Absolutely wonderful location, close to sights, river, old town, parks. Bus and trams within 10 minutes walking distance. Helpful and friendly staff. Very friendly people everywhere around Riga! Many locals speak English, and communicating with people without English (point at wares at market, shops etc) works great when no common language. Had a wonderful week here!

Room on close to where the hotel restaurant guests are frequenting, minor noise disturbances - sensitive guests may consider asking for a noise free room. Breakfast area is a bit limited.

The hotel was well located, had a wonderful receptionist named Levs who goes above and beyond, and the rooms were a decent size in my opinion. There are standard card keys with a thick golden book instead of electronic ones.The bed is cosy and has air conditioning, which is great in the summer.A kettle was present.Additionally, the breakfast is excellent and varied. A bonus is the restaurant at the top of the hotel, which has a good view. It was in a beautiful location in the old town, close to the cathedral. Although it was in the middle of things, it was still a peaceful place. It was a pleasure to stay at Hotel Gutenbergs.

Reception manager Levs was phenomenal. He is the most polite, the most helpful and the most courteous hotel staff that I have met in my years of travel. Nothing is too much trouble for him. Upon our arrival, he met us at the door of the hotel and helped us carried our luggages to our room. We felt at home right away. He also helped us booked our dinner and gave us tips on how to navigate the old city. He is the reason why I chose Hotel Gutenbergs when I read all the good reviews about him. If someday we will go back to Riga, we will stay again at Hotel Gutenbergs because of Levs. The hotel has an old world charm and is also walking distance to all the major sights. Good breakfast spread.

The level of service in this hotel is just first class. It is situated in a perfect location to sightsee, party, river cruise, visit a museum or climb a church tower, this historic, beautifully decorated Hotel, with its rooftop restaurant and fabulous breakfast Will Wow 🤩 you.

Beautiful location. Surprisingly quite place. Great staff. And, ofcourse the shining star, heart and soul of this place, reception person Lev. Who truly loves his job and loves to help people.

Bad selection of tv channels, bad working AC, ordinary breakfest.

Levs is wonderful. Helps with everything - knows so much and is so helpful and delightful. He makes the experience of the hotel top class. I hope he never leaves. Whilst he is there we will continue to return to Hotel Guterbergs

Great location in the heart of Old Town Riga! Very affordable rooms with an excellent breakfast that is included. The staff were super helpful and friendly, especially Levs who works the front desk@

Room was slanted due to age of building, but the beds were at least level.

Great location. Near perfect for walking around the old city. Historic building with an old world feel to it. And, an absolutely wonderful person named Levs at the Front Desk.

The breakfast was adequate but quite boring!

Nice hotel located in the heart of the old town. We couldn't fault anything about our stay - the staff always courteous, friendly and helpful, helped us organise a taxi to the airport and made arrangements for late check out (with very minimal fee). We wanted to have dinner at the rooftop restaurant but made the mistake of not booking beforehand but staff went above and beyond to get us a table that same night, truly exceptional service and the food is just divine. Wonderful breakfast with plenty to choose from in the morning. Our room had high a ceiling, was impeccably clean and we slept comfortably. The bathroom might be a little small for some but for us, it wasn't an issue. Very very pleased we found Hotel Gutenbergs! Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one!

Location, atmosphere, old style, but mostly and not least was Levs. Levs helps us many ways before arrival. He was so friendly, hotels heart and soul. Breakfast was nice.

Noisy during weekend nights, staff gave us ear plugs.
