Lovely service, we were checked in by Ms Victoria and she even agreed to show us the room first because I said I was sceptical due to the reviews. While I was booking, there was only a “bunk bed room available for 2” so I booked it as I was only sleeping here for the night. The best part it they have common rooms, a lovely kitchen, lots of seating area - but I’ve not seen the hostel rooms. I was on the 5th floor where mostly it was private rooms. There were also rooms with double beds on that floor. All rooms have sharing toilets, but they have hairdryers as well and drying racks and also you can pay for laundry and extra towels. I don’t think I’ve anything to complain about the room, it had chairs a table and 2 lockers and a massive window which could be kept open. There’s lots of shops outside and it’s RIGHT above a McDonald’s and there’s a nearby grocery shop that’s 24x7 and it’s right in the centre opposite the iconic Liberty statue.

Very noisy outside due to the area, sharing bathrooms are visibly not dirty but smell awful quite often and missing toilet paper in some booths took forever to get replaced and same with soaps. Also the rooms will get hot during summers, and they don’t have a provision for fans.

Location is spot on, very good security, excellent cleanliness. We were very thankful for the luggage storage. Staff was always there to help. Small but comfortable room. All in all the perfect place for us in Riga.

Nothing against the hostel itself, but due to fellow travellers lack of tidiness in kitchen. Also some of our food went missing (went towards a late night party...).

Check-in was very quick and efficient. Room was simple,but very comfortable. It's so close to the train station and bus station. Also hotel is in the middle of old Riga. I had a short walk and pint of cider in the bar. It was only 100 meters from the hotel. Very convenient. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you.

The Liberty Hotel is maybe a step above being a Backpacker's Hostel, but it fit my needs exactly. Just inside the Old Town. it is convenient to everything one needs or wants to see...everything is within walking distance. It has a laundry for those who need one. A McDonald's is right next door, and a Circle K convenience store is maybe 100 meters away. The Old Town is not just historic old buildings, but includes modern stores, other restaurants, and everything you would expect of a downtown of 600,000+ inhabitants. Top value for money. I stayed in an individual room, which I appreciated. Staff was VERY helpful. A very lovely park is just across the street. Tourists should avoid buying a tram card, as the bus and rail station is the only place a tourist would want to go which is reachable by the trams. One place one must go is the Restaurant and Folk Club Ala Pagrabs, near St. Peter's Church. Good Latvian cuisine, and authentic live folk music. It*s a big club, and it was packed on a Friday night with hundreds of people enjoying the music, food, and drink. Friendly clientele and staff. Within walking distance of the Liberty. It goes with a DJ after 10 p.m. I really enjoyed Riga, and would encourage anyone needing a short city getaway to visit. The architecture is fantastic.

I would have liked to have a full time reception. The rooms are very small, and the beds are bunk beds, but comfortable. Not that I did not like this, but it was a bit cramped, even for a backpacker. But I was travelling on a tight budget, and I found this lodging the best value for money in the entire Baltics and Finland.

Hostel is in perfect location when you are planning to go to old town! Easy check in, room big and clean! Big kitchen, lot of toilets/showers on floor. Would stay again in Riga!

Fantastic view of Freedom Monument and Milda from the front window. Large building and better than expected bed space. Excellent location.

No negatives on this occasion. Minimal facilities in room but this is to be expected with price and location as a premium.

Staff was friendly and flexible. Place was clean, room was big. Location was great.

There was no curtains in the roof windows. U have to wear also earplugs.
