Incredible location in the heart of Viejo San Juan. Right next to the cathedral and so many more crucial sites to visit in Viejo San Juan. Close to bars and cafe and restaurants bur tucked back well far enough that you’re away from the commotion. Historic building- ita old, but has incredible charm. Probably several hundred years old. Comfy beds. Great shower. Awesome AC and beautiful rooms. It was so easy to go back and forth between the hotel and site seeing it made my visit to Viejo San Juan amazing.

The hotel is absolutely stunning, and the photos truly reflect the reality of the place. The atmosphere is wonderful, especially with the beautifully lit balcony on the top floor. The location is unbeatable in San Juan – everything is within walking distance, including charming cafés and great restaurants, yet it’s situated in a peaceful area away from the city's noise.

The only downside is the lack of a mini fridge in the room. It would be incredibly helpful to have one, especially in Puerto Rico’s warm and humid climate, to keep water bottles and other essentials cool.

Very cool old traditional villa in the center of Old San Juan. Fantastic location and a cool authentic experience for 1 night, but probably wouldn't want to stay there too long. We couldn't figure out how to get in at first as we arrived after 4pm and there is no reception then. Our taxi guy couldn't even find the hotel as there is no sign to say it's a hotel. They sent instructions with some codes to open the front door, but we couldn't find the key box to the room at first. It was kind of fun like a real escape room where you have to find keys to open the next room lol. The property was very interesting - if you want an authentic stay, book it! It's nothing like a normal hotel. But I wouldn't want to stay more than a couple of nights. I would want something more comfortable for a longer stay.

Tiny room and wasn't sure if the mold on the wall was real or fake just to add to the character. The floor had dirty old tiles (but traditional) so we made sure to keep shoes on in the room and when going to the bathroom.

The hotel has a cool design, a nice rooftop patio, and a great location. Staff is only on site from around 9am-1pm, although the check in was very easy even with no one there. The bathroom had sensors for the lights, so prepare to shower in the darkness or stick your hand out and wave every 30 seconds.

Beautiful boutique hotel, everything is charming and the room is small, but comfortable. There’s a jacuzzi upstairs, which was fun! The location is amazing, right in the middle of Old San Juan, so you can do everything on foot! Would definitely recommend.

There was never anyone at the reception, so checking in and out can be a bit of an issue if you don’t have a phone signal/wi-fi (we actually got help from a stranger on the street to call the staff and let us in). Also, no breakfast, but there are lots of places close by.

Villa Herencia boasts a perfect location, nestled in the heart of San Juan yet tucked away in a serene spot. The hotel's service and charm were truly exceptional, immersing us in the authentic essence of Puerto Rico as we felt like we were staying in a typical, historic villa right in San Juan. It was an unforgettable experience!

While Villa Herencia offered a wonderful experience overall, there were a couple of aspects we didn't like as much. The absence of breakfast was a minor inconvenience, but not a major concern since there were plenty of dining options nearby. Additionally, the rooms were on the smaller side, and the climate control system had some issues, but it didn't significantly impact our overall enjoyment of the stay.

If you're planning a visit to the Old San Juan area, don't look any further - just book this beautiful, serene and historic property. This is THE best location in town, with the most spectacular street views. You're enjoy quite seclusion, wonderful staff and you're be transported back in time. I love the colonial style mixed with some modernity. Love the room so much. It felt like traveling back in time. I would definitely come back for more days.

Loved everything! I would just point that there was a leak somewhere close to the fridge. Not sure was coming from it or something else and it did not bother my stay at all.

So beautiful and so different. All compliments for creativity and the unique touch of art. We absolutely loved each detail, comfort, location and all about this place. We will come back!
