We absolutely enjoyed our three day stay at Aspen. Friendly warm welcome from motel manager. Our room was pristine and clean on arrival, I could smell the freshness as soon as we walked in. Nice conventional room which had the basic ideal necessities we needed like stove top, microwave. The bed was super comfortable and I honestly can say I had the most amazing sleeps the whole time we were there. Housekeeping was on point and it was great returning back to our room each day to fresh towels and our condiments topped up. Thanks guys :-)

The down pipe and loud water was flowing right outside our bedroom window. The shower cubicle is quite small and tight and the water temp changes if anyone uses water elsewhere. You can hear toilets flushing from other rooms throughout the night.

The rooms were well proportioned, clean and very nicely presented. The supplies in both the kitchen and the bathroom were very considered and useful. The king size bed was comfortable and the spa bath was most welcome after a long drive. The location allowed a short walk to into the town centre and easy access to Caroline Bay and the unforgettable blue penguins.

It was a shame that during our stay the proprietors were agency staff and therefore lacked a personal touch.

Everything worked well, the bed was very comfortable, adequate provisioning of towels, Nice TVs. An older property, but very well maintained and clean. Unit 21, where we stayed on our trip back to Christchurch, did not have quite as large a main TV. Room was really a fully-fledged holiday unit - you could happily live there for a week or two. Countdown (Woolworths) very close, plus lots of good shops nearby in town (3mins or so by car). The people who run it are very nice, and deserve to be successful. When we travel we value cleanliness, quietness, safety, comfortable bed and a hot shower. This site delivered on all of these!

In common with many hotels today, lack of storage in the Bathroom for guest toiletries etc. Unit 21 had a big issue with distance from its Hot water supply. Unfortunately you had to run the taps for quite a few minutes to get hot water - once it arrived, it was excellent and plentiful, but I felt we'd wasted a lot of water before then!

Exceptionally clean and fresh. Fixtures and fittings seemed brand new. Very well equipped. Friendly welcome on arrival, and were given all the information we needed about local places to eat etc. This is the first time in our (so far) 20 or so days touring NZ where we have given a 10 out of 10 score. Aspen on King is the best yet. Thoroughly recommended.

Bed a bit too soft - but that is just a preference, not a criticism.

It was a lovely space & the manager was lovely also, we forgot one of our personal items and they rung very soon after so we didn’t lose out on our things as we were out of townies!

The hot water ran out awfully fast, my partner had a bath then I went to shower and it was cold.

I was very pleased to get upgraded to the corporate suite, very well appointed and a nice suprise

Only issues is the spa bath I was looking forward to would not switch on, checked the fuse on the power board and all around the room for an external switch but could not get it to power up

The most comfortable stay! Honestly wasn’t expecting much but had one of the best stays. Loved the recliners in the lounge, spacious and cosy. Would stay again. Thanks so much!

If I had to be picky, there isn’t really any room in the bathroom to put your things but that was really it

Unit well equipped, comfortable and quiet. Free use of washing machine and dryer, also staff helped with supplying pegs as we wanted to make use of the lovely afternoon sun and breeze by using the clothes line. Walk thru botanic gardens thru to beach. Could walk to town if you wanted.

Need to drive to town to find an eatery, although there was a chippy just up the road. No problem to do this.

well appointed, very accommodating when I had to go to hospital and had the room key, no problem getting another key for therezt of my family

Maybe a grab handle for the shower, as i felt a little un-stable stepping down out of the shower,

Special carpet for heavy duty use not sure how clean it is. Bed room quite small there’s two feet gap to walk by but living is spacious. Be mindful when getting out of the shower, nearly a foot down to the bathroom floor.
