There is another Citybox hotel in a more touristy part of the city for (too much) more money. This hotel was exactly where it needed to be. Off the beaten path, but a whistler away from city’s core. The tram is steps away and within a small handful of stops you’re right downtown. I live in a big city myself, so understanding properties like these are always the better value and experience. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It was absolutely perfect for exploring all of Bergen.

The only “gripes” I may have had was the the restaurant was a HUGE rip off and I do not recommend it, although it is a third party, but still connected enough. Definitely skip out on Ja Ja restaurant if you don’t want to be ripped off. Our shower gel dispenser was empty the entire time we stayed there which was unfortunate because when I went to the front desk to ask if it can be replenished no one was at the office (which happens, as it’s a smaller office and I totally understand that much) but we had to go out and purchase our own which I did not appreciate. We had daily room service and I hoped that the room service would check this. They did not.

Very good value for money by Bergen standards. Room was advertised so no unpleasant surprises. Bed was comfortable, sound insulation good, check in and check out was without problems. You can book breakfast in the adjoining restaurant, there you can also have lunch and dinner if you want. If eating in the restaurants is out of your budget hotel offers a space where you can eat your own meal, there is a refrigerator, microwave, sink to wash your dishes, single use utensils and cups, coffee machine. If you have problems, questions there is member of the staff on site (I mention this because check-in and check-out are automated).

Not a drawback but more of the info, the hotel is a bit away from the city center (25 min on foot).

The hotel was absolutely wonderful! The room was clean, cozy, and had excellent soundproofing — I was able to rest peacefully. I really appreciated the self check-in through the terminal — it was quick, easy, and modern. Despite this, the staff was available and happy to help if needed. For instance, they kindly provided me with an umbrella when I asked. The location was also very convenient: close to restaurants, a tram line that takes you both to Bergen city center and the airport, and a large supermarket nearby. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the excellent service!☺️

It would’ve been nice to have a small wardrobe for storing clothes.

Simple Hotel with modern comfortable room and bed. . Small lounge area with basic self-catering facilities ie; Microwave, Full length fridge. Wooden cutlery, paper plates provided. Self-service check-in. On duty staff member to provide any assistance. Luggage storage room. 2 Supermarkets, one 30 metres away and another nearby. Restaurant on-site and others nearby. Pleasant 4 nights and convenient for transport.The Bergen Lite Bahn ( Tram ) between Airport and City stops here at stop Danmarksplass. Nice walk into City through a lovely Park.

Everything was fine.

The room was very modern, clean, and spacious! They provide towels, shampoo, and hand soap. There’s also a heater in the room and you can open your window. The bedding was super comfy and nice. There’s a microwave and kettle with kitchenware in the common area. The hotel in general was very nicely decorated, clean, and modern. There’s a grocery store a min away. Keep in mind to walk from the bus station it takes 25 min and to get to the main things in town it takes 35 min. You can also take public transport though if you don’t want to walk.

It’s not really in the center so if you want to walk it’s a bit of a hike but still doable.

The area, while busy was comfortable to walk in. The access to public transportation was excellent. This was a big plus for me as my sister was in a hospital in Bergen. I felt safe. The staff was wonderful. I’m from the US and do not know Norwegian. The staff helped me understand the transportation, were helpful with my questions and very fast solving a shower problem I had.

This is not really a didn’t like. But remember this is a hotel in a city. It is purpose built and you are not going to get a lot of great views. You will see a lot of traffic.

Walking distance 2km to city centre. Close to public transport (bus, train to airport). Quiet. The size of the room is really minimalistic, but just right enough and useful, without standard chair. Parking and grocery shop (open also on sunday) nearby. Fast and reliable internet. Clean comfortable bathroom.

Don´t go there if you prefer 1) harder matrasses - really too soft bed. 2) fresh air - openable window is really small 3) quiet - building is 4/5 surrounded by roads, frenquently used roundabout and underground parking

Great location. Nice room. Really cozy common rooms. Great to have available kitchen facilities. There are two grocery-stores very close to the Hotel. Three minutes to walk to "Bybanen" the city tram-line that takes you to the city centre in about 5 minutes (there is an app that lets you buy tickets online). This City-Box gave really good value for money. The adjacent JaJa restaurant sold amazing food in a very relaxing and beautiful atmosphere. In the basement there is an Indian restaurant that seemed very popular.

The JaJa restaurant where the breakfast is served is really cozy, and the staff is great. The breakfast itself wasn't impressive compared to other hotel-breakfasts in Norway. For example only one type of bread (toast), one type of juice, one type of yoghurt, one type of milk. Non cakes, biscuits etc. The only hot option was scrambled eggs. The drop in price for the breakfast is reasonable (165 kroner and 99 for children). Had I known, I would not have booked with breakfast included, and instead just paid for breakfast one or two days and gone somewhere else for the rest of the week or fixed my own in the nice kitchen facilities.

I love the citybox beds. Veldig koselig. And the shower pressure has always been excellent. The autofill detergent in the laundromat is handy. I love having a little nest to feel contained within. I like the person who was housekeeping on my floor

Maybe I misunderstood. But I would love a way to pay for the laundry directly, rather than to have to sign up for AirWallet. Also, you need a Norwegian number, or in-country number to sign in. I think. Or maybe you just need access to sms (to verify opening an account). And sometimes an international traveler might have a previous european data-only card from prior to entering Norway, and might not have registered for a Norwegian sms number, and therefore might not have been able to verify/open an account/do laundry. I only happened to have a Norwegian number because my first euro data card ran out while in Norway, so I registered for an sms number (per Norway's regulations) while in country.

Citybox Bergen provides you with a place to rest once you’re done with the numerous fjord tours offered in Bergen. This is a hostel so don’t expect 24-hours concierge service. We had the family room and the beds were comfortable enough. The hostel has a common area which included a kitchenette if you need to warm up and/or store food. You can’t cook here but there is a laundry room for your laundry and ironing needs.

It can be loud as there were constructions outside.
