The location of this place was incredible and the breakfast was top notch. Loved the fact that our room had a balcony overlooking the street and also Praca da Figueira square. Beds we comfy and this hostel was more chill than other hostels. The staff was very accommodating as well and great to chat with. Would definitely recommend! I was working remotely and there was a nice quiet area just to the left of reception.

I wish there were more social events to meet people.

Very good location in the center, on a quiet street which means you can actually sleep well at night and even open the window. The common area is a real plus, clean and cosy. The room is also nice and very clean, with a nice view and small balcony. I had some work meetings to do there and it was great to have a small desk, chair and good wifi in the room.

They put lots of perfume in the room when you first check-in, and at some point you understand they do so because the bathroom has some sewer odors sometimes. Also, the "double bed" is actually two single beds put together ; one of the mattress was very comfy, one was horrible.

The great location and clean environment.

Personally, I don't think the front desk staff provided good service, except for a young lady who assisted me during check-in on the first day. On the final night, when I returned from outside, my room key card didn’t work. I went to the front desk to ask why, and a man checked the information and replied, “It’s working now,” with an indifferent attitude. Is that considered acceptable service in the hospitality industry? It's far below my expectations. Additionally, when I asked about an e-ticket written in Portuguese, the girl didn’t provide any useful information—instead, she made me even more confused. The Wi-Fi was also unstable. I stayed in the lower bunk, and the ceiling was so low that I kept hitting my head.

Great value for money in the center of Lisbon. We booked a double private room, and it came with all the things we needed. The room is big enough for 2, clean, and offered a street view. The best part of this was the hotels location. It’s a 5-10 min walk from most major tourist attractions in the city. All of the hotels staff were friendly and helpful. Considering the price this was a great option and def recommended next time you come to Lisbon!

The only thing we didn’t like is the internet connection/wifi, as you had to reconnect constantly (every 30 min or so). Small tiny problem compared to the positive.

The location of this hostel in Lisbon was truly excellent – right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of the downtown area, the metro station, and many key tourist attractions. It’s definitely in the perfect spot for exploring Lisbon easily. The buffet was pleasant and satisfying, a nice way to start the day. The atmosphere of the hostel is quiet and more suited to families or travelers looking for a peaceful, budget-friendly, and comfortable stay rather than a party or social scene.

One area that could be improved is the staff’s ability to give recommendations or help plan activities. When I asked for advice on places to visit or things to do, the assistance felt limited, as if they weren’t very prepared to guide tourists. Overall, it’s a great place if your priority is a central location and a calm stay at a reasonable price.

The rooms were very modern looking and very clean. I felt the location was very central to the rest of the downtown Lisbon area and amenities. The bathrooms were very sanitary and the water pressure and temperature was also very good to shower with. A map with local sights and popular areas to explore was also available at the front desk. All front desk staff spoke very good English and communicated well.

The Central House allowed new guests to check in at very late times of the night (10:45pm) which disturbed guests who were already settled in trying to sleep for the night. There was also no early check-in allowed despite my room being nearly empty upon arrival. Having a free temporary early bag-check would help guests who arrive with early morning flights, or having earlier check-in times than 3pm would also help.

The hotel lobby staff were very friendly and helpful on my arrival. My flight arrived early, but they were able to get me into my room before the regular check-in time. After I checked in, I went to my room to unpack and rest but found a large puddle on the entryway floor and water dripping from the ceiling. I quickly went back to the front desk to inform them of the situation, and they immediately apologized and gave me a new room on a different floor. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower pressure was great. I also really liked the location as it was close to the elevator to reach the Alfama neighborhood and the train station for my day trip to Sintra.

While the hostel was mostly great, I didn't particularly care for the smell of the hallway or its dirty carpets. I also didn't care for the construction work that was going on across the street from my room. While the hostel couldn't control the construction work, they could ensure the hallway carpets were better cleaned and try to improve the smell a bit.

OMG, I can’t describe my feelings in just one word! Honestly, I was expecting a small house, a typical guesthouse, or a hostel — but when I arrived and saw the entrance, it felt more like a stylish coffee shop! The location is amazing, you can reach everything easily. The staff is incredible — my flight was delayed, so I messaged about a late check-in, and they replied right away. They’re available 24 hours, which is awesome for a hostel! No extra charges. Unless you want extras like a towel (which they clearly mention in advance). I also left my luggage there — it wasn’t free, but it’s super secure, just like a train station locker with a code and card-only payment. I stayed only one night, but I’ll definitely come back again!

As the title says, I used to stay in Central House Lisbon because of; 1. Friendly helpfull staff 2. Great location to stay ; -near Metro/tram station, easy for taxi/Uber rides -restaurants/bars, grocery stores, cultural points nearby 3. Delitious breakfast (for vegans some cucumbers and tomatoes :D ) (pardon my french but I just love mini pastel de natas in yogurt with some honey to end my breakfast :D ) 4. Calm establishment 5. Privacy! (curtains just do their job well but are not sound-proof so if you want some "bed activities", get your own room ;) ) 6. Leave your luggage in luggage boxes for small fee and explore the city 7. Cool place to spend some time while waiting before departure, charging your phone, reading a book (cool if it's 35 degrees outside :) ) I believe there's some more things but those are let me say main reasons to stay here every time I'm in Lisbon. Definitely recommending... to modest, normal travelers. :)

Well... after rich breakfast some stomach ache (call me "culturally fullfilled" or fat but I just can't resist to those itsy bitsy tinny pastel de natas... in company with other pastries :D). Everything was great!
