Super clean, lovely breakfast buffet, helpful staff and great price. Hostels don't always have rooms with private bathrooms but this one does. Laundry room was clean and tidy. There was gym facilities and games room. Free cookies everyday about 530 and there were organized activities like hikes and trivia challenges. FREE PARKING!

Google needs to correct its mapping. Google brings you to a daycare that has a paved walking / bike trail next to it... Google wants you to drive on it. Just keep driving up around the next bend and you will pass the Bunnpris grocery store and keep going. The hostel parking lot will be on the left side of the road.

The location next to the mountain was great for hiking lovers. The team was very helpful and the best part was the volunteers and the vibes the hostel had with everybody getting to know each other and traveling together:) The breakfast was great and rich with the selection ✨

it takes about 25 minutes to get to the center so take that into consideration if you're looking for something central. Bed linen isn't included in the price. Overall great vacation 😎

+ really cool hostel with social activities, nice and clean facilities, friendly staff and an included breakfast. + There is also a kitchen to use and two laundry machines and two driers (NOK 30 per wash or dry) + There is free parking, you just need to tell the reception and they will give you a receipt. + Superb view over bergen from the dining room and the garden + I stayed in a 4 bed dorm with clean and comfortable beds, a plug with each bed and a separate bathroom for our room. Per bed there is one locker.

Everything was great. Maybe, that you need to take a bus to the city centre which takes about 15-20 min. Keep in mind that one needs to pay 70 NOK per stay for sheets.

Great hostel in Bergen. Its right by the footsteps of of Ulriken mountain, which makes it a perfect starting point for hikes and also has a great view from the breakfast/terrace area. They do nice activities daily eg hiking and cookies in the afternoon which help the socializing element, without being a chaotic/party hostel. The breakfast was basic but good value. The room was comfortable, the only down side is that there was no step in the shower area, so the bathroom got wet every time I took a shower. The staff were super friendly and helpful in answering all my questions. Overall, it was an amazing experience to stay there

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bergen Hostel Montana, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations! Here's why I highly recommend it: Cleanliness: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hostel was impeccably clean. From the dorm rooms to the common areas and even the bathrooms, everything was spotless and well-maintained. It was clear that the staff took great pride in ensuring a hygienic and comfortable environment for all guests. Breakfast: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! There was a wide variety of options, from fresh fruits, continental slices and great coffee. It was the perfect way to start the day, and the quality and thoughtfulness of the spread were truly impressive. There is an additional packed lunch option available too. Staff: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The staff were incredible—friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist. They went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Whether it was answering questions, providing local tips, or just having a friendly chat, they were an absolute delight.

This is for sure a top class hostel. The location is great. The bed quality is great. We had toilet and shower in our room. Great and helpful staff. Free parking in a tribble for finding a fair parking city of Bergen.

The breakfast was just below average. No warm meals included! The variety was not good as well, and It was the same thing every day. The pillows were like nothing was inside them. However when I asked for another one to put them onto each other, they gave it to me. Since the hostel is most of the time fully booked during the summer, one kitchen is not enough (although it was a very big kitchen). All the cooking I needed was boiling the water, but I had problem with that during peak hours as well. Having toilet in a very small room like that can be bad also if your bed is in-front of the toilet!

All the facilities were in very good condition and kept very tidy and clean. It felt a good distance from the city and the mountains/hills around. The view from the hostel was also beautiful and probably the highlight of the place. The staff were also incredibly lovely and helpful. Would definitely stay there again and recommend the place to others as it's probably one of the nicest hostels I've stayed at.

The only minor negative was the cleaning of the rooms everyday. I appreciate the rooms being kept clean and tidy, though it makes it a little awkward if you're wanting to stay in the room for a bit.

Great atmosphere, it has a very good breakfast, the view of Bergen is awesome. Everybody was helpful and polite. Really liked the coffee and Cookies available in the afternoon, and the fact that there is a Kitchen available. It is possible to wasch and dry clothes. It’s outside of the City center, but with a good connection by Bus.

The ladder of the bunk bed it’s too little which makes it difficult to climb it. The curtains in the room are too small and they let the light through, with the Long days in the Summer it’s difficult to sleep with so much light, so this could be improved with darker, Blackout curtains in the room.

Staff was extra nice, rooms are clean, showers and all facilities are clean. Location is a bit remote from the city center but only a 20 minutes bus ride from the central station and it brings you closer to the Ulriken / Vidden trail start. The view from the hostel is beautiful.

Rooms are a bit small if the hostel is fully booked i think (3 persons in a 4 persons room was fine however). The lockers are too small to fit a whole bag so you have to pick items that you want to keep locked in. Also, padlocks are available for free but you need to make a deposit (100nok).

It's a nice hostel. The rooms are clean, cleaned every day. In the building there is a laundry room, kitchen, and the price includes breakfast. Friendly staff.

I lived in a room for 4 people, the room is very small for that many people. There is no closet for clothes. But what I didn't like the most was the shower, which is built into the wall, you can't remove it. This is a very stupid decision, because if you want to wash yourself lightly (women will understand what we are talking about), you will have to do it completely together with your head. It's very uncomfortable. The hostel is on the mountain, so if you are with suitcases, you will have to work hard or hire a cab.
