature thankfully was in the low 70s for our stay, but the AC needs a complete overhaul. It gets hot. We ended up opening the window throughout the night to allow the cool air in, which helped a lot. Luckily, we were not against the busy street though, as I'm sure that would be loud.

The biggest factor for us to choose this hotel was the reviews and the points of giving by the guests, the location. However, when we saw the hotel's proximity to Zurich's main train station, we realized that the ratings and positive reviews were actually incomplete. Although the hotel is old, it provided us with excellent facilities with its renovated rooms, large room by European standards, soft beds, good room cleaning, proximity to all the places you want to see, the quietness of the hotel despite being on the main street, and a breakfast variety that is not expected from a European hotel. We would like to extend our biggest thanks to all hotel staff. However, the biggest thank and applause deserves the reception department, which made our holiday unique, never withholding their support, and the hotel manager Mr. Erhan, who made us spend three days in Zurich in almost home comfort. Don't worry, you have a home in Zurich.
