1. Staff - they are very helpful, attentive, and great at multitasking. The one person working the front desk is also preparing the morning beverages. When the aircon in our room broke down at night, they had it fixed the next day. There gave me a cup of hot water for tea whenever I asked. 2. Location - in front of train station that takes you to Porto. Also steps away from Vila Flor garden and a supermarket. Ten minute walk to city center. Restaurants next door. Safe area but I found all of Guimaraes to be safe. 3. Coffee- my husband loved the free coffee that came with breakfast 4. Housekeeping- used towels were changed every day. They make the bed. 5. Bathroom- clean and spacious. Very good water pressure. This is a 2 star hotel so manage your expectations. For me, it exceeded my expectations for a 2 star hotel!

The hallway and stairway lights are motion sensored. The place can look dark. The sensors are not very fast in detecting movement so you may be in the dark for a second or two. Free breakfast is mostly a variety of sweet baked goods. The sink faucet in bathroom was loud when in use. There was no sink and tub plug. I wish there was an electric kettle in the room.

It’s a home style hotel with a personal touch. Felt welcomed from check-in. The hotel is conveniently located next to the train station and a short walk to the old town of Guimarães. Walking distance to two supermarkets nearby. The staff were very friendly and always available. They were responsive and helpful on all requests. The room with balcony was small but functional with good insulation, keeping the room warm in winter. The heating unit was sufficient and yet did not make the air too dry. The room was cleaned daily. TV with many channels including several English ones. The breakfast offered a good selection of eggs, meat, cheese, bread, pastry and fruits. The coffee was freshly made upon confirming the preference, a nice touch of the hospitality. Not a fancy hotel but it’s a great value for a simple stay. Highly recommend.

The electricity outlet in room is limited. It would be nice to have an adapter to make a few more outlets available.

Exceptionally clean older hotel with real air conditioning, friendly staff and reasonable breakfast.

The shower temperature was constantly changing and could not be stabilized and the bathroom sink tended to blast water too easily. The bidet did not have this issue. We booked a triple room which in hindsight was a double room with a real bed squeezed in and not enough suitcase space as a result. We would book a single and a double next time to solve this issue.

The staff were extremely friendly. Our room was cleaned with fresh linens and towels daily. The beds were comfortable and bathroom updated. Water pressure was excellent and lots of hot water. It's a small friendly hotel near the train station and a 10-15 min walk to the old city centre. This hotel was good value for the price I paid.

Breakfast was mediocre at best BUT the coffee was excellent.

The hotel was good for it's price. It provides all that you need in order to have somewhere to sleep and explore the general area. The parking in the front wasn't that big but the free municipal parking nearby serves really well. The rooms were clean and the staff really helpful, especially when it came to some issues with the locals.

The humidity ruining the ceiling is something that should be taken care of in the near future as it can a turnover for some, especially if they are sensitive to this during sleep. The parking spots in front of the hotel need some better organization so that more cars can fit in there.

Nice, comfortable room with a large balcony and nice view over nearby valley. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was great with old center of town within walking distance. There were good restaurant nearby.

The exterior of our hotel was quite modest and a worn out, but we were pleasantly surprised of our room and everything else. The breakfast was a bit limited and simple, but tasty never the less.

The location next to the train station and bus stops for the buses to and from historic Guimaraes, it's also a reasonable walk, if you don't mind the climb on the way back! The staff in the hotel are very polite and helpful, the rooms are a bit dated but everything works and is well maintained. Breakfast is good with a range of cheese, meat, bread and pastries. There are a restaurant and a cafe either side of the hotel and a few metres walk away another bar and restaurant. I thought the hotel was good value for money too.

The hotel is noisy at times, I'm not sure if much can be done because of the age of the building but if the rooms could be better soundproofed it would help.

The hotel staff is exceptionally nice! The receptionist'll willingly help you, but at the same time, you'll not be disturbed in any way. My room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and an AC (which was a life-saver during hot days). Regarding the location - the hotel is close to the city center and the bus station. I highly recommend this place (especially taking into account the price) :)

The hotel staff was very nice and always willing to help. Daily (!) cleaning of rooms, including: making beds, daily replacement of towels and waste bins, washed shower, sink and toilet. Nice view of the city from the balcony. Very good Internet connection.

This is a very nice and comfortable hotel in a good location. The room was clean, airy, full of natural light and spacious, and it had a small fridge The continental breakfast was very correct (paistery, fruits, very good bread, cereal, yogurt, eggs, coffee and tea, industrial juices, sausages, ham, cheese, jams and butter). The staff is very friendly and the relation price-quality just excellent.
