RESTAURANT: foods were just excellent BED was very comfortable: we had in total 4 different hotels in Madeira and in this hotel the beds were the best, the most comfortable the RECEPTIONIST was very nice, kind and helpful my and my son enjoyed the POOL very much as well there is a lovely GARDEN by it and cute little farm, we are in love with the white hairy rabbit they have! I chose this hotel close to the airport for the last night, just to take a break from all the activities and to slow down, it fullfilled my expectations

I was surprised there was NO ELEVATOR, I had a heavy luggage, at the end the receptionist helped me kindly to carry the luggage up to the stairs I cannot remember anything else that I would not like! perhaps t this a bit feeling we are lost in the hotel, but it was due to the fact we did not meet many guests in the area and you have an impression it is so spacius (I have seen some comments in the evaluation that hotel is rather "austere" as for the decoration, I do not agree with that perhaps one more comment: the dinner buffet option I would judge a bit too pricy and pretty much there was no other option for dinner then that

Location near the hikes, nice garden, nice views from some rooms (make sure that you are not in rooms above the rooftop of the outdoor area). Very convenient to get to from the airport as well.

I have mixed experience with the staff and the rooms. We were welcomed by a lady which was very reserved and put us in a room with a view on a rooftop (meaning we had zero view), even though I specifically asked her if the room had a nice view as I booked this hotel to look outside in the greenery. The second day I talked to another lady who was very nice and friendly and she moved us to another room (118) on the ground floor, which was much better, and had a view in the greenery, but there was a humidity smell and also a repetitive subtle background noise (probably from the AC). This noise was not unbearable but also not great.

The whole place is designed for relaxation, both from the location and the amenities. On the latter point, the pool, steam sauna, and dry sauna were really nice and perfect way to relax after arriving. The breakfast was SUPERB (hashbrowns, eggs sunny side, eggs scrambled, cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruit, even decaf tea!), easily the best breakfast I've had among the places I stayed in Madeira and in the top 5 in general.

The main improvement I would love to see is if the hours for pool would be just a bit longer, from 9 pm to 10 pm would really make a big difference. Note to the hotel manager if they are reading this!

The hotel was very clean and newly renovated. The best thing is the breakfast, it is perfect and suits every taste.

We chose this particular hotel, out of many others, because in the photo it is in the middle of a garden, away from the roads. But in the end, the window of our room overlooked the road. As we sat on our terrace in our bathrobes with tea, cars and buses drove by. It looked strange. In addition, the window opens like a door. It’s impossible to open it at night because you don’t want to sleep with the door open on the roadway; during the day it’s impossible to open it because of the noise of cars.

A beautiful and quiet location on top of the mountains. We liked everything, from the varied breakfast, welcoming staff to the great facilities such as the pool, the sauna and the turkish bath. The stars of the location are the pecocks wandering around the green garden :) Next to the hotel, there is a beautiful park to enjoy and on Sunday the local market is open to buy goodies.

Small, quiet hotel, good facilities, clean and well equipped. The breakfast was varied and good quality. The location was great for us, as we wanted a quiet place to stay that was close to the main hikes and attractions in Madeira- 15 min from the airport, 30 min from Funchal.

Although for us it was not a problem, as we had our own car and didn’t mind the drive, if you want to stay somewhere central with close access to restaurants and bars, this place would be a little far, and the there isn’t a lot in the village where it is located.

This is a very nice structure, pretty new, with large common spaces, a nice swimming pool and a very nice external area. The breakfast room is equipped for large numbers, but the level of the food is of very high quality and variety. The room is large, comfortable, silent, very clean and new.

Santo da Serra is a small village, if you're not planning to have dinner in the hotel, there are very few options outside... but it is anyway a good accomodation

Hotel was comfortable and quiet, the staff was super helpful and the bar was a great place to unwind with well prepared drinks.

We were not impressed by the buffet style restaurant in the evening. For 30 Euro the food was okay, standard quality buffet food so just a couple of steps above cafeteria food but definitely not in line with the rest of the hotel and its amenities.

Very nice hotel up the mountain. It was nice to come back from a long hike and get some relax at the swimming pool and sauna. Very nice and friendly staff

They don't have double beds (only twin beds put next to each other) , and the prices at the bar and meals are a bit exaggerated, but apart from that, it was very nice and recommendable

Great breakfast. Different variety of food to chose from that can satisfy different nationalities. I really appreciated that breakfast closed at 11, something not that common. The spa is very relaxing and easily accessible. The rooms were spacious and equipped with multiple (beach, shower) towels and a bathrobe.
