Parked up and walked everywhere. So central. Room serviced daily. Friendly staff.

Unfortunately on our last night we got little sleep due to a very inconsiderate group in the room above us singing, banging and crashing till 2am. A suggestion would be to have room rules printed in room that noise beyond 10pm is not tolerated, and having guests in rooms beyond this time is not permitted. Whilst this group possibly would not have considered others regardless of rules, to the credit of the owners they did attempt to shut this noise down about 12.20pm following a phone call, but sadly the noise only went quieter for a short 15 mins before starting up again.

Absolutely lovely lady when I checked in who let me know I had one of the yet to be furnished rooms, so I wasn't expecting much, especially for the price I paid, but when I got to my room I was really impressed. Clean, comfortable and all I needed. The heater was also turned on before I arrived. Loved looking out at the city lights from my windows coming from living rurally. I was told about the eateries and shops around the area which was very helpful.

The only thing I could suggest, while waiting for an upgrade would be a non slip mat in the shower, or just not be clumsy like myself 😂 But that was a minor and no harm was done 😊 I would absolutely stay here again.

We liked the location as it was a short walk to Cuba Street, and appreciated the on-site parking. On check-in, Karen was welcoming and helpful, letting us know about current local events and eateries (Wellington on a Plate). The twin studio on the third floor was well presented and had amazing views overlooking Wellington. Capital View Motor Inn was great value for money. We will happily stay here again when next in Wellington.

The only negative I can think of is that the windows were fairly dirty on the outside, but this is a tall building and the winter weather doesn't help.

If you don't mind walking around everywhere, then this place will suit you, it's so close to supermarket (fresh choice), cafes, restaurants, shopping etc. If you have to go further, it was so easy to get Uber's they came within 2 minutes of booking. Compared to other places we have stayed at, the external city noise was much quieter. If you don't want to eat out, there is everything there to do a bit of cooking. (cooktop and microwave)

This comment probably wont be an issue for city dwellers, as we live in dark sky's so we notice it more but there seems to be so many really bright lights outside in the area that light up inside the unit. There are black out curtains but hard to completely block lights especially in the kitchen, which seeps around the kitchen blind. Didn't need to turn on the light to go to the bathroom, so this was a positive for us on this issue.

Reception very friendly and helpful - room was on the top floor larger than expected and recently renovated. No AC but happy with that as I dislike it. Opening the windows quickly cooled things down. The room was quiet with no external noise or disturbance from other guests. Well equipped for basic self catering. Decent laundry on site including drier. The location for the city was brilliant with Cuba Street a few steps away. Parking was secure and free on site.

Street parking is more difficult around the hotel as it has been regulated. The hotel work hard to get all guests parked on site but rely on customers properly communicating their needs.

Very friendly staff. Our penthouse was a lovely space with fantastic views of the harbour all round! It was very well cleaned.

We were very fortunate to be “upgraded” to the penthouse. The only little issue is that the lift goes to the fifth floor but the only penthouse is a floor above that and can only be accessed by a stairs. That’s not a problem as long as you’re strong enough to carry a heavy suitcase up! Well worth it if you can!! The areas outside of the apartments would benefit from a make over but the interior of the apartment we had was very well maintained.

We were very lucky to have the penthouse, it was amazing. Lovely and spacious for our four day stay. The beds were really comfortable and the suite was well appointed. The location is perfect so close to Willis Street and Cuba Street. The perfect spot for a weekend away. Definitely will stay again.

We had a wee challenge getting the t.v sorted, couldn't figure out how to watch normal t.v but the daughter had her netflix account to watch. Also the t.v is quite high on the wall which made watching it a bit uncomfortable. The couch isnt practical but really its not that big of a deal considering how fabulously the suite was.

We were upgraded, so had more space. The place was clean and bright, the bed huge and comfortable. It was nice being able to cook a simple meal and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We were able to park right outside. Cuba Street is just around the corner, it was an easy walk into town.

Some other guests were noisy on the landing, but we probably should have been up anyway and the windows could do with a clean on the outside. The one way system on the roads near the motel can be a bit confusing, but we managed once we got our bearings.

Clean and comfortable motel in quiet location with added bonus of onsite parking. Ideal location for walking into town/harbour front, restaurants on Cuba Street and only 15 mins drive to ferry terminal for sailings to South Island. Good for short term stay (we stayed 2 nights), but might need somewhere with a few more facilities if staying longer. We were on the 4th floor and had excellent views across Wellington towards the harbour.

The decor, fixtures and furnishings in our room were all looking a bit tired and the kitchen facilities were dated - the room (Room 36, 4th floor) would benefit from refurbishment. However, we did note that the room across the corridor appeared to have recently had a facelift and looked much better, so our experience might not be reflective of the motel as a whole. Notwithstanding the comments above, we still enjoyed our stay.

It was clean, comfortable and in a convenient location. Shelagh the owner went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. My boat was delayed for many hours, I got locked out of my car and app was going wrong so she let me leave my car in the carpark, charge my phone and use the facilities for as long as I needed. I’m very far from home and really needed some kindness and Shelagh did an amazing job at this and I’m very very grateful for her.
