The room is furnished very nicely, just a writing table is missing. The bathroom is big with a good shower. The restaurant was very good - I have eaten there both nights that I stayed. There is a big parking behind the house.

Nobody came to tidy the room. The missing writing table. The sockets are behind the night tables and because I did not see the cable, I forgot the cable for my laptop and the adapter. They did not write to me to inform me that I had left it there. I have bought new cables and plugs in the meantime.

When we came back to the hotel in the afternoon we ordered coffee and requested a snack. There was nothing available so i walked across the road and purchased a couple of cakes. When I asked for a plate i was informed it was not possible to eat food from outside. While we understood the reason for this rule we felt the staff member could have been more flexible as we were guests and there was no one else in the room at the time. Not a big deal but the staff need to exercise flexibility.

This is probably THE motel with the best value for money I have ever come across in New Zealand. The room and bathroom are very comfortable and modern, everything works as it should and the coffee machine makes such a fabulous coffee that I am actually considering buying such a machine. :-) The staff is very professional, welcoming and friendly and they showed me to the room and explained everything. An additional bonus is the lovely and lively restaurant belonging to the same property. They offer delicious food and I felt right at home. Thank you for everything and I will certainly be back.

The location was brilliant and the room was quiet and perfect for me. With the rooms being renovated, I could not fault the cleanliness.

I found it a little uncomfortable going through the restaurant to get to the car park so I went around but it was a bit of a challenge. The room needed something for hanging clothes as the hooks on the back of the door wasn't really enough.

Nice little room with balcony, bed okay, bathroom new and nice. Excellent restaurant where we have had dinner sitting outside in the garden. Very friendly staff.

The traffic on highway 2 was noisy nearly the hole night long. But that is clear when we book accommodation directly at a main road. So not a fault of the Talisman at all.

Check in and out was a breeze and the customer service was amazing after a big drive. The room was nice and toasty on our arrival which was a major bonus on a Winter day and the bed, pillows and shower were amazing. We snuggled into a hot date with Netflix and had the best relaxing night after again a long drive and a funeral the following day. Would not hesitate to recommend. 5 stars 🌟

We were able to pick up a late booking - thank you. It's conveniently very to the town, on the Main Street, and close to nice walking paths along the river.

The bed was really hard and we had mosquitos in the room (6 actually) without opening any windows - hiding in the plastic plant and then waiting to attack us in the bathroom.

Great location. Being on the main road, we expected a fair bit of noise, but I only HEARD ONE TRUCK during the night and that was it!

We were happy with everything. I was allowed to take our dinner water back to our room (we are big water drinkers) and returned bottle to the restaurant.

Cosy, modern, comfortable, easy and discreet access away from main restaurant/pub, plenty of parking, friendly staff

Improvements: when servicing the rooms please make the beds as well. A mirror in the bedroom would be a great addition, as well as a shower shelf/caddy to hold more items in the shower

The beds were a little bit hard, I had a hip replacement and it ended up being sore the next morning, the beds need a foam rubber mattress on top just a suggestion
