The property was well maintained and quiet even though it was in the center of town. The beds were extremely comfortable. The lights were pleasant the shower great (and large). The bath products smelled and felt amazing. The pool did have leaves in it. It’s surrounded by tropical gardens, and I did use it even though it wasn’t heated. The water was fine and staff did clean it in the morning. The staff were very lovely. We spoke mostly Spanish to them, so I think we got extra credit for trying to blend with the culture. I’d definitely return. We had a car, and the parking lot is half a block away and has an attendant. We were never concerned about the car and had easy access to it for day trips.

Id love to see curtains on the windows to allow privacy while taking advantage of cooler nights.

You must get a massage she was wonderful, and the best to do after traveling.

Location. Privacy and quietness. Staff was kind and welcoming. The decor was nice and hotel clean. Very grateful for the air conditioning.

The pillows were way too big, woke up with sore necks. Could improve on some of the bathroom amenities.

We loved staying at Casona 61, excellent location and rooms were super comfortable. And loved the pool and our rooftop soaking tub. Hurrican Beryl was close to Merida and the staff took care of us and moved us to a safer location on the bottom floor and gave us extra supplies and kept us well informed. It was very comfy place to be in a shelter in place order.

1) our soaking tub had tons of bugs and ants but was cleaned up 2) our 2nd room the AC was leaking and plaster was on the headboard

Better manteinance

Property is incredibly cute, charming, welcoming, and cozy. Lots of small personal touches, but most of all the staff makes you feel incredibly welcome. Also the rooftop pool is such an incredible and romantic feature for any stay. Highly recommend.

Everything was wonderful, only slight negative was no laundry or laundry service but ultimately the services provided far outweigh that small negative. Wonderful place.

Very near central Merida and convenient. The hotel room was very spacious and I loved the rustic Mexican vibe. The swimming pool and decoration around were beautiful and there's a small cafe/ food area in the morning for breakfast and water supplied to drink. Also, Uber taxis are easily available around the area. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was great.

The vibe of the hotel is calm and relaxing, being close to local restaurants and Paseo Montejo is a plus. The staff is super friendly and helpful :)

The facilities of the rooms could improve like having a mini bar and not paying for each bottle of water you consume. A bit more option on the breakfast would be nice too.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable with good AC, and nice shower, with good location. The terrace room with the private pool was nice. Overall it was a pleasant stay, and would recommend.

Reception area looks a bit run down, as does some of the furniture in the room. Room could do with a fridge, and the terrace could be decorated better. Make you pay for parking with limited parking spaces. Luckily we got one.

The room and hotel are beautiful, a modern interior. The tub on the roof of the room was perfect to enjoy the sunset. There is a separate parking space (which closes at night) with the possibilty to park in the shade. This is perfect to keep the heat out of the car.

It's a 5-10min walk towards the city center. We prefer it this way because we like it a bit more quiet, but others might find this an important consideration.
