Amenities and breakfast

Too much noise at night from noisy guests. I previously requested a very quiet room.

Third time staying and continue to love this hotel. The location is fantastic, 10min walk to the Old Towna and train just outside if needed. The hotel is very clean and the pool, activities are great Breakfast is a big hit, lots to choose from and good times available. Staff are friendly a d helpful. Rooms are spacious and in general the hotel at night is quiet.

Entertainment in evenings was good but the drink prices if not all inclusive are really hugh in comparison to anywhere else in town, nearby bars and cafes, so unless all inclusive wouldn't choose to stay in the hotel in evenings Some extra dun loungers being made available later in the day would be great. The hotel is one of the more expensive and not sure the facilities are reflective of the cost, but we pay it because of the location not the facilities. You could get much more reasonable options

Highly recommend Vila Gale! Very comfortable room with good quality beds and blackout curtains, also found all guests respectful ensuring a good nights sleep, fabulous breakfast including ready to order omlettes and pancakes which were a hit for us. All staff friendly and helpful Fantastic lagoon style swimming pool featuring morning aqua aerobic class which we found great fun, Sun loungers were black which did attract the strong sun though 10 mins walk to the old town, beach and bustling bars and many restaurants where we were spoilt for choice, nice walk! An uber is more suitable for the strip or newtown but under €5 Very thoughtful of Vila Gale to surprise me with cake and wine for my birthday, lovely gesture and appreciated.... Would return again☺️

Trying to find sun loungers

Staff were very friendly, and even brought a cake and bottle of wine up to the room complimentary for my husbands birthday, very nice touch. Excellent spa facilities and a lovely large outdoor pool. Brilliant location within walking distance to old town.

We had breakfast every morning and it had a great selection of food for everyone, including a counter where omlettes and pancakes were made in front of you. It set us up for the day. The pool was a great size and there was lots of space in areas around the pool too. More deckchairs were put out to match demand. The rooms were serviced regularly and kept very clean In terms of the location, it was a 10ish minute walk to the old town and there were loads of well rated restaurants nearby Staff were lovely and were able to organise transfers for us to and from the airport. Staff were also great at communication before we arrived. They also have offers for massages and other treatments at the spa. We had a back, neck, shoulder and leg massage which was great. Our room was a standard room with 2 single beds and looked exactly like the pictures. Air con worked well too.

More use of the spaces and more welcoming lighting as some areas (hallways to the room or -1 level) seemed quite dark and uninviting to areas like the reading area. The pub, the Dog and Duck, was a beautifully kitted out pub but lacked the atmosphere and the people. Unsure if this was because people preferred to stay in Old Town or the price of the drinks being a little dearer than Old Town but felt like it was lacking something which was a shame as it was a lovely place to finish the night and the hotel planned for music to be played as well.

The hotel is easy to find and well located, with ample on-site parking. Walking into old town is straightforward and pretty much all downhill. After an evening of eating and drinking, you may well opt to get a taxi back, however. Good selection at breakfast, with very attentive staff (bar one!) making sure everything keeps ticking over. Our room was clean and comfortable and everything was in good working order.

At breakfast, the lady on omelette duty was grumpy and rude with both me and my wife. Perhaps a career where customer interaction is not required would suit her better. Payroll administrator comes to mind.

We were only there for 4 days and could not fault it in any way the staff were so nice attending our eircom broke the day before we went home thet had someone up to the room straight away they asked what could they do for us as we were just feeling the cold we just said a few more blankets be fine and they rang ys back leave all our stuff there choice of 2 rooms and full dinner for the inconvience the dinner was fab we really eenjoyed it and left the staff a tip then as we changed rooms our daughter left her purse with her money in it and there sending it home to ireland free of charge we offered to pay for postage and thry said no they would cover it now i have to say 110% recommend this hotel and if were back we will stay in this hotel again it was spotless clean the indoor pool my daughter loved i used the gym the bar is stunning its lovely warm welcome hotel deffinately stay here and if have kids mc donalds and kfc across the road and theres a shopping centre 3 mis walk and lovely 2 thanks to everyone at the vila gale hotel yee werw truly amazing from the botton of our hearts room 32i0 janice fergal amelia kearney xxx 25th to the 29th of january 2025 x

The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure every detail of my stay was perfect. The highlight of my visit was definitely the pool area each day. The facilities were spotless, and the atmosphere was relaxing and fun. But what really made it special was the entertainment team. They were energetic, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a great time. Whether it was organizing games, leading water aerobics, or just engaging with guests, they truly made the pool experience unforgettable. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, the breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, and the overall vibe of the hotel was warm and inviting.

Pool bar food could be a little better I feel but was ok.

Very clean hotel. Staff very helpful.... nice pool. Spa is 10/10..the girl giving massage is so good. I was so relaxed after. Breakfast was nice...plenty of choice ... lovely fresh pastries and fresh fruit. Only downfall was the cooked breakfast ...it was OK but of course like all foreign holidays its hard to find the sausages the same, no pudding or hash browns... but thats just being picky...other than that it was lovely.

The only thing I would say is I wish the pool was bigger .

Fantastic selection for breakfast, two decent sized outdoor pools, loads of sun beds as long as you get there early, kids club staff were wonderful with our 4 year old. Really reasonably priced bar serving great food through the day. Lovely clean, spacious room with tv and mini fridge. Helpful, friendly staff who always had a smile. Fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from the old town bars and restaurants and the beach. We will definitely be back!

The only thing we wish we had which would improve our stay would be access to an iron and ironing board. We did ask at reception but were told they only had a laundry service, which we didn’t want.
