This is the second time that I stay in this beautiful hotel, right in the centre of Merida and I would stay many more times in the future! It is a relatively small hotel so it feels private, but also it is big enough to have a pool, a restaurant with a great breakfast included, and the rooms are spacious. Even though it is right in the centre (only a block and a half away from the main square), the hotel is very quiet at night and you can get a good night sleep. The rooms are well equipped with air conditioning (essential in a city as hot as Merida!) and all the toiletries you may need are provided. The building is beautiful and the garden with the pool is excellent. But the best about this hotel is the staff! they are incredibly friendly, kind and attentive. They were very easy when we checked in and even offered us a room that they thought would suit us best with young children. Our flight left Merida late at night so we checked out but we were able to keep our luggage in a safe place and continue to enjoy the pool, which very conveniently also has a toilet and a shower nearby, so we could freshen up before our travel. A beautiful setting in an old building with a courtyard and a lovely little enclosed pool area. Very conveniently located for exploring the city. The valet parking worked perfectly - the staff were especially helpful with this. It was a shame the bar didn't open until 6 pm - and not always very promptly either - as it was a nice area to sit and have a drink after coming in from a day out or before venturing out for dinner. Desk staff recommended an excellent local restaurant as the hotel restaurant is not open for lunch. Due to the closeness of lots of restaurants, we didn't eat in the hotel restaurant which was very quiet throughout our stay. Breakfast was simple but very adequate.

A very lovely and quaint inn, well decorated, with a pool and in a very good location to the historic center of the town. Breakfast was good and to order.

There was confusion about my booking.com reservation at first, and they confused me with another guest and said the rate was much higher, and could not at first find my reservation. Eventually, they did and correctly honored my reservation price. Then, at breakfast, I was asked to pay although my rate included breakfast. That, too, they eventually resolved. The were very nice about the whole mixup. They have only valet parking, which is a slight inconvenience.

The staff and hotel groundskeepers were professional. The pool was well maintained and a pleasure to use

The room, at least room #7 was 2 star. We could give it a 3, considering it had an iron and a hair dryer. Water stains on ceiling, the bedside light had two different voltage bulbs. The bed sheets were industrial grade cotton like what you would find on a tablecloth. Door handle coming off on the inside. The towel rack and toilet paper rack were coming off the wall in the bathroom. The air conditioning unit was difficult to control and blew damp musty air. The chair had a burn from an iron being placed on it. Also the price I was quoted on booking.com and what the hotel charged were not the same.

The included breakfast was really quite good, nothing particularly fancy but quite worthy. Tried something from the pay menu and it was good as well. The staff very helpful, smiling and friendly, just like most Mexicans we have met. The location is excellent, a short walk to the main plaza where lots happens and not far from other parts of this interesting city. A very walkable place, good food everywhere.

No complaints.

This hotel is charming and has a friendly staff. The location near the main square is excellent and a pick up location for tours. If you have lots of electronics, you may find a lack of electrical outlets, and we did not have a refrigerator or coffee/tea in our room. This didn’t detract from the comfort of the room for us. Supporting a local business rather than an international chain is a plus.

Its history as a former monastery was a plus. It’s rustic just like a place with history should be. Breakfast was wonderful. The small pool looked nice although I didn’t use it. Room was very quiet presumably because of the masonry walls. Location is great too.

Shower didn’t heat up one morning. There is a sign on bathroom wall that says run hot water for 1 minute presumably until it can run through water line to shower head.

Very nice colonial hotel just 2 blocks from the Gran Plaza. Despite being right in the Centro, it was absolutely quiet!!!! The staff was very helpful, especially Alex the bellhop. He carried our heavy suitcases right up the stairs, was always available when we needed something. When my husband had a medical situation, he went to the pharmacy and got the medication he needed, way above and beyond! Beds were great, breakfast was great. The pool was a nice size.

An elevator would be great! Also, a station to refill water bottles would be nice, to save needing to buy plastic water bottles. The hot water was only lukewarm. Nothing that would prevent us staying here another time.

A unique and beautiful property in a very convenient location. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were very helpful, and the property was well maintained and clean. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Merida.

We did wish the bar had longer hours, as we would have stopped for a drink before heading out for supper.

Beautiful well cared for property

The staff seem un-empowered and lack luster. They do not have any information about the city including where to rent bikes or mopeds, what events are going on or even give advice on where to eat. They are simply there to check people in and out and this hotel could be so much more with a bit of customer service.
