The location and free parking were great, and the breakfast was decent for a hostel. The room was spotlessly clean. The staff were very polite and helpful. Common kitchen is clean If you use it before 7 pm.

My husband and I stayed in a private double room. Despite this, we were charged NOK 70 per person for bed linens and towels. The room was very cold (16°C), and the heating system was not working. However, when the linen fee is included, the total cost was comparable to hotels I found in the city center — many of which offered a better breakfast. Filter coffee in breakfast is very poor quality. Too much watery taste.

Super clean, lovely breakfast buffet, helpful staff and great price. Hostels don't always have rooms with private bathrooms but this one does. Laundry room was clean and tidy. There was gym facilities and games room. Free cookies everyday about 530 and there were organized activities like hikes and trivia challenges. FREE PARKING!

Google needs to correct its mapping. Google brings you to a daycare that has a paved walking / bike trail next to it... Google wants you to drive on it. Just keep driving up around the next bend and you will pass the Bunnpris grocery store and keep going. The hostel parking lot will be on the left side of the road.

The location next to the mountain was great for hiking lovers. The team was very helpful and the best part was the volunteers and the vibes the hostel had with everybody getting to know each other and traveling together:) The breakfast was great and rich with the selection ✨

it takes about 25 minutes to get to the center so take that into consideration if you're looking for something central. Bed linen isn't included in the price. Overall great vacation 😎

The hostel was extremely clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is also superb - on Mount Ulriken with stunning views of Bergen below and hiking trails nearby. The hostel also had lots of amenities like laundry and a fully stocked kitchen and breakfast is included in the price.

I had requested a bottom bunk bed when I had made the booking months earlier, upon arrival they explained this wasn't available but I feel if requested months earlier this shouldn't have been difficult to do. Everything else was brilliant and I would still definitely stay here again.

This was an amazing place to stay in Bergen! It was a facility that had everything a traveler can need: free parking, washing facility (you need to buy tokens but they provide laundry soap!), Nice kitchen with plenty of refrigerator space, a pleasant common room with games & couches, and really friendly and helpful staff! - the views are amazing here as well and the trailhead to the hike up a local peak (Ulriken) is one block away! It was very price affordable and as someone who had a car, it was nice that parking was included. It's easy to take the bus to Bergen city center (maybe 20-30 minutes).

The room I stayed in had a long term guest who took up 3 of the common room tables and had his stuff a mess everywhere. That was a bit annoying.

+ really cool hostel with social activities, nice and clean facilities, friendly staff and an included breakfast. + There is also a kitchen to use and two laundry machines and two driers (NOK 30 per wash or dry) + There is free parking, you just need to tell the reception and they will give you a receipt. + Superb view over bergen from the dining room and the garden + I stayed in a 4 bed dorm with clean and comfortable beds, a plug with each bed and a separate bathroom for our room. Per bed there is one locker.

Everything was great. Maybe, that you need to take a bus to the city centre which takes about 15-20 min. Keep in mind that one needs to pay 70 NOK per stay for sheets.

Great hostel in Bergen. Its right by the footsteps of of Ulriken mountain, which makes it a perfect starting point for hikes and also has a great view from the breakfast/terrace area. They do nice activities daily eg hiking and cookies in the afternoon which help the socializing element, without being a chaotic/party hostel. The breakfast was basic but good value. The room was comfortable, the only down side is that there was no step in the shower area, so the bathroom got wet every time I took a shower. The staff were super friendly and helpful in answering all my questions. Overall, it was an amazing experience to stay there

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bergen Hostel Montana, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations! Here's why I highly recommend it: Cleanliness: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hostel was impeccably clean. From the dorm rooms to the common areas and even the bathrooms, everything was spotless and well-maintained. It was clear that the staff took great pride in ensuring a hygienic and comfortable environment for all guests. Breakfast: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! There was a wide variety of options, from fresh fruits, continental slices and great coffee. It was the perfect way to start the day, and the quality and thoughtfulness of the spread were truly impressive. There is an additional packed lunch option available too. Staff: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The staff were incredible—friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist. They went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Whether it was answering questions, providing local tips, or just having a friendly chat, they were an absolute delight.

I liked the friendly receptionists and social activities offered. The front desk provided good information.

It was dated and in need of renovation, plus expensive for a basic room. The shower was not really separated from the toilet. The water never dried in the bathroom and it smelled moldy. The bunk beds are not ideal for older couples. The bedding gave me allergies and needs to be replaced or washed. The toaster in the breakfast room doesn’t work well. Maybe more diverse plates for breakfast would be good.

Staff was extra nice, rooms are clean, showers and all facilities are clean. Location is a bit remote from the city center but only a 20 minutes bus ride from the central station and it brings you closer to the Ulriken / Vidden trail start. The view from the hostel is beautiful.

Rooms are a bit small if the hostel is fully booked i think (3 persons in a 4 persons room was fine however). The lockers are too small to fit a whole bag so you have to pick items that you want to keep locked in. Also, padlocks are available for free but you need to make a deposit (100nok).
