If I could give this hotel 10 stars I would - this is the nicest most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed at. Everything was such a breeze. To the parking, the staff, the location, the value for money… just everything!!!! I am stunned at how beautiful this hotel is. The views within the hotel were breathtaking, I am just speechless. The cafe was an added bonus, the best eggs on toast I’ve had in a long time. 10/10 recommend!!!!!

Very luxurious fittings, artworks and gardens in the atrium, a beautiful fragrance throughout the hotel, comfortable bed, excellent toiletries, great shower.

The lights in the room were very confusing - unable to figure out how to turn on the lights in the toilet during the night without lighting the whole room. Low quality paper products (tissues and toilet paper) - although environmentally friendly they were not what one would expect from a luxe property. No toilet brush available - although we appreciated the daily servicing, a toilet brush should be provided for guests to maintain a clean toilet. We acknowledge that it was a busy weekend in Dunedin with students returning to university, but felt we were severely overcharged at almost 3x the standard rate ($1500 for 2 nights). To then find we needed to pay and extra $50 for two nights parking was poor.

Breakfast is superb. Food is fresh, healthy, creative. Huge portions. Dairyfree cappuccino a favorite! Artwork is worth perusing. Parking for rental car available. The lavender bath bomb and huge tub lured me to my first bath in 20 years…heaven! Away from the very busy Octagon area; so peaceful but close enough for a short walk to restaurants, museums and shops.Great recommendations for sites around Dunedin…we did them all. Wonderful bed and linens. You won’t be disappointed!

Nothing could have been better. It exceeded our expectations in every way. And we had just ended a luxury small ship cruise so we had been spoiled for 12 days already!

Very modern and stylish hotel in the centre of Dunedin. Bathroom was lovely with a huge bath that you could easily sink into whilst watching tv. The shower was also great and the bed super comfy! Loved the smell of the hotel took me back to the hotels in Miami!

The only thing I did not like was when I went to pay cash for the bottle of water I had taken from the minibar only to be told that they do not accept that on the property! I was talking $8.00. It is legal tender and it is against the law not to accept it! We do not want to encourage digital currency as your money, freedom and movement can literally be switched off as desired with no notice by the government.

Have stayed here so many times now and The Ebb continues to create an atmosphere that is a special experience. Clean, spacious and friendly staff. Love the cafe too, it caters for all with both cabinet food and off the menu.

Bed softer than my preference but beautiful, luxurious and great pillows.

Beautiful room, exquisite amenities, stunning artwork. Flawless physical environment. The housekeeping staff were fantastic- early, efficient, and obviously have exceptional standards. A real credit to the hotel.

Receptionists are rude, surly, unfriendly, and seem uninformed and disinterested in the hotel….and, hospitality in general. Fortunately, we did not need any assistance from front desk, but all the receptionists need a crash course in hospitality and the service industry. This lets the hotel down considerably. Not sure if you hire students, but that the vibe they give- it does not marry well with the standard of the rooms, and the 5 star physical representation of the hotel.

The hotel location is very good, right in the center of Dunedin, close to the Octagon and to many of the historical buildings the city is well known for. The bike rental shop was close by and also near the starting point for the best bike trails around Otago Harbour.

We liked the food served for breakfast, quite good. But the system would be easier if we were able to choose like in a buffet arrangement. The price for breakfast was high and it did not match the prices in the breakfast menu. At least, a bit confused.

Beautiful spacious luxurious rooms. The overall design of the Hotel with the gorgeous art work and overlooking the internal gardens was stunning. Then you have the Cafe with a lovely fire and indoor outdoor flow the food is excellent and as we were there over New Year the guys working on New Year’s Day did an outstanding job given there staff numbers were light and Guest were definitely keen to dine with them. The Receptionist and another staff member jumped in to assist. A pleasure to watch young people who had managed to enjoy New Years Eve catch a few hours of sleep then work so hard to produce lovely meals all with a smile. The Receptionists are young and very interested in their Guests lives and backgrounds. The young Ladies who clean the rooms are lovely to deal with. Absolutely lovely to stay at the Ebb we loved our 4 nights and the location is excellent everything within walking distance.

Modern hotel in the heart of Dunedin, one block away from the main shopping street and a few blocks from the Octagon. We liked the spacious room and contemporary decor, fast Wifi, and parking behind the hotel. Very comfortable king bed. Bathroom with great rainforest shower.

It‘s beyond the control of the hotel: The view of the mall parking garage across the street. But this is a minor issue.

The hotel exceeded all my expectations during my stay. I booked it at the last minute. I was supposed to stay in another hotel in town, but after I checked in and saw the room and bathroom, I checked out. As soon as I went to the receptionist for the check-in, she was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are very large and have modern facilities. The breakfast is delicious.
