Breakfast was adequate with variety. Location was excellent for us. Front desk staff were excellent. Liked the pool, the complementary tea, coffee and water, and the view from the balcony.

Breakfast was expensive. The hot food was not hot. It would have been better if boiled eggs and made to order omelettes were offered. I should not have had to complain about housekeeping - guests do not like doing that. Housekeeping staff need closer supervision and/or better training - the bathroom wasn't cleaned 2 of the 4 days we stayed, complementary toiletries were not replaced daily, 2 bath towels, one bathmat and one handtowel were provided for 2 people until I called housekeeping one night, damp towels were not changed until the desk was called on night 2, some cleaning staff did not understand English but others did. I believe we had a king size room but only one armchair was in the room.

I loved the decor, the facilities, the huge bed, the balcony, the outlook, the view, the location, the vibe, all of it. It perfectly suited my needs. I had a little getaway/staycation and it was very relaxing, the room service was lovely, the in house Shiraz was lovely, so was the chocolate! I really treated myself and I chose well with Crystalbrook Flynn. Came away very happy and would highly recommend.

Central location to Restaurants, Ferris Wheel, Lagoon, Marina, Banks, Transport Hub (Buses and Train). The room was very quiet, with double glazed windows, and spacious. The bed (and pillows) were very comfortable and sizeable, we slept undisturbed. The various Lifts operated well accommodating the many guests and staff. Breakfast variety was very good, spacious, and that area has views of the sea, ferris wheel and lagoon. Hotel has its own Italian (dinner) restaurant and, a nice evening whiskey bar on the second floor with good views across the Esplanade and good atmosphere. Hotel also has a restaurant / bar at ground level along the Esplanade.

Reception staff need more training on Hotel system operations and local area knowledge (appears that most staff are not local to the area and some not that well versed in the English language). Reception staff should wear name tags. No Tour Brochures were within sight at Reception desk area. The outdoor fully covered pool is too cold even for FNQ (why not solar power heating?). Bathroom lighting over wash basin could be better. The Nespresso machine leaked and water dripped into the drawers below. Needed to contact Reception several times re no hand towel, no bath mat, no tissues and low on toilet paper, (9 day stay). Lastly, on check out we were charged an extra day for our room and 2 days later the requested refund has yet to be processed, again staff need more training.

Our first trip to Cairns was absolutely made by staying at Crystalbrook Flynn. The staff were just brilliant – super helpful and genuinely welcoming, without any of that stuck-up vibe you sometimes get at hotels. It was really refreshing, and we truly appreciated that! The whole place felt clean and modern, which was a huge plus and contributed greatly to a comfortable and enjoyable stay. And the location? Couldn't be better for our first time here. Being able to easily walk to all the local attractions, including the marina and car hire venue, made navigating the city an absolute breeze. So easy and no fuss at all!

Even with the unexpected challenge of my partner's hospital visit on our first night (which truly highlights how comfortable and relaxed we were!), we generally had a great stay. The only points we'd mention are that the air conditioning had a musty smell, which we were able to resolve by opening the doors, and the bathroom fan took a while to clear the humidity after showering.

The staff here went above and beyond from the moment we arrived. They checked us in earlier after our early morning flight - such a lifesaver. Everyone was incredibly accommodating and genuinely eager to help. Highlights: - Directly on the esplanade - Night market just steps away - Perfect access to everything - Spotlessly clean rooms - Well-maintained facilities Bonus: Yoga mat in the room (total game-changer for fitness lovers) The staff's warmth, incredible location, and thoughtful touches made this stay truly memorable.

A Few Honest Notes: - Bed is comfy but on the softer side - Swimming pools are clean but chilly. 1st floor pool slightly warmer, but still refreshing - No power sockets by the bed—only a USB port. If you have a Type-C charger, you might run into some trouble :)

I recently stayed at Crystal Brook Flynn in Cairns and had a pleasant experience overall. The location was excellent, very convenient, and accessible. The facilities were well-maintained, and the reception staff were outstanding – always greeting with a big smile and very easy to communicate with. They understood customer needs clearly and were always helpful. The only downside was the air conditioning, which was not up to standard – the cooling was quite poor and didn’t meet expectations. Despite that, my overall experience was good, and I would recommend this hotel to others.

Aircon was not good.

Hotel is in an amazing location. Sitting around the pool area was very pleasant. Breakfast was ok, but not worth $38.

First room had an extremely musty smell, like a boy's gym bag. We couldn't stomach breathing that for 6 nights, and the first desk manager who came to the room to check agreed it smelled bad, said she'd look into it, but never followed up with us. The 2nd desk manager I called was far friendlier and accommodating and brought us to another room. While the air quality was much better in the 2nd room, the shower leaked a lot of water into the toilet area due to poor design and no caulking. We pointed it out to the room attendant.

The included breakfast was the highlight of our stay and we were delighted to find plentiful gluten free options. Everything was well signed so we didn't have to ask questions and could help ourselves. Eating breakfast out as a family of 3 is expensive these days, so having this included in our booking package definitely made the stay better value for money.

I didn't realise until arriving that parking wasn't included in our stay - and the hotel didn't even have space to book parking. So we had to book parking in a public carpark a block away. Due to the high rate of crime and car thefts in Cairns it's not ideal leaving your car unattended or to be walking around the city trying to get to and from your car especially at night - and with a child. The bathroom wasn't well ventilated leading to wet walls and mould buildup even though it's a fairly new hotel. The swimming pools aren't heated and were too cold to swim in as our stay was during the cooler months in Cairns.

It’s just a lovely place to stay. Rooms are beautiful, spotless, good choice on the TVs, comfortable bed, location, facilities and staff. Really enjoyed our stay. Disliked the pools - we didn’t go in since you could either be seen through the side or from the bottom! Bit odd. We knew that before staying but didn’t realise both of the two pools would be like that. Didn’t see one person use it through the whole week, although you’re so close to the lagoon it’s not too much of a problem. Also parking charge is a bit steep but very secure and easy (although they did try to overcharge us for an extra day, this was promptly sorted).

Everything! As a disability traveller, the staff care and assistance was the best I've received for a very long time. I had in room dinner, which was amazing! as good as any top rated restraint delivered at time specified at perfect cook and temperature. Sea view room was worth the upgrade but in a separate tower, so a bit of a walk if your unaware and can only walk short distances.

Nothing. This is 5 star for a reason. If you want somewhere a little quieter off the esplanade, try their sister Riley Crystalbrookfor a resort vibe as recommended by concierge 😉 personally I loved the live music on the esplanade during my stay.
