Second time staying here found the staff right from check in to hotel bar to golf shop were all extremely helpful and kind. We arrived after 9pm not had any dinner and the manager on the desk kindly made us some pizza which we were extremely grateful for. Loved the view of the lake from the room and being able to sit out on the deck watching the ducks and swans. Was very peaceful. Hubby had 2 rounds of golf managed to only loose 2 balls

The bed was a little uncomfortable for hubby was too hard

Honestly so glad l booked this stay despite some of the reviews l saw about facilities being outdated etc. l thoroughly enjoyed every aspect and the one thing l’m sad about is that l didn’t have enough time there. As a solo traveller going for my birthday, the room size was perfect with stunning views. Room was super clean and the team made my stay EXTRA SPECIAL by having a birthday treat in my room before l checked in which l thoroughly enjoyed. The resort is massive! I wish the weather was better so that l could do more walks but staff were always offering to drive me back to my room. I ordered two small plates and a side for room service as l assumed they would be tiny portions but l actually struggled to finish. The food itself was delivered hot and tasted better than what l expected.

Airport shuttle would be nice given the resort is not central or close to other transport options although l appreciate the taxi option and also realised majority of guests had cars. Sometimes you just want to relax on a trip and not have to drive or worry about parking etc so l thought shuttle would have been perfect.

The Lakeview suite was beautiful. We arrived to the aroma of fresh baked bread in a bread maker for our enjoyment. Apartment was warm (staff had the heat pumps on upstairs/downstairs). Bed was comfortable, spacious suite, lovely view and balcony upstairs and balcony downstairs, lovely deep bath, great water pressure with the shower, two toilets, two TV’s downstairs and in bedroom, chocolates in the bedroom and they had even gone to the trouble to create two swans with our bathroom towels. Stove top, microwave, fridge. Free parking. As an Accor member we also got a free late check out. We could’ve stayed another couple of nights.

Nothing but if I was being really picky it would be to have more butter and jam for the bread (a big loaf and only two little sachets of butter and one little jarlet of jam). And maybe some insect repellent/fly spray for the mayflies that were around on the balconies - had we known we would’ve brought our own. Despite that, we would definitely come back again!

The view of the lake was amazing! The change of colours over the day along with the animals on the lake were the most memorable thing about the stay. The staff was warm, friendly, and really helpful.

The porch/veranda were not adequately cleaned. Extensive cobwebs can be seen on wooden chairs; bird excrements were seen on the rails. Spa tub was not adequately cleaned, debris can be seen on my wash. One of the water jet outlets was broken. Air conditioning units were old, and maintenance lights have been on for both upstair and downstair units. Clicking noises can be heard frequently. However, they have been effective units. The shower door could not be fully closed, I had to use a towel to close it flush.

Loved the unit layout, style and positioning on the lake. Restaurant was convenient and lovely food. Staff were great.

Although clean and presentable, It seemed a shame the unit maintenance was terribly lacking, it would not have taken a great effort and expense to refresh the dowdy timber surfaces and to get the bi-fold doors so they would open and close. It’s a maintenance manager issue and Management will probably ignore this comment as I’m sure they have been notified before , because the issue is not new.

Surprisingly affordable, handy to the airport and with great access north and south, I wish I had enough time to play the course. The restaurant was exceptional. For 66 dollars I had a three course meal of entrée (the Thai duck salad was incredible), dessert, and took a cheeseboard back to my room. Superb. Will be back!

The one bedroom apartment we had excellent with views of the lake. The resort has a golf course and is a great place to stay. It is only a 10 minute drive to the Airport which was great. I would thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay as it is an easy 20 minute drive into Christchurch.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Amazing views over lake, paired with comfortable bed, great shower pressure and a kitchen with everything we needed made it a good stay. All staff we encountered (reception and cleaning) were friendly.

Our lake front suite needed a little tlc. Peeling paint and poorly repaired dings in the wall. Could have been an absolute knock out but was just needing a little maintenance.

The location is beautiful and very relaxing. We made our own breakfast.

The light over the main staircase was out. We requested it to be fixed three times but it was not, despite me almost falling and being caught by my husband (thank goodness). It could have been a very nasty accident because I could not see the stairs in the dark.. This was reported to Ryley who said he had written it in ‘the book’ and was surprised it had not been fixed on Saturday.

Everything Applicance-wise was there that we needed and any staff member we came across was very friendly. The heat pump was on for us when we arrived so it was lovely and warm on arrival which was a lovely touch. The views over the golf course were gorgeous, the surroundings were lovely - tree lined long driveway in and out....

We had booked a room that also had a sofa bed and we had advised we were bringing a 15 year old with us - there was no bedding provided for the sofa bed unfortunately, so we had to use the one spare blanket that we found to put under him and then use the blanket off our bed to put over him...not ideal late at night when it was too late to do anything about it - we just wrongly assumed the sofa bed would be made up - but no spare sheets/pillowcases for us to make it up either
