The attention to detail and how well thought out the little touches were. It's not over the top and in your face. The views are breathtaking and the landscape forever changing depending on the weather. The hotel manager was welcoming with contact between the staff and guests done via WhatsApp which was unique for me but it felt personal which was nice. The restaurant staff and food was amazing, worth every penny. Travel from Lecco station and exploring other parts of the lake were simple. Breakfast was device and having the choice to eat in the room with no extra charge was pleasant and enjoyable, had a more relaxed vibe. We made use of the Jacuzzi.

My only criticism was the noise. You could hear everything from doors closing, people talking and chairs scraping. Things would go quiet around 23.30pm and banging would start again 5.30am.

Eating breakfast on the balcony with Lake Como just feet away was sublime. The hotel was small and intimate; perfect for a romantic getaway. The restaurant food was delicious and the staff were all helpful, knowledgeable and polite. I'd definitely recommend this lakeside hotel to Fri and family.

Location was excellent. Right on the lake front overlooking stunning views. We did a private boat ride and the pick up was literally at the front of the hotel. Recommend doing this excursion not a lot of lake traffic early in the morning so its a peaceful ride. The continental breakfast was superb. Delivered on time and set out on the balcony overlooking the lake. The FoH / guest liaison were superb - very attentive and quick to respond. We ate at the restaurant within the hotel and the food was good and value for money. If you are driving in, rent one their garages out which is a few mins walk to the hotel. Park - unload - take car to the garage. Bellagio is only a 15 min taxi ride in. Beds are very comfortable.

The rooms are small, especially if you have medium or above suitcases. Travel light if you can to make it more comfortable. There is a distinct lack of storage space in the bathroom and bedroom. Take an extension lead with you - only two visible plug sockets in our room. Couldn't really walk too far from the hotel so plan ahead for transport. Ask about their shuttle service in advance.

Beautiful view from the room. Very accommodating and helpful staff, especially Victoria. Nice breakfast room and good food. Great plus to have a wonderful restaurant downstairs.

The rooms have a beautiful view, but they are small. Difficult to maneuver in the room with large suitcases.

Everything! Lakefront, small romantic village, ferry comes right to the hotel to take you to Bellagio and other villages, boat rental right there, restaurant on site, small deck to lounge by the lake, rooms have lakefront balconies, bus stop right there as well! Off the grid but so close to Bellagio! Breakfast (bountiful) brought to your room every morning! I just don’t have the words to describe just how special Al Molo 5 is! Everything you need for a perfect stay is there! Greta was absolutely incredible and made us feel so welcome! She is so amazing at what she does! I can’t wait to go back one day!

Our only issue we had was with the restaurant which by the way is not owned by the hotel. The manager was very rude and denied us service. We wanted to have apps, dessert and wine and he insisted it had to be full dinner only. We were very surprised by this since we were hotel guests. Greta apologized profusely and felt terrible about it.

What an incredible location - looking out over the lake and up into the Mountains directly across the Lake. Al Molo is conveniently located just outside of Bellagio , which was perfect at the end of a long day in the busy towns to get away from the frenetic activity. Transport on the ferry (which leaves immediately outside of the Hotel ) was so convenient and a lovely boat ride to / from Al Molo .. Also a public bus leaves every hour from very near Al Molo - just 2 minutes walk from the Hotel. Lastly the Restaurant conveniently located below the Hotel has outstanding - sitting right in the lake we had imaginative dishes that were deliciously crafted and breakfast from our balcony excellent whilst enjoying breathtaking views - Al Molo a wonderful , uniquely charming , elegant property so well located , and designed.

It was perfect - nothing we didn’t love

Situated in a beautiful setting with the most amazing view from the balcony. Lots of thoughtful touches including a breakfast room with complimentary water, tea and coffee and the most delicious breakfast brought to our room each morning. Everything we could need was provided e.g. dressing gowns, powerful hairdryer, toiletries and helpful information on the area and transport options. The Vassena ferry pier is directly next door which was so useful for trips to other areas and there are also bus stops a few minutes walk away. We had a meal at the restaurant next door but also went to Cafe Bar Errezeta which was a few minutes walk away and did the most amazing pasta. The staff were very helpful and communicated well in advance. We made use of the onsite bar (Vassena Cafe) each day and enjoyed our drinks on the private decking area by the lake - so beautiful.

Nothing not to like and we’re already planning a future return.

Beautiful hotel… Friendly helpful staff from the moment we arrived.. Thanks to Greta for the very warm welcome and for sorting us an early morning picnic breakfast for our day drip to St Moritz.. Located next to Ferry Jetty so it was very convenient to access the other beautiful spots on Lake Como.. Restaurant attached served a very decent dinner with a beautiful view of the lake , on one of our nights..

We found one of the waiters in the restaurant was quite rude and abrupt.. when asked if could have just a drink next to the lake.. Also lacking a lift for the upper floors which would have been useful with heavy luggage

The view from the balcony was spectacular! Book very early to ensure a balcony room. The restaurant is fantastic. Vassena is in a quiet hamlet 15 minutes from Bellagio and was fantastic to be away from the crowds. There is also boat, kayak and paddle board hire

A note to travellers- without a car you are restricted by last bus and ferry times at 6pm from Bellagio. Taxi’s are none existent. It is really easy to get here during the day by train and bus Milan-Lecco train Lecco- Vassena bus or ferry. Cost pp. €8pp compared to taxi €€179. We loved travelling to other towns in the day and having dinner at the hotel. It is such a romantic setting!

We stayed here for a few nights for a mini honeymoon and we could not have been happier. Nathaly was warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. She made sure we had information about where we wanted to go and ensured we had reservations in the hotel restaurant in the evening. The hotel itself is very beautiful, lovely decor and very clean and well kept. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. It is located just metres away from the ferry dock which takes you to Bellagio. The breakfast provided was delicious and it was such a treat to eat on the balcony with a stunning view of the lake. The WiFi in the property was Starlink, so very fast. Vassena is much quieter than the other popular areas to stay like Varenna, and there wasn’t as many bars/cafes in the immediate area, but the food at the hotel restaurant was exceptional so I would recommend eating here anyway. There is also a lovely little cafe attached to the hotel and a supermarket nearby. I would also recommend hiring a boat from Boats2Go which again was just metres away from the hotel. We appreciated that Vassena is on the quieter side, as it felt like we could retreat to a more peaceful side of the lake away from some of the very busy areas. I would highly recommend Al Molo 5 and hope to visit again in the future.
