The hotel was central for that part of Puerto Vallarta. Not mt favourite area but fine for a few days. Good restaurants are found on adjacent streets plus many places for great massages. The roof top pool was what drew me to the place. It was lovely. Small but warm.

The whole hotel was populated with long term stays. They seem to "own the place". Short term stays were told by others where sit and what not to do in pool area. They were so territorial with the space it was not right or comfortable. One resident did apologize on behalf of rest when i brought it to their attention.

Loved the clean pool, comfortable lounge chairs, great value, loads of massage places nearby, and some good eateries; and coffee shops; overall pleasant stay!

I love a good cup of coffee first thing. Their coffee was a bit weak and not ready until 8.30 every morning; cold breakfast from a small self serve station; there was no soap or conditioner in my bathroom, the TV didn't work, and the cleaners didn't come until late afternoon each day. The beach nearby is not the best for swimming, and the area is a bit run down, but overall these were minor inconveniences when compared to the things I liked about the place.

Room was clean. Bed comfortable. The roof top pool is small but nice.

There was no fridge in the room and they didn't provide bottled water. It was ok to stay for 1 or 2 nights but I wouldn't stay longer.

The staff at Mar Elena were super friendly. The decor was very colorful and classy. I liked the Kabbalistic picture. At first I didn't notice it, but then I realized what it was. This was a great hotel,.especially if you are Jewish and desire to walk to shul on Shabbos. Chabad being a 5 minute walk. They understand what needs to be done on Shabbos and will be very happy to help open your room with the key card. I also asked for a lower floor. The entire place looks like a Spanish hacienda. The doors are beautifully carved with pineapples. The breakfast is really cute. They have some parve.things. we discovered many foods in Mexico have hekshers (kosher markings). We didn't get to swim as we only stayed one day and it wouldn't have been warm enough. The pool is really cute and is up on the roof. The bathroom was really pretty. The room was sparse, but in a Mexican Amish type way lol. With pretty wooden benches and closets. Also,.the beach was just a 5-10 minute walk from there. Loads of people selling things on the beach. Just bring a towel or chair. Lots of people doing hair braids.

The beds were a bit hard, I thought. They hurt my hips a bit.

The room we were originally given was small and did not have a patio. It faced out to a busy road and was very noisy. We asked for a change because I had booked a room with patio and after a few days were moved to a very spacious suite with a huge balcony. The pool was nice and clean and we enjoyed sitting on the lounge chairs and reading. The beach was a short walk away.

The hotel is situated o a very busy street but by walking across it and exploring the area we found numerous good restaurants

The outside tables, where we enjoyed breakfasts and early evening gatherings was clean, cool, and helped us enjoy our family vacation. I was with my mother and aunt, both seniors. They found the hotel very easy to move around in and liked that we were near bus lines to move to other parts of the city. A definite plus value for us, recommend to others for vacation. Pool was very refreshing, only issue was that the lower level pool was closed.

Pool closure and housekeeping was short staffed because of a death in the family of some workers so they weren't able to clean everyday. They made up for it with a generous discount for our next trip. A trip we are already planning!

The wifi was exceptional, much better than other similarly priced hotels I've stayed at. The water pressure in the bathrooms was outstanding. The TV and A/C worked perfectly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location with many important stores and restaurants nearby. The beach is an easy walk from the hotel.

The bathrooms were pretty small but the plumbing worked well.

Lovely fountain in the entry courtyard, trickling water so nice to hear. Nice facility. Staff very accomodating and extremely nice. Huge bed and very good quality sheets. Nice area on 4th floor has pool and is the location for continental breakfast. Location convenient to airport, not on beach but is near the beach, but not the primo beach for PV, is a bit away from the active nightlife area of the "romantic zone".

I would not call the room "dirty" but cleanliness was just average. The shower handles need a good shot of mildew killer behind the plate and the toilet paper holder had a substantial layer of dust. No water in room and no pitcher available to fill at water purification dispenser. No ice in freezer "dispenser" both days I was there. And the TV in my room did not work and when pointed out to staff, they were unable to fix it. They did allow me to watch news in the "common room", but I really missed having my TV in my own room at bedtime.

The water was always off it seemed. On a very busy street, a little intimidating to cross, really had to watch the locals & move when they did. There were lights but they didn't make a whole lots of sense. The couch was very uncomfortable to sit on as it was plastic, we put our beach towels and a sheet on them in order to sit on them.

We had a comfort stayed.! The beds are very comfy, ac worked well and kept the room cool and cozy. The hotel staff are amazing, i chatted with Jorge, Alejandro Jose, Manuel and even the security guard, they all made me feel safe and welcome. They provided lots of important information about the different beaches and “must go “ places. We visited Conchas Chinas, very rocky and kind of aggressive waves. Good for pics and a relaxing time but not to swim. Garza Blanca Beach and Esmeralda Beach are Beautiful!! Because there are not waves there, these are definitely my favorite beaches to spend the entire day and swim. Easy to get there by uber, I only paid about 6 dls from the hotel. There is no restaurant in the hotel. No breakfast offered, however there are many places to eat near by, 2 to 3 blocks walking. The hotel location is great to access to the South or North side of PV, either by bus and pay 10 pesos or by uber and pay a little more. Coffee shop next to the hotel, however it would be perfect if the hotel had coffee in the room!

No coffee in the room. Beach nearby is not pretty.
