I really enjoyed my stay at Citibox Oslo. The room was small, but I expected that. The location was fantastic! So close to the train station and easy to navigate to. I also loved the common areas. They had thought of everything a traveler needed. Shared kitchen with fridge, kettle and microwave, laundry, games room, TV room, lounges.

Nothing major. As I said room was small, but that was expected (budget room) and it allowed me to stay in the heart of the city for an affordable price.

In short; This place is a hidden gem amongst hotels in Oslo. The long version; I travel a lot for work and have stayed at pretty much every 4* and 5* hotel in Oslo and many in Europe. I like to try new places to visit. First of all the hotel is extremely cheap. The room and bathroom are clean and modern. The beds are very comfortable. The facilities are great. And you could not ask for a better location. There is one building separating the hotel from the Opera and you can actually see Oslo S (which is right next to it) from the room i’m staying in at 5th floor. There is a supermarket literally 20m away from the hotel. It’s the small things that add up that makes this hotel so great. The air circulation in the rooms are great and in the hotel in general. The rooms are quiet. You do not hear your neighbors. There is a vending machine in the kitchen area (where you can make your own food and store food in the refrigerator) with snacks and drinks and the prices are, surprise surprise, cheap as well. A soda for example costs 32kr. Which usually costs 45kr in the other 3/4/5* hotels I’ve stayed at. So, basically no difference in price from the supermarket. There is a huge coffe machine in which you can get unlimited espresso/caffe latte’s/cappuccino and what have you for free. This hotel is for everyone. I saw single business people staying here, families, couples. and travelers. It’s just one of those hotels that has this vibe where everything just works.

Perfect for the Tons of Rock festival. Tram stop by the front door that takes you right there on the #13. 5 minutes walk from the main train station also. Great coffee shops on two corners of the block. Joker 7-11 type shop 1 block along the road. Rooms were clean, although you are left alone and the cleaners only come once a week. Handy for shopping and pubs. 5-10 mins walk to Munch museum and boat tours. Thought electronic check in might be a chew but it was easy - they SMS you a reference number on check in day - enter this and you’re good to go. Got two keys no problem. Staff are available and friendly if you need anything. Make sure you are at the right block before you head upstairs.

Didn’t like the lifts. Got stuck one night, the emergency button rang and rang and no-one came. Ended up having to force the door open, which was a lucky escape. Used the stairs from then on.

The location is excellent, the rooms are clean. The check in and out is fast and simple. Quick access to train, tram, bus, harbor, anything,

The rooms are small, at least compared to central Europe. Not disturbingly small, but a bit small. However, it worth that money. The only really disturbing fact is the absence of glasses. If you want to drink from a decent ( not cardboard) glass, you have to buy one, which is totally insane. When you pay 960 euro for a week or less, you expect to have at least two glasses in a room. How much could cost a glass ? Two euros ? However, for Norway, the prices are fair and the place is very good. I would go again for sure.

This hotel is great. The best thing about it is its location: it is a few minute walk from the Central station and from Oslo’s main street - Karl Johan. It is also very close to the Opera House and all the other main attractions, and the tram station is right in front of the hotel. This is a super convenient hotel, everything is self-service. The room is small, but the bed fits two pretty comfortably and the bathroom is very good with strong shower pressure and heated flooring.

The only suggestion is to install automatic lockers for luggage storage instead of the room in which people leave luggage at their own risk.

Great location, and overall pretty good for basic needs. Instead of a closet, they have a wall with large or small pin-shape hooks, which I found pretty convenient, especially if you have bags. So I ended up having several bags of daily items that I can quickly access to. Knowing what's offered in the kitchen could help better plan for the trip: one can get yogurt, fruits from stores nearby, which is pretty good already. Bring a thermal bottle is also helpful if you'd like to make tea or coffee in the room. There are many nice seating places in the common area.

The "kitchen" is actually a big, shared refrig, and an electric kettle, plus disposable dining wares. One can do instant noodles and that's it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the CityBox in Oslo. It is one the best budget hotels that we have stayed in and we thought it was great value for the price. We booked the Double Room, which was well set up and had enough space. We never felt cramped and it was great to have a view and window that opened onto the street. We noticed that the room was very clean, which we appreciated. It was super easy to get more towels, the staff were very obliging. The check in and check out process was also very simple and quick. The location was unbeatable, close to the train station, with a tram stop outside and everything within walking distance. It was easy to find nearby places to get breakfast in the morning. Provided that you are ok to go without the luxuries offered by other hotels, we would highly recommend staying here. We would return if we go back to Oslo.

Nothing but it’s important to set expectations for the CityBox - there is no TV, no fridge or kettle in room, no daily housekeeping or changes of bedsheets etc.

Check in process was easy to follow and leaving our luggage in their secure luggage room. The location was excellent, 4 minutes walk from the railway station, lots of shops, restaurants and pubs within 10 minutes walk. Noticed they had tv section and breakfast area although we didn't use either. Beds really comfortable.

The room was really hot when we arrived at 9pm, although the weather was extremely warm for this time of year. There were no electrical sockets at the bunk bed area or reading light- plenty at the main bed section. No other issues.

Location is good very close to city train station and bua terminal. Lot of restaurants around. Shops are around. Having all facilities like restaurant, game zone, guest kitchen, luggage room, coffee machine. Luggage room is free. Tram stop is just outside the hotel entrance. Joker super store is 2 minutes away which is open till 10 pm.

Room size is very small. Small bathrooms. Checkin time is 3 pm is too late...neither can go for city tour nor can rest in the afternoon. Beds are too fluffy. Rubber carpet in the room is harsh on bear feet. No electric kettle or glasses in the room
