I was at the hotel during the power outage, for an international flight the next day. When we first arrived the hotel was operating on a generator and the lobby was filled with misplaced people and their luggage as they utilized the internet to make arrangements. Every one of the hotel staff handled this very difficult situation amazingly well! They were ALL kind, compassionate and professional as they helped scores of desperate people. As a guest, they did their utmost to make our stay safe and comfortable under extremely difficult circumstances, and they succeeded beautifully. Thank you!

The hotel staff was wonderful, including their willingness to help us drop the car off the night before our flight home (and they were 100% right to recommend that!). The shuttle service to the airport was super easy and every 15 minutes. We also loved the small bottles of port in the room---the perfect end to an amazing trip to Portugal. Room was a tiny bit small, but given it was for 1 night that was fine. Nice and quiet, too. Really, if you have an early morning flight to the US or elsewhere, this is the way to go.

breakfast, very good, lot of selection & starting full service at 4am, fantastic. greta location for airport - 5 mintues walk, & easily used metro to enter city & back.

2 things. 1st - when checked in, was told gym was not 24hr, open from 8am, no good for morning workout (especcially being airport hotel)- needs to be 5am. - but the best was in 1 of the 2 elevators- on a poster - its said guests have access 24hrs to the gym, just come to front desk & sign to take responsible. - Need to make sure the staff know the rules- so they can inform guests 2. Was told in spa by girl- you couldnt enter the pool without a swim cap, & they had some for purchase- the next night, went to use the gym & funny enough 2 people using pool without swim caps? - no piont having rules if they are not enforced.

The hotel facilities are exceptional. The indoor swimming pool/sauna/steam areas are probably the best we’ve come across during our travels (we notified the staff about a small section of the steam room ceiling having detached). The snack bar provides lovely meals. The restaurant is a bit overpriced.

We were really excited for breakfast as we’d seen several reviews using adjectives such as “excellent, phenomenal, and fabulous”. We were disappointed, however, as it was no different to any of the other breakfasts we’d had at other European hotels. The main failure was the fake bacon substitute provided.

Booked this hotel because I arrived at LIS airpot at 2100 and had an 0540 flight out the next morning, so I wanted something exceptionally close to minimize travel time. This hotel was perfect! Easily walkable from arrivals with dedicated zebra crossings, but they also have a shuttle if you have unmanageable luggage or need other accommodations. The staff was so friendly and accommodating at check in, including offering to have a boxed lunch prepared at 0345 because I would miss the included breakfast that started at 0400. Would stay again, if I needed accommodation close to the airport.

The room was great, but the only thing we didn't like is that the bathroom is open to the bedroom. This means little privacy for the toilet or shower, which might not be an issue for some couples, but wasn't ideal for traveling with friends. Everything else about the room was super comfortable, though!

The team were amazing. I always stay with the hotel when I'm travelling through Lisbon. On this occasion I had been stuck in Angola with a 16 hour flight delay, so I only managed to get to the hotel two hours before check out time. I had let the team know that I was delayed, but would like to use the room to freshen up before my next flight. They extended my check out time, got me checked in super quickly, and I even managed breakfast. The Melia is one of my favorite hotels, and is certainly the best airport hotel, anywhere. The rooms are lovely and breakfast is great, but it's the team at the hotel that make it as good as it is. They're superb.

Location by the airport was all we were looking for - this was nice. Out of four hotels in Portugal, this one had the BEST bed! Reception was fabulous, especially after having just had to deal with the country-wide power outage fiasco. You CAN walk to the airport if the line to the shuttle is too long and you don't have too much luggage.

We needed dinner at 9:00 PM, but they only offered a buffet at the (empty) restaurant, and the bar was Packed, so we had to wait for a table. We just wanted a burger and should have probably just ordered room service. The morning airport shuttle runs every 15 minutes, but can only take 8 people at a time. If there are 9 in line, you may as well just walk. Not sure how I feel about the see-through bathroom...

Breakfast was provided at a hotel across the way for those of us with very early flights, extremely appreciated. The room was very comfortable and when I had a problem with the electrical outlets not providing electricity, a technician was quickly sent to my room to fix the problem. The room was also spacious and had a coffee maker, electric kettle and fridge, all very useful to have. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for those flying out of the Lisbon airport. The hotel even provided a shuttle bus although the airport is a 5-minute walk.

The bathroom area didn't have a towel rack for a hand towel. Otherwise, the room had everything I needed.

Beautiful hotel all the amenities pools in and out, spa, gym. Most comfortable bed we had in two weeks in Portugal and Spain!! Room very clean had everything! Location 5 minute walk from terminal one, also shuttle every 15mins in early morning. Dinner and buffet breakfast were very good. Highly recommend, look forward to staying again!!

Only two repair items for the room told on departure and staff said they would work on it right away. One wall plug had broken single pin making the bedside plug unusable, second the magnifying mirror in the bathroom was loose on the wall about to fall off.
