Fab location, lovely people and excellent facilities.

A bit of a trek into town. Need to be fit to walk back especially in the 35c temperatures! Shared kitchen and lounge facilities were great but could be an issue if other guests don’t respect ‘sharing’ - was not an issue for us but a point worth being aware of. Double bed a bit smaller than we are used to 😂

The rooms are beautiful: extra-comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished. There are two rooms which share a separate kitchen, living room and terrace, and there was no-one else there with me, so I had the whole space to myself. There's a little wooden building in the car park that operates as a well-stocked bar in the evening, and offers excellent coffee in the morning. The location is peaceful and you can walk into Lamego but you need good legs, as the 'short cut' is down (and up) the baroque staircase of the Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios (to either side of the staircase is woodland and other pathways). The staff could not have done more to ensure my comfort.

We had a wonderful time staying 4 x nights in the guest house. We had it to ourselves. Clara and Nuno were fabulous hosts. Friendly, welcoming and funny! Great wines and port on offer at the bar. We loved Lamego and would definitely like to stay again if we are ever in the area.

The place is beautiful and comfortable. We loved having an entire apartment, and especially the beautiful terrace. The proprietors are very nice and helpful, and gave us good tips on things to do. The grounds are awesome, even though it was tough for us to walk into town.

We would have liked breakfast. The walk down the 660 monastery steps into town was a bit challenging for a 70-year-old with a bad knee, although it was fun to do it!

The atmosphere, the welcoming.

From pictures I got the impression that they have a restaurant but I was mistaken. We managed well anyway. 617 steps down to the restaurants in town and 617 steps back prepared us for a good night’s sleep.

Host gave a good overview of the local wineries. The rooms were spacious and we had the whole floor for ourselves. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hosts made our stay enjoyable.

It was the big surprise of our trip: we had not expected to find a top quality room with a fully equipped living room when we booked a room in a camping hotel. A detail, but we very much liked the woven logo in the towels and bed sheets...

Fantastic and freshly renovated place with a distinct character. We stayed in a room which had access to a kitchen and a terrace. Located within a short walking distance from the sanctuary complex. Parking lots designated to the guests with cars/campers by Carla, who is an amazing hostess. A cosy outdoor bar on the territory and a lovely and friendly dog named Goonga.

Nothing. All brilliant.

Everything was very good. Walking distance to the monastery, and then 1000 steps down to town, and taxi back. Nice dinner in the garden. Outdoor, but partly covered . In October a jacket needed. Everything very well organized. The terrain is hilly.
