I stayed for 2 nights in a detached small room-shared bathrooms, on the patio/deck of the hotel, with easy and private access. The room was perfectly clean, everything looked new; it was very private. The room size may not be very big, but it was good for me to get dressed, be comfortable and rest. The ladies in reception were very kind and patient with me. There is a supermarket, literally crossing the street, with very kind staff, too (by the way). The bathrooms were clean and practical. The area looked and felt totally safe and clean.

Location is very close to public transit, and there is a grocery store and a good restaurant right across the street. They provide free water and ice, which is a lifesaver if you're not used to the tropical climate, and there's AC in each room.

It was very easy to hear anyone in the halls if they were making noise at night despite the rules, and the rain is very loud on the bottom floor, which makes it hard to sleep.

This is my first trip to Singapore and a friend recommended that I stay near the Queenstown area - K2 guesthouse is the closest accommodation I could find. Comparing to options within the same price range you could get in downtown - Chinatown, Little India or Lavender, this Haw Par Villa area is indeed relatively quiet and low-key, so I managed to get a few nights' sound sleep, which does not happen with every hotel. Pasir Panjang Food Centre is about 15-min walk away and near Pasir Panjang MRT, so you could get decent and local food there. Also not far away from Sentosa and Mount Faber Park, so location wise is great if you are here to visit those places. The breakfast is good, has a variety of food options. Staff is very polite and helpful, although sometimes they could not immediately fix the Wifi or power outage problem.

If you need to travel to downtown(e.g. Raffles place or Gardens by the bay) either for business or sightseeing, the location is a bit far away, it takes about 40 mins walking + MRT to get there. Also at peak hours the bathrooms were always occupied(for example 8-9 in the morning), and thus can be painful if you are running late. I usually had to get up early and use them before 7am to avoid spending a lot of time waiting. Supermarkets like Fairprice are also a bit far away.

The staff was very helpful. They really took care of my special requests and provided me with the best room. The breakfast spread was really nice and the location is very accessible with a bus stop right opposite and another one within few hundred metres. There are many shops and eating places close by too. Do visit their terrace once, especially towards Sunset. The views are lovely.

There is no provision of lift. Carry universal adapters if you are coming from a different country (Although, like me, if you forget one, you can buy one from their vending machine inside, but it will cost you SGD 6 atleast)

Nice and clean, with an outdoor area with tables and chairs and a sofa and coffee table. There is also the kitchen area at the covered outdoor area with a microwave, water dispenser, sink, vending machine, etc. Water dispenser and kettle in one inside the room, and a small fridge. Comfy room with a two door wardrobe, suitcase rack, clothes hanger, and a desk with a comfortable chair. There was also a hair dryer in the bedside table´s drawer. Iron and ironing board on demand.

Deposit 100 Sgd was a lot of cash, if you are leaving the country the next day it is not very convenient because you have to exchange the money again. An adapter could be provided in the room. Breakfast was different on Sunday, with more elaborated food (cooked egg, sausagge, etc). The other days it was more basic (cereal and milk, toasts with jam and butter and tea or coffee plus boiled egg). Far from the center but close to NUS. Pricey for being so far from the center, yet well connected with public transpotation.

They upgraded my stay from single bed to double bed, therefore I got a very decent room with a small balcony and hard floor inside my room. The place is a guesthouse (quite homey), not hotel, therefore do not expect much, because it is just like staying in your aunt house with a very simple breakfast. Location quite decent, 2 bus stop to the mrt Haw Par Villa (which is quite far from the city and need to change the mrt line to reach the city).

The bed is too soft, in some part you can feel the ring metal, i think you better change to the new bed. The wastafel and the toilet are inside the bathroom where the floor is always wet. Need more attention to clean the room and the bathroom.

Everything great here!. Humble and friendly staffs, good breakfast, beautiful and convenient location, specially I had work at NUH, so it was easy for me to move. Bus available just at the doorstep. For MRT you need to walk 7/8 minutes which is fine. Water filter in the room is a big big plus. They have tea bags, water placed to make tea coffee at the reception area. The reception area is beautifully decorated. The neighborhood is calm and quiet, away from the city, very lush and green, nice walkways around, coffee shops, restaurants, bars all nearby the Guesthouse. I strongly recommend this place.

the property is clean and spacious. And, it has all the amenities a traveler may need. they have washing machines, dryer, microwave, water dispenser, fridge, and free coffee, tea, & some snacks!

Maybe just the toilet sometimes. Coz we chose shared bathroom. so we’ll really need to wait for our turn. 😅

We were pleasantly surprised by this place, the pictures don’t look like much, but the room was amazing! Would have stayed here much longer, might come back here another time. Location is quit and nice, there’s a bakery, a bar and small convenience store right across the street :)

I think we got unlucky with the amount of maintenance they had to do while we stayed here. Constantly something had to be done, outside our room but they also had to go out on our balcony. Otherwise it was good 👍🏻

Back in Malaysia, I was browsing through the Internet for an affordable hotel close to NUS when I found this amazing deal, and after a few more searches I've decided it was the best deal there was to offer. My mother was asking for some of the locals for help, but even they were surprised by its affordability. The breakfast catering changed on a daily basis, and it was definitely the reason for me to wake up early every morning. Facilities-wise, there's enough things to make a student happy: a vending machine just outside the doorsteps of the alley, a kettle and a fridge for my unhealthy instant noodles and milk tea; there's even a multi-adapter, although only two out of the four sockets worked. However, despite the stunningly low prices and the close proximity, the one thing I liked the most was the friendliness of each and every one of the staff, from the receptionists to the cleaners. One day I decided to switch the position of my pillow to the opposite end of the bed to face the air-conditioner. The next day when I returned to my room, I found my bed arranged in the reversed direction. It was a simple but thoughtful gesture. On the day of my departure, I had one last breakfast before I left. It was possible for me to walk on foot with a 30kg luggage to the hostel.

The one thing I was disturbed with was the flooring of the private toilet in my room, which uses hole-filled plastic tiles. I couldn't help but have lingering suspicions on what sorts of unidentified substances were stuck in the gaps. On a side note, there's also probably too many drawers for a short-term stay.
