Every part of our stay was brilliant. The staff couldn't do more for us and very friendly. We had booked a room with a private pool and it was fantastic, a completely relaxing little haven. We ate a few times in the evening at the restaurant which is a set daily menu of 3 courses and we also did the on-site wine tasting which I would highly recommend. The other thing we did was order the picnic one evening which was lovely, all freshly prepared and delivered in picnic baskets to our room. Perfect romantic and intimate couples holiday!

This place is absolutely superb! From the initial contact prior to our visit, to the final farewell there is a commitment to excellence and attention to detail in everything. The location is charming - nestled in the vineyards and a short walk down to the river. There's a lovely range of amenities to use. The staff are totally wonderful - constantly attentive to ensure everything is perfect and to help with anything. The food and wines are superb. Highly recommend the wine tasting with Pedro - a master of his craft. The Quinta is beautiful, lovely design , gorgeous rooms and views, and relatively small so never feels overcrowded or over busy at all. We were expecting a lovely place but this surpassed our high expectations and then some. Its pretty close to perfection! Cannot recommend highly enough.

Nothing at all! Only suggestion would be slightly larger double beds, and to add some light snacks to the very generous wine tasting!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The entire staff was welcoming, warm and helpful and the property is spectacular. As soon as we stepped into the place, we cancelled all plans to go anywhere else during our time in the Douro valley. From the charming, comfortable rooms to the expert and engaging in-house wine tasting to the unforgettable gourmet dinner in the greenhouse to our outing on the river hosted by the owner himself, everything about Quinta Sao Bernardo was exceptional. The highlight of our entire trip to Portugal, by far!!

We were blown away by this property - it’s really beautiful! The building has been renovated & furnished beautifully, the owner & staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and its position along the Douro River is stunning! Wow …. the wines and food were absolutely DELICIOUS - the chef is top class! We’ve fallen in love with this spot and will be back (all the way from South Africa)!

We loved everything! If there was a slight negative it would have to be that the “bathroom” is very small and that the basin is in the bedroom but it certainly didn’t detract from our stay!

The hotel is in a very nice location, though further away from the main "towns" of the region. All the common areas are excellent, the heated pool a real treat, AMAZING breakfast and something worth mentioning, they offer many indoor activities like board games and a pool table (important when the weather is not the best like in our case). Everyone is extremely polite and helpful! We loved our stay there!

The room was super clean with a beautiful decoration and attention to little details. Comfortable bed, very quiet. I would like the bathroom to have some heating because it was a bit cold. Also, for this price per night, I would expect the small wine tasting activity to be included in the price.

I cannot recommend Quinta De S. Bernardo enough. The entire property is absolutely magical. The view from anywhere on the property of the Douro River is breathtaking. We stayed in the Private pool villa and it was very spacious with electric curtains you could raise in the morning with a remote to a perfect view of the mountains and river while enjoying an early morning in bed. The staff was also incredible. All of them were very personable and so accommodating. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. The dinners were also delicious. We never ate lunch but I am sure it is just as wonderful.

This place is absolutely magical. The property is stunning, but it's the character of the place and the vibe that made it special to me. You feel pampered and in a luxury environment without it being stuffy. You can casually meander down to the river and grab a kayak, take some yoga mats to the deck, or take bikes out and head to the nearest vineyard. Plus excellent food, service, and views. They got all of the details just right.

What is there not to like? Joao and Marcela were brilliant, always smiling, always helpful. The food was amazing, the wine was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and the things to do were brilliant. We’re planning on coming back next year!

Apart from the big hills when cycling the wrong way (nothing to do with the Farmhouse! :-) ) we can’t fault this. My wife Nic said it was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in - and we’ve travelled a fair bit!!

We had an amazing stay at this property. The property itself is set on the most beautiful vineyard. The hosts are happy to help with any request which was super helpful when travelling with our 11 month old. The staff and the owners were all so kind to him which we really appreicated. We tried the greenhouse dinner which was AMAZING, both the food and host made our evening very speical. I also had a massage which was very relaxing and would recommend to others. It is rare to have such great hosts with an amazing property. We also really like the fact the owners were there everyday working alongside everyone else. I think it is what must keep the service as such an extremely high level.

The Quinta de S.Bernardo was an absolutely amazing experience. The hotel staff were extremely tentative, serviced-minded and friendly and the team really made us fell like we were home. The facilities were beautiful and the nature surrounding the hotel was breath-taking. The food was equally wonderful. We enjoyed the pool, but also that there were possibilities to do activities such as kayaking, biking, etc. Overall it was a excellent experience! We will be coming back :)

We have very little improvements to provide - if we were to say one thing it would be an upgrade to the gym area, but this was overall also good :)
