The property overall is beautiful. You can tell that the owners are proud of their accommodations based on how charming each space is decorated. Very homey. Our 3-person room was spacious with comfortable clean beds. I appreciated the large wardrobe that accommodated our suitcases. The bathroom was huge with good water pressure in the shower. We had a roomy balcony with very comfortable furniture. Great space to hang out. The breakfast was tasty and served in a charming room. Love that our car was parked on property behind a secured gate so we didn't have to worry about leaving personal items inside. Check in was quick and friendly. Wifi worked perfect.

I'm struggling to find any faults. It would have been nice to have an elevator but the person (owner?) who checked us in carried my mom's suitcase up for her ... so the lack of elevator is not really an issue.

Beautiful property with lots of original features. Well maintained and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we received a lovely welcome with cake and water in our room. The pool and hot tub were lovely, and we enjoyed using them every day. The honesty fridge by the pool was great as it was a hilly walk to the shop.

The 10 minute walk back to the hotel as it was very steep. We wanted to stay in on the last night as we had been out all day on a wine tour, it was really hot and we didn't fancy the hilly walk down to town and up again. Unfortunately, there was no takeaway possible, so we had to do without food. It would be a good idea for the guest house to offer something like a cheese and meat board for anyone not wanting to go out to eat.

We loved our room overlooking the Douro valley. The property is gorgeous , very quiet, very safe surrounded by walls and a gate. The rooms are very comfortable and an excellent breakfast is included. There is a lovely pool but it was too cool to swim but it has a large and very beautiful yard with various places to sit, and orange trees Overlooking the olive orchard. Just a wonderful place.

There was nothing at the property. We had some trouble finding a restaurant that was open in the town.

This is a lovely, family-owned and run Quinta, which I can truly recommend! We were kindly welcomed, there is plenty of space to relax (living room, porch with a view of the river, by the pool), and you feel like you’re in an oasis of calm! We also thought the breakfast was lovely - fresh and generous, including eggs cooked to order. I don’t necessarily recommend walking from town with rolling baggage as the hill is quite steep, but once you’ve dropped off your bags, it’s a nice walk down to restaurants and the train station. If you need a car to go elsewhere, such as to wine tastings, they are happy to call a reputable taxi for you!

wonderful welcome from the family owners, gorgeous room in an idylic spot overlooking beautiful pool and gardens. A steep but short walk down into Regua and very convenient private parking within the property with great security for the m/c we travel on. It feels like a family home full of treasure and comforts, and just a great stay and good value. Breakfast good and the whole vibe is very relaxed. Such lovely people who looked after us so well. Just a great place to base yourself to explore the Douro River valley

I liked that it was a guest house rather than hotel, with family running it. Very friendly. Well positioned to explore the Douro valley.

Breakfast was very scanty. If you didn’t get there early enough, there wasn’t much left and it wasn’t replenished. My son asked for three eggs and was refused and told that there was a limit of two eggs per person. Really? How much is an egg? The worst breakfast we had in Portugal. The room was also quite tiny.

Very comfortable room, a lovely garden and excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. A delightful stay.

The entrance to the property is a little tricky - the automatic gate is immediately adjacent to a main road, so, on first arriving, one has to get out of one's vehicle to ring the house bell. Once checked in guests are given a remote control to operate the gate, but it remains a little awkward, with one's vehicle protruding onto the road whilst waiting for the gate to open.

This is a beautiful home that the host grew up in. The rooms are huge with a large bathroom as well. Unlike many of the small rooms we had in city hotels. The breakfast was excellent, the poolside a great place to relax after a day of travel. When you reserve, ask if you can have a room with a balcony facing the mountains.

Make sure you do some research about restaurants in the town 5 minutes below. There are a few very good ones but we had no reservations. We did get lucky which I’m sure happens every night but it’s best to call ahead to be sure. The other thing I was not aware of, this hotel is 16 km from Pinhau. It’s still a well situated spot to visit Douro and if you want to be near to the A24 Highway out of the area then much better than being in Pinhau.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this beautiful guest house. Exceptional staff, great breakfast, pool lovely although not a lot of shade and the ground tiles were very hot to walk on, comfortable beds, spacious bedroom and bathroom. Loved everything about this property.

Nothing. Liked everything about the property. The only thing I would say is the walk into the town was down a steep pathway or around a busy road. It is doable if fit and healthy.

Lovely oasis walkable to the main town, but cleverly tucked away on a hillside behind a gate - this property was comfortable and felt a little like a tiny 'resort' with great landscaping, a lovely pool, self-service bar. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were helpful and attentive. Highly recommend! We also loved the cats. :)

We arrived an hour before checkin and were turned away. It would have been nice to be offered at least parking for our car even if the room was not ready.
