The location of Nadarra is absolutely stunning! It is up quite a long gravel track, but the view from the house is amazing and the surroundings peaceful and beautiful. Jamie is extremely friendly and welcoming and you are free to share their delightful kitchen to cook your own food, if you wish. We ate at Huhu and were not disappointed! The beds were very comfy, but there isn't much soundproofing between the rooms - in case you're on holiday with a snorer! Everywhere was lovely and clean. It's definitely worth doing the short walk to the viewpoint.

The first thing you notice is the scenery - a lovely short drive from Waitomo Caves, the little forest that the driveway winds through (where we think we spotted a kea), to the stunning view from the cabin itself, and the lookout slightly further up the hill. The warm welcome from the host (and the dogs). The cows, including 2 calves, were brought down to the yard in front of the cabin and guests could hand feed with hay. The cosy cabin itself with big windows to enjoy the view and the ethanol fire to keep you toasty on a chilly night. Various cereals, milk, yoghurt, bread etc provided for breakfast. The sound of the rain on the roof at night.

We're on a 3 week trip so we have a suitcase each which was a little awkward in the space. If I was going again I'd probably pack a smaller bag with just what I needed for the night there, and leave the big cases in the car.

Location and views were excellent. We enjoyed the sunshine on the hill and listening to the birdsong in the monring. The little gas fireplace was great and efficient. The perfect cabin for us two to rest and recouperate after a few hours of rafting. We appreciated the booklet of information.

We found the wall attachements that kept the outdoor umbrella quite squeaky/noisy at times but this was a minor issue and most likely unavoidable

No rating is high enough for our stay at Nadarra Hideaway! We rented both the cottage and house rooms for our family to stay. Generous and warm hospitality and a beautiful location. Wish we could stay longer. Short drive to glow worm caves, ideal location for that. Photo is sunrise from the scenic lookout, on the random day that we were there. Truly beautiful.

The roads around the property are well-paved, but they have lots of twists and turns. It's a hilly rural area: take it slower than the speed limit.

Location and it was very clean and comfortable

Sorry the heating was not very good or safe. Heating ran out at midnight the first night and we had to wait till it cooled down, to fill it up again and relight. I know we were not supposed to keep it on overnight but it was too cold to do that. Suggest a gas heater run from a refillable gas bottle would have been safer and warmer.

We stayed in the cabin and it was wonderful. Super private, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is supplied in the fridge, so no need to go anywhere. The view over the valley is great and the location is so quiet... and dark at night! The Milky Way was visible right out the front door, which we enjoyed looking at on the patio chairs provided. Our host Jamie was great, even allowing us to do a load of laundry using the machine in her house.

The sign at the street is small and difficult to read from a vehicle. Don't trust your GPS map app when you arrive, as it will take you to the wrong address (the one next door). Be sure to look for the small sign to Nadarra Hideaway. The neighbour next door says it happens all the time!

We loved our stay at Nadarra Hideaway, Jamie, Grant and their kids welcomed our family into their home. They are located in a beautiful part of the world. Our rooms were comfortable and private, however we were also welcomed to join them in their lounge room and the kids enjoyed exploring the outdoors. We would highly recommend Nadarra Hideaway and would stay again in the future.

The stay was perfect

Beautiful location in lush garden. Friendly hosts. Ample place to put our things as the guest area has 2 rooms. Guests are free to use the common facilities, like the porch, the kitchen, the washing machine, etc. Nice toiletteries.

Breakfast rather basic. Rooms are under the roof with small windows. This means that when it is hot during the day, it takes multiple hours at night to cool down and be comfortable.

The cabin ist very cosy and absolutly quiet. You can only hear the birds and sometimes the cattle around. It provides perfect privacy. The bed is very comfy, so one can have a good nights sleep. The view (even out of the bed) is spectacular. James is a very friendly and helpful. She is a phantastic host.

Maybe that there is only little space for the luggage in the cabin. But that didn't affect our weel-being.

The perfect way to start our trip! The location was gorgeous, tucked into a beautiful valley. Our rooms were spacious, spotless and comfy and we slept like babies. Breakfast was ample and delish- yogurt, cereals, bread, coffees, milk. Jamie and Grant, the hosts, were incredibly kind and accommodating and their 2 children and sweet dog were a delight to be around!

That we only could stay one night!
