Great location, within walking distance of most points of interest to tourists, including bus station but surprisingly quiet. Charming 100-year old villa that has renovated bathrooms and A/C, well-maintained and squeaky clean. There is a lovely garden courtyard with seating to enjoy the occasional good weather and a Nespresso machine available at all times. Decent breakfast buffet with eggs cooked on request. Cheerful staff, eager to assist and provide good suggestions. All in all, brilliant value for money for a few days visit.

I sorely missed having a comfortable armchair in the room - a guest would either sit at a desk or lie in bed. I felt the cold white light above the desk was a poor choice, a bulb with warmer light would make working in the room so much more enjoyable.

Carlos was extremely communicative, helpful and welcoming, sending us tips before we even arrived! The house is a beautiful building in the centre of Guimarães, perfect location being right around the corner from the main squares but also just a 10 minute walk to the bus station. The beds and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The black out blinds and heating meant we slept perfectly. The breakfast was also delicious with a buffet and eggs. The garden at the back was a nice place to sit.

Carlos was our host. he was so quick to respond to any questions. Met us at the appointed time and sent us numerous suggestions for local things to do and places to eat. He was wonderful. The building and apartment were so beautiful and quaint. The breakfast was ample and delicious. there is a garden in the bag that was wonderful for sitting in the late afternoon sun. closely located to lots of activities and numerous restaurant in the local squares. I would definitely return here. well worth the value

Loved it all.

We were located at the apartments called Santa Luzia, close to the hotel (not at the hotel itself). The apartment was really cleaned, with a separated bedroom, and very functional. The location was close to the main attractions points and it was very quiet as well. The breakfast from the hotel was good. The host Carlos made our trip more enjoyable by recommending nice places to go to, as well as free park spaces close to the location (which was very useful!). Highly recommended for a nice stay in the city.

Nothing it was perfect.

The staff was wonderful. The hotel is very centrally located and we were able to easily find parking. Carlos in particular made our stay absolutely delightful. He met us at the beginning when we were a little lost about which way to go and parking rules. He was available by WhatsApp to communicate with us throughout our stay arranging dinner, reservations for us and helping us with exploration plans. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the central location. The staff were very helpful, Carlos gave us lovely recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. We were able to whatsapp when we needed his assistance and he was very quick to respond.

It would have been nice to have a fridge or a kettle in the room. It was advertised as having a courtyard view- we only saw a small corner of the courtyard- the rest of the view was a wall with an air-conditioner.

My stay at the hotel was nothing short of extraordinary, with the staff, especially Carlos, going above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The breakfast was an absolute delight, with a variety of delicious options that left me eagerly anticipating each morning. Coupled with the charm and vibrancy of the city, which I can confidently say is the best I've ever visited, this experience was truly unforgettable.

Location is excellent for access to the old town. Rooms were comfy and clean. Breakfast selection was good. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Due to the size of the seating area we sometimes had to queue for breakfast. Not the end of the world if you are not in a rush to get anywhere.

Excellent opulent old home converted into a hotel set in an excellent location. The breakfast is great value and Carlos was an exceptional host. Everything was in place for our 6-month old daughter also. We really enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Guimaraes and the wider area!

It was fantastic.

It's hard to leave a place like this. All the staff were the friendliest I'd ever met. Breakfast to the maximum extent of diversity that such a small hotel has to offer. The hotel itself was beautiful, tidy, rooms clean, a bathroom up to the standards of the 21st century. There's no need to write about the city, I encourage everyone to visit.
