Good choice, especially if you participate in a conference taken place in the Palace close to there. Very clean, good breakfast.

I think that it misses some amenities in the room. A complimentary bottle of water could be offered or slippers could be provided in the room for such cost of accommodation.

The facility met our needs- convenient location, secure parking. The restaurant was tasty but they really need to add more staff- one woman was working the entire place- and that didn’t seem fair to us, our fellow dinners or even the solo server. Wifi was not working for first half of our stay- but reception staff honored their promise to get it fixed later in the day. Very nicely sound proofed- we were on a lower level- facing a busy street and heard next to nothing! Common areas were nicely maintained with lots of comfortable seating!

A little extra lighting in the hallways would be nice- felt cave like.

Hotel de Guimaraes is a corporate hotel. The room we had was very spacious and comfortable. The shower was large and good and the bathroom area was large. The bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was varied and good. The reception staff were extremely helpful and we had an excellent meal one evening attended by a very friendly and helpful waiter - who recommended a superb white wine.

It was a bit of a walk from the town but that didn't prove too much of a problem. There was nowhere to hang the towels in the bathing area.

The room was very spacious, the bed was huge and very comfortable. I enjoyed the fact that there was a bath not just a shower. The bar, restaurant and lounge areas were very nice, tastefully decorated with very comfortable seating. Location was great, a short walk to town and there is plenty of free parking at the hotel.

As always we had to ask for a room change as we looked out onto four air conditioner units and a pile of concrete. Whenever we book through booking.com we seem to end up in the worst room of the hotel although the hotels are usually very good at changing the rooms for us. We are supposed to be genus 2 level which we read somewhere entitles us to a room upgrade, free breakfast and discount on the rooms. We don't receive any of these so what benefit is genus 2 level to us?

Bed super comfortable. All staff very helpful and spoke English. Secure free parking in garage. Location idea for town centre and train station. Later less than a 10 minute walk away.

Slow service in restaurant at dinner. Wi-fi terrible. Although says Fast wi-fi it was so slow, and kept dropping. If you have low ground clearance on your car, don't use the rear exit when leaving the garage parking. Kerb drop onto road a good 15+ cms.

The rooms isolation could be better. The room next to mine had a family with children and I could hear when they started screaming or crying.

Perfect service at the bar during late night. Great selection at the breakfast buffet. Nice and clean hotel, friendly staff.

There is a big construction site just next the hotel (land scaping for new railways I guess?). No fresh juice at the breakfast (only post mix sirup).

On the first night there was a problem with one of the mattress (to soft). The staff substitute it as soon as feasible for an harder one. Always friendly and helpful.

Jus a suggestion: The automatic light on the bathroom should have the possibility of being switched off or regulated for a lower brightness (specially at night).
