Absolutely lovely place to stay in Dunedin! A highlight of our NZ trip. The loft suite is very spacious, clean and filled with beautiful light. You could easily do remote work from here. The Aria staff are super friendly and helpful - even offering us their phone when our car had troubles. Kitchen facilities were good e.g. fridge, kettle, microwave and real milk. We felt like this room needs a stove top but we didn't suffer without one. The value for money on this stay is incredible - we felt very comfortable for 3 nights in Dunedin here. Free and private parking - nearby bus to town for $3NZD if you didn't drive. Free and fast wifi.

Can't fault the Aria on Bank at all. Note for the town - Dunedin is almost empty in early Jan due to uni holidays. Majority of food places were not even open, and if they were, many closed by 8pm! The town felt a little ghost like. Good 24 hour mini supermarket in town though, 5-10 min drive from Aria.

Fully appointed loft cabin-style room - I stayed in the superior loft suite for 3 weeks and it had everything I needed. Plenty living room space for 1 person, large double bed with electric blanket and comfy linen/pillows. Kitchenette with everything you need, bathroom with good ventilation. Opposite the bus stop, close to botanic gardens, grocery store and a few local restaurants, 20-30min walk to town centre. Shared laundry with washer & dryer and laundry powder provided. Couldn't ask for anything more! Looks just as presented in the photos.

The induction cooktop isn't very powerful - difficult to cook at high temps & to boil off extra liquid during cooking, so recommend plan for recipes where this isn't required, or remember to be very precise when you cook.

It was centrally located close to shops, Botanical Gardens and there were plenty of buses to take you into city. We loved the loft bedroom overlooking the kitchen and main living area all of which looked out on to a lovely garden area with a running stream. The apartments were all off set allowing for privacy and we couldn’t hear our neighbours (a real plus). We could really fault Aria on Bank and would definitely stay there again.

That there wasn’t really any way to cook a meal other than heating food in the microwave. A small cooktop and small oven would have been good.

It’s a motel but each unit is 2-story high. The bedroom is on the 2nd floor while the living room, kitchen, dining room and bathroom are on the ground floor. Staff are helpful and accommodating. We have a party of 4 and 3 of us got sick (flu). So I asked the front desk (forgot his name) to give us an extra linen and blanket so our friend (who’s not sick) can sleep in the couch and not share the bedroom with any of us who have fever and coughing. And he did - he even gave an extra pillow. Very understanding!

Parking space is tight

Superb location, dedicated car parking space, we got an upgrade as well, had all basic ammenities. Recommended

We had a dedicated car parking space, but still someone parked in our space, while we were away and management had no idea.when informed at reception they asked us to park at another place. This could have been handled better. Also the place needs a deep carpet clean and change of mattress, I could feel spring , so probably bit old.

Just about everything went well. Location is superb: within a 5 min walk are a coffee bar, shops, supermarket (New World), bus stops for 3 different routes, and Dunedin Botanic Garden. Units with east-facing windows are a treat- sun pouring in from 8 until noon! $32 for door-to-door airport shuttle.

Don't know what Aria could do about it, but the footpath on Bank Street outside Aria was constantly partly blocked by stinking rubbish bins. Otherwise no dislikes at all :-) .

The bed was comfy, and the room warm We got upgraded as the first room still had a wetness where u get out of shower, so we opted and paid extra for a better room, he gave us a big suite, was so lovely of him. We loved it Great kitchen Great shower and great location.

The first room was very pokie and I thought for value wasn't great as we had stayed twice before and got a fabulous room with an upstairs. This time, it was more and small, didn't seem to clean 2nd room was great. I'm not sure we will go back

Aria on Bank has been our favourite place to stay whilst visiting the South Island. Gorgeous loft apartment that is short walking distance to the Dunedin Botanic Gardens, cafes, restaurants, shopping centre and even a cool little bar called Inch Bar, that has live music most nights. The owner was helpful, highlighting places to go on a map. The apartment had everything we needed including a hot plate, comfortable bed and powerful shower.

Parking was a little tight, luckily we had a small hire car.

Location is perfect. We came for an athletics event at Caledonian Park and it was so close. Walking distance to a park for morning trainings and supermarket also walking distance. Place was comfortable and clean. My kids enjoyed the space. Very clean and tidy. The hosts were so nice and gave us extra towels to use and return when we went to the pools. Would definitely stay again.

First walk in, the smell of cigarettes was pretty strong. But after leaving windows open for half a day the smell disappeared. The beds were a little uncomfortable but manageable for a short stay. Was still a great place to stay. My kids did not complain, which is a good sign.

Beautiful cosy accomodation for a long weekend in Dunedin. Such a bonus to get rooms serviced every morning and also fresh milk with a great tea/coffee selection!

Our only complaint was the mirrors were in a slightly awkward position in bathroom/bedroom for drying hair or putting on make up etc - may be better to place them on another wall with easier access! Otherwise a great stay!
