A warm welcome with drink and pastry. This small hotel is open spaced, so clean and cool. We had a sea view room. Huge, comfortable bed and balcony with lounger and chairs overlooking pool. Initially we were disappointed that there was no “ proper restaurant “ but the most substantial light bites on offer were just perfect, served by brilliant Alexandre. Wonderful breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pool was a good start to the day. We ate at the restaurant associated with the hotel which is situated on the beach and the food and service were first class. We benefited from being there early, 6.30, so found it quiet and with the rolled up plastic windows were still rolled up we had a clear view of the sea. Towards the end of the meal the plastic was rolled down and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant changed. I mentioned this to the waiter and he kindly rolled the window covering up again. It would not have been the same looking out through plastic windows.

The toilet and shower were an integral part of the bedroom with just a sink unit separating the bed from the facilities. No privacy. People were putting towels on loungers before breakfast. There are not enough loungers to accommodate every guest, should everyone decide to have a day at the pool. This was not a problem during our short stay. Initially I was disappointed that the sun loungers on the beach..no more than 5 minute walk across the road….were fully booked , but when we went to look at the beach we were so disappointed that we were glad to spend the day at the hotel. Why leave calm, clean, attractive surroundings to sit on a very small, crowded, noisy beach? The other thing to mention is that if you want to eat in the nearest town it is a good 40 minutes walk. We got a taxi back.

Breakfast was very good. Good options and great bread.

There was a coffee machine in the room but the coffee pods and tea sachets were NOT complementary. They were part of the pricey mini bar. In any proper hotel that includes a coffee machine anywhere I've been (from Singapore to Paris) the coffee pods and tea are complementary. I think the hotel management should correct this policy. Also, we got one bottle of natural (non gaseous) water as part of the complementary room set but it was never replenished. As a luxury boutique hotel the least management could do is provide bottled water for the room.

A wonderful boutique hotel near the ocean. The room was comfortable with a small balcony to relax and read at days end. The breakfast was varied with many a la carte options. The service was great as well as the rest of the staff. The pool is large with a gorgeous view. The garden is well kept. The beach is nearby. The hotel reserves sun beds and shades for the guests upon request and it's wonderful!

If you want to relax it could be difficult at times since some guests bring their small children and some can be noisy, which is normal yet, some people might want a quiet place. The bathroom does not have much privacy as it is integrated in the room. People should know that the beach is about a 10' walk down hill.

A quiet location within walking distance to a beautiful beach where you can find covered loungers for rent with ample food and drink options available. Hotel room itself was clean and comfortable although not particularly large. Hotel's pool area a highlight with sufficient loungers for all to enjoy sun bathing; the gym was also well-equipped. The delicious breakfast was a highlight as were the dinners we enjoyed every night in downtown Carvoeiros. Would stay here again without hesitation. This review would not be complete without mentioning the very friendly and helpful hotel staff members.

Great staff! Paolo. Bruno, Ana, Viv and all the reception staff were all great. Breakfast is a major part of the experience that makes it feel luxurious. Large bed with great view of the ocean. The cleaning staff checked in often to see if we needed towels or anything else. Walking distance to a few places, but we had a car which I felt was necessary to really explore.

I wished the pool operating hours were earlier/later. The bed was very firm.

Our stay at Caneiros was extremely comfortable and relaxing!! Very clean and quiet.. Our daily breakfast was always enjoyable poolside ..Ana was great exceptionally attentive and a pleasure to talk to.. We will be back!!

Leaving the property by car was always dangerous on that curve. There should be mirror so you could see oncoming traffic.

Wonderful location with the crashing sound of the waves audible from the beautiful balconies and terraces. Just a few mins walking to the awesome restaurant and beach bar with the perfect sunset views. An absolutely splendid pool. I really like the staff, each person is so genuinely friendly and welcoming. And, they speak so many languages here, it’s impressive! French, Spanish, English and of course the local one. One night we were tired from our journey and so we just dined in the hotel and it was excellent. The second night was at the hotel’s partner restaurant on the beach which is superb, fine dining.

The property is well maintained and modern. Nicely situated in the village of Ferragudo and close to the beach. About a 10 minutes walk, which is considered a short distance. Plenary of parking if you have a rental car. The outdoor pool is right in the center of the property and easily accessible from the main lobby area. Quiet and serene atmosphere. The lobby generally had nice music playing by the bar, however the pool area was quiet. We had two rooms. The suit (room 204) was quite roomy and the kids room next door was nothing special. Breakfast menu was excellent and the kitchen staff amazing and attentive.

The rooms were nice but some things could be freshened up. Specifically, the closets and bathroom. We don’t particularly care for rugs by the beds and the shag rug in the kids room was run down. As mentioned above, some music in the pool area would be nice. Bottled water should have been included in the rooms at no additional cost.

Nice hotel very close to Praia do Caneiros beach (very beautiful beach) and the cozy village of Ferragudo. Portimao and Albufeira are very close. The beaches of Marinha and Benagil are also very close. The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished. Very nice pool for an afternoon swim if you don't want to go to the beach. Excellent breakfast. The staff was very kind and professional (we especially appreciated Catarina and the two breakfast waiters)

It might be nice to review the interior design, to make it more consistent with the 4-5 stars of the hotel

We loved the location as it was so close to the beach and the cliff top walk. It was peaceful but only a short car ride or longer walk down to Ferragudo square. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The facilties were absolutely spotless - our room was turned down everyday which was a lovely treat. The breakfast was great with lots of choice and as much as you can eat!
