My recent two-night stay at The Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff set a new standard for hospitality—warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience. Their service is among the best in the world, making every interaction feel personal and effortless. The hotel itself is a masterpiece. Every corner is thoughtfully curated, seamlessly blending history with contemporary art. The walls tell stories through an ever-evolving collection of artwork, making the space feel more like an immersive gallery than just a place to stay. Bobbie’s meticulous curation ensures that every piece contributes to the hotel’s unique atmosphere. Beyond the art, the rooms are beautifully designed, offering a perfect mix of comfort and character. The blend of heritage architecture with modern luxuries creates an ambiance that is both inspiring and relaxing. The location is also ideal—right on the waterfront, within walking distance of some of Hobart’s best dining and cultural spots. We didn't have breakfast but we loved the glassware, "nespresso" and all of the movies available to watch.

We checked in to a room that the carpet must have had water damage and was very moldy but we requested a move and were accommodated immediately. I was told that this is the cleaning solution the staff uses - which was not true. And, I repeated that it was definitely mold/musty - I am very sensitive to these smells so I know them well. I was told that I am entitled to my opinion but no, its cleaning solution. Anyway, that was unnecessary. I appreciate the management moving us so quickly.

It had a quirkiness about it that took if beyond being another comfortable hotel. The staff were all characters in their own right and added to the flavour of the hotel. Everyone was so helpful and attentive to our needs the whole experience was one of comfort.

Visitors need to be ware that it is necessary to pre-book the hotel’s restaurant due to its popularity. In order to achieve a second visit while we were there the staff went out of their way to create availability on a busy Saturday night.

The hotel is in a former jam factory and the aesthetic is very cool - it has such a great historical feel to it but with all the mod cons. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shower and bath were great. I never heard any noises from outside the room and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic - a stroll to Salamanca markets and the CBD, with many restaurant options nearby.

Everything about the property was great, including the art in the corridors.

The hotel is absolutely magnificent! Sympathetically and beautifully rescued/restored from virtual ruin, with many original features of its previous life still showing. The art collection is extensive and very impressive, as is the free tour for guests by the master storyteller, Aaron, who explains much behind a lot of the paintings in the collection in a most entertaining and informative manner. Staff are excellent and the restaurant is fantastic!

Absolutely nothing!

Fantastic location right on the harbour front. Walking distance to everything. Views from our room were amazing. Very helpful staff, nothing was a bother. Guest laundry (self serve) was a welcome surprise. The Landscape restaurant was fantastic, we loved it.

The bathrooms are all glass and the door doesn’t seal. The layout was a bit tight around the end of the bed - bit of a squeeze. You have to activate a room clean by putting the sign on the door, it’s not automatic.

So beautiful. The building and surrounds with the history and the art makes this place very special . Much nicer than getting a beige, ordinary room elsewhere. Staff were lovely and helpful. Art tour was a great thing to do as you learned the history of the place and see wonderful art everywhere. It was a great way to start our stay. Free laundry room a bonus. We could open our windows which we liked to get fresh air in the room. Cocktails at the Long Bar were also very good. Breakfast was excellent. Location to everything was brilliant. So glad we stayed here.

It’s time for the mattress to have an upgrade. Was a bit uneven and soft and did impact on sleep.

I think the highlight of this place is definitely the staff. We've spent 9 nights at this hotel and it felt like we have developed a friendship with the staff at the front desk by the end of the trip and it was a bit heartbreaking to leave.

Wi-Fi has been pretty unreliable. Parking comes at an additional cost per day but I guess you do get valet service with it.

All of the rooms in Henry Jones Art Hotel are different. They have converted an old building into a hotel and kept some of the vibe from the original structures and it adds a whole other interesting dimension to the hotel. We loved it. They also have art hung all along the walls and in the rooms.

The room had carpeting and carpet holds on to dirt, dust and it smells after a while. I would have preferred some other kind of flooring to keep the air in the room smelling fresh.

Second time staying here with family - we love waking up in the morning and going out to see the views. Breakfast from our rooms is always an experience that sets up our day well. Nespresso pods hit the spot. I love that the experience was consistent as last time - we did note 1-2 changes such as no longer providing Tassie water in the glass bottles (instead Mt Franklin bottled water), set of tea no longer has green or peppermint but nothing major.

The twin beds are really soft - you sink in, as a side sleeper it was slightly uncomfortable.
