Great friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms. Beds were comfortable and warm with nice pillows. There was a fan and extra heaters. The floor in our bathroom could also be heated. Kitchen was spacious and we had a balcony. Ceiling to floor curtains gave us good privacy while keeping the room warm on the very windy days. There is an elevator to help access the 2nd/3rd floors with ramps also. Shower was hot with good pressure. Very close to town, walking distance from most popular restaurants and convenience store. We walked to Te Papa very easily. Lots of E-bikes and scooters around.

The 2 in 1 shampoo/body wash. I would recommend taking your own.

Nice clean good value for money room nice easy accessible off street parking friendly staff that even after handing our room keys over let us keep our car on the property so we could walk to night and day to get some food the room was huge too there was beds for 3 people but you could easily put way more in there

Google maps and apple maps both took us to the back exit of the property, not the main entrance where you spoused to enter after working that out, tho we had no other issues

Free parking, spa bath and a lift to upper floors. Amazingly central.

Room smelled like stale smoke and the bathroom door was broken (pulled off it's hinges). Had to lift and push to close for privacy and it wasn't easy to do. Advised reception on first morning about the door, that the remote for tv was missing and asked for a tea towel to do dishes - got nothing. To be fair it was a long weekend but the tea towel was an easy fix. Day 2 went to use the microwave - the heat function didn't work 😞. All said and done I would stay again purely for the onsite parking and proximity to city

Stayed up a floor. Loved the spa bath. Loved it had a kitchen area. Ironing board, hair dryer. Location was central and handy to the Michael Fowler centre but also it was back off the street also our room faced north.

Well as people have mentioned the rooms can always do with extra time being spent on them ie need deep cleaning. Move the beds to vacuum under them would be good and dust too please as l found out. But appreciate the staff will not have time to move heavy beds by themselves.

I like how it was situated close by to most interesting places in downtown welly that you dont have to bring your car and just walk as looking for a parking was terrible. I like the cozy temperature of the room even though we did not open any heat pump in the unit, that still puzzles me. The staff were accomodating and sweet except for the lady cleaner, perhaps she did not hear me saying goodmorning. But thats not a big deal. I like how the room well equipped with all the things you might need in your stay, they even provided a dishwashing liquid unlike any other lodge. Another thing i like is the free parking :-)

No elevator but good thing we are located at the same level of the receptionist as my wife is pregnant and couldnt do stairs climbing. You can easily hear and feel the car door being shut close outside the parking lot at night but we have a white noise with us so it didnt impact our sleep and we did not hear any disturbing sound like that after 12 midnight.

This is my second time staying here and I have enjoyed it both times. I especially like its location and that the rooms are large, have a car park and are relatively quiet. The host is always friendly and welcoming.

The second bedroom didn’t have curtains to block out the light and the window was loose, allowing a cool draught to whistle through all night. Our daughter slept on the couch the second night, which was more peaceful.

The location was fantastic, very near to Cuba street - 2 min walk. We had an upgrade which made our stay even more comfortable. The room was good enough to chill out in when we needed a break from the walking. A lovely big bathroom and the bath was so nice to relax in. I will definitely stay again.

The carpet was a little dirty as well as the shower curtain. Couldn't get the spa working, but I didn't mind as the bath itself was enough.

The location to the CBD was fabulous. Walking distance or Uber. No road noise except the odd emergency services siren but that's expected. Excellent off street parking and exit out the back gate into Garret St into Cuba St. The room was a good size and kitchen facilities were great. Bonus to have real boxed milk and the cleaners did a tidy up each day and removed the rubbish thank you. The packet coffee is Yuck. Highly recommend this Motor Lodge.

usual stuff is there you would expect from a motel. location is great, with free parking. operator suggested we could stay a bit longer if needed, same for the parking space.

bathroom room floor isn't graded to the drain, neither does the bath tub edges so any water on the bathtub rim would end up on the other side of the bathroom and eventually out to the kitchen.

A great location, close to top end of Cuba Street with an abundance of cafes to suit all tastes. The room was spacious and equipped with everything you would need. The staff were very pleasant and easy to deal with.

Onsite parking was available however maneuvering, a larger vehicle (ute) around the parks was a little difficult. All in all, this wasn't really a problem, and wouldn't stop me from returning for another stay.
