Short walk to night time food areas eg Esplanade Short taxi ride to airport. Staff were more then happy for questions like where is the lift or what time I should leave for my flight. Breakfast was the full range: cereal, fruit, yoghurt, deli meat and cheese, standard hot food, all egg types including omelette, breads, pastries and a Asian style section with veg curry, congee, soba. The person at the tour booking test was very helpful in booking some last minute day trips that were great days out.

In some weather the arrangement going from aircon reception to outdoor corridor to aircon room might be an issue for some people. Not sure if it was due to my early starts but the beds were hard to fall asleep on. Breakfast buffet staffers were very eager to clear up, including the plate you were still finishing. The welcome cookie was a nice surprise and all staff were enthusiastic and prompt in their service. The shampoo, conditioner and soap products were high quality (Crabtree and Evelyn) and the smell reminded me of an expensive Le Labo fragrance. The character of the building was well suited to Cairns - open and airy and with a nice tropical courtyard garden. The hotel location was good - easy walking distance to the centre of the city, plenty of dining options nearby, and we really enjoyed the aquarium across the road.

The double bed was a bit small for two people. Would have been good to have another bedside cabinet too. Also there were problems with every coffee machine that we encountered. At the breakfast buffet, one machine was faulty for our entire week-long stay and the other machine was inconsistent in its output. The coffee machine in our hotel room was broken and even though it was promptly replaced by staff, the new machine still required manual stopping of the water flow (unlike most machines which stop automatically) and the resultant coffee was not great, even though Vittoria is normally a good brand of coffee.

Breakfast was good. Jams were a little annoying in set up, not user friendly. Plates and bowls needed to be replaced sooner as had to wait a few times to aquire them.

The shower mixer knob kept falling off. It was a little disappointing about the pool area upgrades and noise coming from it. When we booked these upgrades were supposed to have been completed by end of July but we're later extended to end of August. Looking at the pace of the contractors I'd estimate at least another two months. To be honest, watching a lot of the contractors in action, I would have them fired.

Location was great. So close to everything. Air-con was excellent. Beds were super comfy. Nice big TV. Coffee machine was an unexpected bonus. The pond/garden was stunning. Barra were very cool. Excited to return when the pool is up & running and didn't get a chance to try the restaurant but it looked very popular and our colleague said the breakfast was great. Loved watching & listening to the willy wagtail outside the window, super cute.

Bathroom got a little wet with the shower spray, the glass was not big enough to contain the water spray but the exhaust fan in there was really good and all of our towels and bath mat dried really quick in there when we hung them up. Sometimes the hot water wouldn't start and the shower had to be turned off & on a couple times for the hot to come through. The coffee pods could probably be a better quality but the coffee machine was good value. Recommend bringing your own pods and extra milk. Did not like that the parking cost money, $15 is a bit much when you're already paying for the stay.

The location was excellent right on the esplanade. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Great breakfast was provided. Close to the airport. Taxi fare $25. Would stay again. Great hospitality on check in at the front desk. Made to feel welcome instantly and were given 2 home baked cookies on check in which were greatly appreciated.

Room was a little noisy near the garden bar earlier on in the night.

Breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold selections plus additional extra items that was brought around by staff. Staff on duty at breakfast were very polite helpful and engaging. Rooms were pleasent and kept very clean during our stay along with other areas of the hotel. Good location.

Lack of hand sanatiser around the breakfast self service area. Was surprised in view of the size of the hotel that the bar closed at 8.30pm. We booked an early morning call on the day of departure for 5.am as a back up. We did not receive a call. When this was questioned at checking out we received an apology from the receptionist that she forgot to set an alarm reminder to give us a call.We also booked a taxi via reception for 6.am to the airport the night that did not turn up. A different receptionist who did not forget the alarm call kindly came to our rescue and arranged a taxi as a matter of urgency.

Lovely chain, beautiful location, sea view room 523, Service staff - maids, dining room waitresses, were lovely. Beautiful courtyard gardens.

There is no lounge bar within the hotel. Week of helicopter crash. Pool out of commission ‘until further notice’ Very poor communication The staff did not contact us even though we were due to arrive within 1 week of the crash. We had to ring the day before to find out our stay wasn’t affected and ASK on arrival about the pool (bear in mind you can’t swim in the sea in Cairns.) Told we could use facilities in Hilton “5-10 minute walk away”. More a 20 min walk away. And no courtesy bus. Then the pool was reopened but there was no announcement - we just noticed on our last night that there were people in the pool. When we questioned about this we were told ‘they’d taken down the paper notice on the pool gate’ - inferring we were meant to go to the pool to check each day REALLY?

Hotel lobby is lovely and they give a nice warm cookie on arrival our check in lady Luse was very nice and helpful. Rooms are very modern but bathrooms though well appointed very small. This Hotel serves one of the best breakfast I have seen in a long time in hotels. Breakfast serves multiple options for people of all cultures, Omelettes are fabulous and fluffy must try. Staff in the restaurant is very courteous and ready to help. Close to all tourist destination. A comfortable hotel very well appointed facilities. Passage leading to the rooms very dated does not give good feel can do with an upgrade.

Amazing room! At the standard room, we had two double beds! Very comfy beds Great view to the mountains from the 7 th floor - ask for higher floors for better view They have table tennis, a pond with fish

The windows were dirty especially the parts which slide opened, between the window frames it is very muddy We had tiny ants living with us on a desk which was clean, and I wiped it all the time but the ants didn’t disappear. Curtains were not washed for years! Very dirty Internet didn’t allow us to call using WhatsApp, only texts were allowed, strange

the location was superb, close to all facilities and attractions. it was very family friendly. the room was well appointed and comfortable, the facilities were great. the service was terrific. i would definitely stay here again and recommend to all.

i was a little early for check-in, but my room was ready for me though on entering the bathroom it looked as though it had not been cleaned, just had linen replaced, there was hair in the bathtub and on the floor. there was no streaming services available to the tv which was a shame as i had intended to watch some of my Netflix programs
