First of all the staff was amazing. I'm sorry i didn't get the name of the person who checked us in early in the morning changing the rooms so that my tired family could get room right away and we could get couple of hours sleep! We were ready to wait until 1500 to check in so this made our first day waaaaay better and kinda had one extra day. All the other staff was also super friendly and helpful.. including the staff in the amazing restaurant (Sale & Pepe) beside the hotel. BTW. Go try their amazing Pizza even if your hotel is further away! Hotel is situated perfectly in the middle of old town which was just the right location for us, since we wanted to visit several museums etc in that area. There are also lots of nice little cafes, restaurants and even couple of malls right there!

The location and pleasant people. The receptionist took the initiative to change our room from the 2nd to the ground floor when I returned from a fall on cobblestones and was walking on crutches with a badly bruised leg. Wonderful breakfast. The adorable inner courtyard open to the sky. Simple decor of slightly faded glory. This was my second stay at this hotel. Our second room was very very nice with more modern touches and amenities.The first room was small but adequate and clean. The Ra tings are for the 2nd room we had.

The bedside lighting in the first room needed repair which we didn't get.

The hotel is in a great location; in the centre of the old town but on a quiet back street. The staff are very kind and are fluent in English. The room has a large, comfortable bed, the decorations in the hotel are pleasant and a nice reflection of being in the old town.

I attempted to have a shower around 1am but there was no hot water, though I tried again at 9am and the water temperature was perfect. I would guess there is no 24 hour supply. Also in the guest information they mention the tap water must be boiled before drinking. It was a surprise but isn't a massive problem as the reception offers bottled water to compensate. There is also a minibar in the room with a large selection of drinks.

The location was absolutely amazing, right in the old town - we could reach everything by walking distance. Generally the hotel was very quiet and a bit old fashioned, we enjoyed our stay very much. One of the nights we had an emergency and needed support from the staff. Though it was all a bit chaotic from our side, the staff was extremely helpful, going so far as to keep our room for us a bit longer than we booked, and we are absolutely grateful for it. Thank you so very much for the support and friendliness in such a difficult situation.

The breakfast room/restaurant was a bit weird smelling but otherwise no complaints.

The staff are lovely, very helpful and take the initiative in helping visitors. Their English language skills are fluent. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the Old Town, hence the hotel name. It's quiet at night. The weather was chilly but the rooms were delightfully warm. The breakfast if it's included in your deal is very good without being excessive, with a choice of hot and cold food. Many Latvian food restaurants are nearby to try. The food in Riga is generally very good especially if you like Central/ Eastern European /Nordic type food which we do. But there are other ethnic and fast food choices in the area too. We took the 22 bus from the airport, 1.50 euros and a short walk from drop off to the hotel.

No lifts for two fit 70 year old friends who found the stairs, in addition to the cobble stone roads, a bit hard on older joints but it didn't spoil our visit. ( The Receptionist helped me take my case downstairs and had we not been such old stoics and had asked them to help I'm sure they would have done it upstairs). My friend's room was in a different section and had so many stairs and such a low dormer ceiling she was unhappy and complained about the room, but the staff graciously changed her room to one more like mine on the second floor ( which is the first floor in British terms), so had fewer stairs and a normal height room.

Excellent Stay in the Heart of Riga’s Old Town I recently stayed at this hotel in the center of Riga’s Old Town and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The location is unbeatable – you’re right in the middle of everything, with all the major attractions, restaurants, and shops just a short walk away. It’s the perfect base for exploring the city. The hotel itself offers outstanding conditions. My room was clean and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could need for a pleasant stay. What stood out the most was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to provide recommendations, assist with any requests, or simply greet you with a warm smile. Their professionalism and kindness truly made my stay even more enjoyable. In summary, if you’re looking for a hotel that combines comfort, excellent service, and an ideal location in the heart of Riga, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

The location of this hotel is great; its in the middle of the old town. The room was spacious and even though the furniture looked a little old it was quite comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious. The staff was very anxious to meet our needs. Breakfast had a good choice of cold cuts, cheese, cereal and the staff made fresh egg dishes for us. Our flight left in the afternoon and it was possible to leave our luggage for a couple of hours at the hotel so we could take another stroll through old town before we had to go to the airport. We only stayed one night and it was absolutely perfect!

This hotel is so charming and cozy! Very well located for all the sights of Riga, and right in the atmospheric Old Town. The Art Nouveau district is less than 30” walk away. Clean & comfortable. Staff were very polite and helpful. I would stay here again … and I can fully recommend it to those travellers who want to stay in a place with real character.

There’s nothing I disliked

Great location - right in centre of old town. Easy bus ride from airport. Staff were friendly and spoke English. Hotel is quaint, comfortable and very clean. Good size room and comfortable bed. Good wifi.

We paid for breakfast but were only able to get hot options on one day out of three - staffing? Apart from that breakfast was good quality continental cold fare. Although there was a radiator in the room we were unable to get any heat.

Exceptionally good location, beautiful building, very friendly staff members at reception

Breakfast: only cold food was served (e.g. boiled eggs that were taken out from the fridge) without pre-information that you can actually ask for warm/fresh food and there are options to choose. I am not sure whether it was related to the hotel's saving policy or with the restaurant's staff member who was reluctant to inform this without the visitors needing to ask about addditional warm options (many of guests that did not ask, did not have warm/fresh options). Also, this is not a drawback but something to keep in mind, if you come by car, you may pay up to 20 eur. for the spot in the hotel's parking area for a single night.
