Excellent location, easy to find after a long drive. The owners were super friendly and made us very welcome. We were just one night, and at an excellent rate so our room didn't have a seaview, and you could hear the bigger traffic on SH1, but the rooms was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with full kitchen facilities. The bathroom was big, towels were clean and soft, water was piping hot.

That seaview would have been awesome...but hey, we were sleeping most of the time, so it didn't matter that much to us.

Very well equipped apartment. Friendly welcome from the owner. Close to the centre of Timaru, it's just a short walk into the town centre. It was nice to have decaf coffee provided, it's the first time so far this trip and we are nearly 3 weeks in. The lounge chair was super comfortable, I could have sat there for hours!

The motel is right on the main road and there is no sound proofing, so you hear all the traffic. The lack of sound proofing also runs to the neighbouring and overhead apartments.

At our age, my husband and I really appreciate being able to relax by sitting in comfortable chairs with good high back support & preferably with feet raised. I enjoyed watching TV in the evening in a lazy boy chair.

The room was cold when I arrived in the evening at the notified time. The heater had been turned on but was old and slow. After a long trip I would've really appreciated arriving into a warm room. I had expected to access free WiFi via a login code in the room. I didn't discover until too late that you had to go back to the office to be given the access code.

Room overlooked "Caroline Bay" & the beach. Ideally located, walking distance to some excellent cafe's and the main town centre & beach. Room was clean and tidy, bathroom and shower was OK. Linen & cutlery provided also clean. No issues at all.

Close to the main road, but our room (#14), was far enough away from the traffic to be very quiet throughout the night. There's train track is right between the room and Caroline Bay . . however, despite 2 trains coming through, they were very quiet and we weren't unduly disturbed.

Four bedroom villa was ideal for our family group! Large rooms, comfortable beds & everything we needed for a 5 night stay! Didn’t hear the trains at all (as mentioned in others reviews which worried us), road noise was minimal in the room closest to the highway but didn’t keep anyone up at night! 3 good sized parking spaces which fit both our van & another guests car/trailer.

We stayed in the villa - which was very spacious and had plenty of room for four adults. The kitchen and living area were well appointed. At check in, the staff (and their dogs) were very friendly and happy to answer any questions - they gave good advice for a dinner option. The towel art on some of the beds were impressive.

The motel is on a busy road which makes it very easy to find but we could hear some of the trucks going by - but we all did have a good night's sleep.

The lodge, and Ray (the owner), were so lovely! The place actually exceeded my expectations because I was unaware how LARGE the room is. There is an entire downstairs with a living/dining area and a kitchen that is very equipped with utensils, pots&pans, and cleaning supplies, and a huge bathroom, and then upstairs is the room with two beds. More than enough space for myself, and i believe the downstairs sofa can actually be turned into a sofa bed. The place is also pretty close to restaurants, and the beach (which you can see from your window). Wonderful value, and I would be happy to stay here again. I didn't really hear the train, but maybe I am desensitized to those noises from where I live.

Great that you can bring your dog with you. I expected due to this that the cleanliness and smell wouldn't necessarily be excellent however boy was I wrong, the room smelt amazing! Fresh and clean was my first impression. One of the owners dogs took a liking to me too which was sweet, even came to visit during my stay! Great size TV with sky and apps, comfortable lounge chairs, amazing view and everything you could need. Already booked to stay again.

Overall nice central location. Staff were very pleasant and they have some dogs that come and say hi. The place was very clean and the presentation of the room was very good. I would happily recommend it.

It would have been nice to have a small sofa to relax on and the Wifi was a little bit weak. The only other negative was the noise of the traffic but can't really complain when you're central to everything.

We have stayed here a couple if times before. Very friendly checkin. Rooms are great with good facilities and very clean.

Was a little noisy throughout the night from traffic noise on the main road. The outside lights were on throughout the night and unfortunately the curtains did not block out the light so was a bit difficult to sleep.
