We loved the location, neighborhood was very good. Breakfast was great! (You can reserve a spot the day before for 15 euros for the breakfast otherwise you pay 18 euros on the same day.) Freshly made pancake was always delicious no matter who made it. Staff was very nice and friendly.

Towels did not smell fresh and also one of them has a very bad stain which I suspected to be blood. I don't know how that got away the check and ended up in our room but I put that one away without using it and wished that the other towels did not smell like they have not been washed for months. Also pillows were uncomfortable to sleep on. They were very hard and it was difficult to not wake up with neck pain.

Hotel Fita is a beautiful building and could NOT be in a better location. The street is idyllic and quiet, yet it is an extremely short walk to two different tram lines and four amazing museums, Museum Plein and a number of restaurants and cafes. There is a grocery store 5 minutes away, and if you are in to high end fashion, every store you could imagine is one street away. It took us very little time to discover just how lucky we got with this location. Amsterdam is not huge, and most things are easily walkable or able to reach by tram from here. De Pijp is maybe a 12 minute walk, the canal district is 20 minutes by tram. For me, the proximity to the museums and Museum Plein, and to the bars, restaurants and canals of Leidesplein was ideal. Our room was on the top floor, spacious with tons of natural light, a large bathroom and air conditioner!- a very pleasant surprise as we were there during a heat wave. We had breakfast at the hotel once, and it was nice, and there are plenty of breakfast options within a short walk or tram ride as well (Blushing is a lovely option and literally around the corner). I would not hesitate to stay here when I return to Amsterdam.

While in a speeding train leaving Amsterdam, I realised in horror that I left my 23-year old wedding ring at Hotel Fita. When I called the hotel, I was assured they found it and will gladly ship it back to my home half-way around the world. What an incredible relief!! All in all, Team Fita has been incredibly helpful from first moment to last, with prompt friendly communications and exceptional service. What’s more, they promptly checked us into our room even when we arrived at 8:00am due to our early flight - nice little touch after a long tiring flight! And when we had to switch rooms for our last night due to limited availability, they took pains to make it as seamless as possible. We could not have asked for a more delightful Dutch hospitality experience! Highly recommended! You can’t go wrong with Team Fita. Thank you!

Warm and friendly staff - everyone we spoke with was so genuine and helpful. Gorgeous welcoming lobby, really liked the breakfast room too. Stylish but not pretentious. Nice big room - spacious, airy. Air conditioning lovely and very effective. Bathroom - excellent shower, nice toiletries. Breakfast - reasonable value when pre-booked - there is certainly plenty of choice available and everything we ate was very good - the pancakes made to order were a real treat. Well-stocked drinks and snack bar. We quite liked the quirky lift :-)

Very little to be critical of, however: The towels in the bathroom were small, and that’s annoying. Not a huge deal but also an easy win for any hotel. Some areas seemed tired, small repairs needed or stains on carpet. However it’s late August so perhaps things like this build up and get sorted when the season dies down a bit. No fridge in the room - again, no big deal but would be great.

The hotel is very cozy and has a great location — just a two-minute walk from the Van Gogh Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the largest fine arts museum in Europe. All major attractions are within walking distance, including the departure point for Amsterdam’s canal boat tours, a large park, plenty of restaurants, and shops. The staff deserves special mention. Everyone was incredibly helpful and attentive, always ready to assist, answer any questions, and help us navigate the city. I’d especially like to thank Matthias and Lara — they truly made us feel at home. We are already planning our next trip to Amsterdam next year and would love to stay in the same hotel and hopefully the same room. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The hotel is very well located about 5 minutes walk to the Rijksmuseum. The room was comfortable, cleaned and towels changed every day. Water replenished. Breakfast good, though we breakfasted at a local bakery for two out of three mornings. Almond croissants to die for.

Steep steps to the door and staircases very steep. Tiny lift, so you could wait for ages to get to and from the third floor. On our first night and morning, there was no hot water. These things happen, but we would have expected a token in compensation. A bottle of wine or some stroopwaffles. No shower available after a long day of travel and no morning shower was not great.

The location for a brief stay was perfect. Near museums and I could walk to many parts busier parts in 20 minutes or so. I also liked the building and the typical architecture but it had a small lift so I could take the top floor!! Breakfast was quite good too. My room was especially comfortable and great bed!

I didn't like not having a lobby with staff present a bit more. It meant having to ring with specific questions during the afternoon and evening. They were always helpful and responsive but no ambiance of friendliness. I felt it was very pricey for what I received. I believe I had one of the most expensive rooms but it seemed overpriced. For the cost of $400. Per night I would have thought breakfast was included.

The breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold items, the staff could offer me gluten free options which I appreciate very much. The staff were most welcoming and helpful. The location was ideal for walking or taking public transport, and we were so close to the major museums, the Vondelpark and restaurant options. The area was quiet and overall we were very pleased with our stay. Thank you!

The stairs are very steep and a little scary, but also add to the uniqueness and history of the building and surrounding buildings.

The deluxe double room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, chairs, tables and a wardrobe. The bathroom and shower were also spacious, with almost instant hot water. There were several options for breakfast, including very good coffee and pastries, cereal and fruits, as well as cold meats, cheeses, and pancakes. The location is perfect for the Museumplein as well as for access to the tram system. And a lift means that you don't have to climb the steep stairs typicial of Amsterdam's old houses if you don't want to.

Somewhere to hang outdoor coats in the bedroom would be useful if wet.

Hotel Fita met and exceeded my expectations. I wanted a location close to the art museums with a room where I could do my work. The room was small but had a small desk with good lighting from a big window and from lamps; it also had a kettle! So I was all set. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom immaculately clean, and the staff were not just welcoming, but also kind, in the way they treated me and also how I saw them interacting with other guests in the breakfast room. I was amazed how easy it was to catch the bus from right near the hotel to get to Schiphol airport within 30 minutes.
