Location and staff

Unfortunately, our stay did not fully meet expectations. The room (415) had a noticeable humidity odour upon arrival, which affected our overall comfort. While the bathroom was spacious, the layout and positioning of the closet made it quite inconvenient — especially for guests with a larger body frame. It simply wasn’t comfortable to use. In addition, certain areas of the bathroom showed signs of wear and could benefit from better maintenance or more thorough cleaning. The towels, although functional, appeared worn out and somewhat damaged from extended use, which is not what I would expect from a 4-star establishment. Overall, the experience fell short of the standards I associate with a hotel of this rating.

Great Stay in a Perfect Location! We really enjoyed our stay! The hotel is perfectly located — just a few minutes’ walk from the Flower Market and Dam Square, with most tourist spots within 10–20 minutes on foot. Tram stations are right outside, and you’re surrounded by great restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly, always smiling and ready to help. Our room was spacious with good working AC, a clean bathroom, and a super comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast was decent — not a huge variety, but enough to start the day, and there’s a small menu you can order from too. The service team, especially Abby, really made our mornings better. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is extremely well located overlooking a lovely square with easy access to the trams, bars and restaurants. However it is noisy into the night earbuds are provided by the hotel. The hotel is clean and the staff are extremely helpful and polite..They helped and advised us on the tram network and booking a trip We had to ask for extra cups and glasses for the room. We had a triple room but only two of the above had been provided We were not advised clearly that we had to request housekeeping services otherwise the room was not tidied. Nor was I advised that it is cheaper to pay the bill in euros rather than pounds! Finally, the breakfast is disappointing. The range and quality of the food varies greatly from day to day.Staffing in the restaurant was poor most of the time

The historic feel and look of the public areas give the hotel a unique quality. The buffet breakfast was excellent (but the coffee machine could be improved?). Our bedroom was at the quiet back of the hotel. The beds are comfortable, with good reading lights. Good TV with BBC news channel. The bathroom was very good: good space, window that opened, vg lighting, bath with 'drench' shower. Rembrandtplein is a great location for going to the museum quarter (as we did), about 25 minutes along the canals' and for the centre.

Maybe a small chest of draws? We stayed four nights and it would have been helpful. Rembrandtplein is full of bars and cafes, with numerous restaurants closeby. Also a couple of 'smokeys' (cannabis cafes). This might not be to every visitor's taste, but the location was perfect for us.

Fabulous location in the very heart of Amsterdam, surrounded by cafes, restaurants ( to suit all preferences & budgets), shops, coffee shops, bars, supermarkets, canals, including late, late night life. Buffet-style self-service breakfast which, at 27 Euros is rather expensive ( for what is provided).

Rooms overlooking Rembrandtsplein ( such as mine) suffer from incessant noise from revellers until around 4:00a.m. The hotel should, at least, have these rooms double-glazed ( to reduce noise levels).

Our room for 3 was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a square surrounded by some restaurants and grocery stores. Although not close enough to the most popular spots in Amsterdam, you can easily have fun around. You can take the tram to/from Amsterdam Centraal train station for a very cheap price and arrive in less than 10 minutes.

The heating is set to a very low temperature so as to work only for a couple of minutes and then turns itself off. We had to call reception to fix it and heard they call our request “extra heating” which was, believe me, not “extra” for cold weather of December. Elevators were also kind of unsafe when their floors were slippery due to wet-cleaning and their opening to use before drying. There were only one pair of single-use slippers in our room for 3.

I personally liked our room and that it had a really good view of the square. The sofa bed was quite comfortable but in all honesty, I wish it had more pillows. or bigger ones at that. Unfortunately, due to the "extra" bed, there wasn't quite enough room anymore for the luggage, But it was fine. We learned to work around it. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. Breakfast was awesome!! One of the best flaky croissants, IMO. The bathroom was clean and the amenities just right.

You had a staff that had a bit of a sour disposition. She was irritable when we asked questions upon check in, especially when we asked when our rooms would be available. Although, she would accomodate some of our requests, she said it without smiling or had her nose up in the air. I figured she was probably having a bad day. But she was like that the entire time we were there. When my mom asked if there was a church nearby, she replied with an irritated "there's none and that's the only church nearby based on my search". But when my mom asked another staff later on, she was able to find one much closer and with a big smile on her face.

Excellent location! Easy transportation to and from the main centre to outside the hotel. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby and many more within walking distance. Hotel room was very clean, modern and had everything you needed. Staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. I arrived 6 hours early to actual check in time but they had a room available for me which was amazing!

Only thing to complain is there is slight noise at night as it is in a central spot however the hotel provides ear plugs for such and overall it didn’t disrupt my sleep(just something to be aware of)

Room very comfortable and liked that they provided an abundance of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel, plus some other useful things like earplugs and a shoe cleaning cloth (perfect if you live in white trainers). Also like that they reward you with drinks vouchers if you choose not to have your room serviced every day - win win for you and the environment.

Didn’t like the location of the hotel as I didn’t realise it’s situated on a really busy square when I booked it. Surrounded by busy pubs, coffee shops, etc. that stay open late. Large digital screen on building opposite the hotel, etc. I guess that’s what the complimentary ear plugs are for!

Location excellent. outlook at rear excellent that you could open window and it was quiet in room and that there was good aircon.

unfortunately no bar food available. Limited seating in foyer. What about tea making? No instructions if you just wanted hot water from coffee machine. I wanted a guide/information sheet in English to Schiller's artworks visible in hotel and other artists represented. This would have added to the 'art' location.
