From the moment we arrived the staff here could not have been more friendly and helpful to us and our dog. The room was a good size and the bed wonderfully comfortable. We had a table booked for our evening meal, which was delicious, and wow, the breakfast the next morning was enormous and very tasty. It set us up for the whole day. We were lucky enough to arrive on a day they were holding a theme night, Country and Western. We loved how everyone got into it and had a brilliant evening. Very welcoming staff and locals. Directly opposite the pub is a beautiful castle ruin which was a great place to walk the dog.
It was the hottest day of the year so far, so understandably the room was very hot, and we had to open windows. The pub is directly opposite the church which chimed on the quarter hour all night long, causing a disturbed nights sleep. The shower door didn't have a seal under it, so water poured out when being used, we had to put most of our towels on the floor to mop up the spill.

This venue is just full of lovely people who want to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Tony and Paul , the landlords are so friendly and cannot do enough to make sure you are happy, an ethos that is obvious with all of the staff. We ate breakfast and an evening meal during our stay and both were excellent and good value. We also took our dog, which was no problem at all, and there is an old castle just across the road with lovely walks. The hotel has a large car park too. Will definitely stay here again and can recommend it highly.
The property is on a busy road. However, this really does quieten down at night to be fair and the bedrooms are double glazed.

Ye Olde Boote Inn is one of the best countryside hotels we have ever stayed in in England, thanks to its blend of historic charm, comfortable accommodations, excellent dining, and serene location. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a solo retreat, this Inn provides a quintessentially English experience that will leave you longing to return. The Inn has retained much of its original character, with exposed wooden beams, roaring fireplaces, and antique furnishings. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the friendly staff is dedicated to ensuring each guest feels right at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated, combining historic details with modern amenities for maximum comfort. Luxurious bedding, en-suite bathrooms, and complimentary Wi-Fi are just a few of the features that contribute to a restful stay. "Thank you" to all staff!

Beautiful setting with views of castle and lake. The Inn itself was decorated lovely. Paul and Tony the owners and also Kenzie the bar manager could not have been more welcoming , as were the other staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them.. My family and I stayed 1 night with our little dog the room was of a really good size especially the bathroom. We dined in the restaurant in the evening and again for breakfast it was delicious and of good quality. We will definitely return. Thank you

Paul and Anthony were fantastic hosts and we were made to feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Very much a community feel to the area. We were lucky enough to be staying at a time when the yearly village fete was happening, the community spirit was amazing. The room we had was perfect with everything you could want, plus a lovely view of the castle ruins across the road. Parking on site, a lovely menu, comfy bed and super clean!
Restricted hours on food. Would've been useful to have been made aware of that so we could plan that into our day. It seems to be a thing in the area which we are not used to.

The whole weekend was a wonderful experience. The room was quirky, clean and very spacious. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The highlight of the weekend was the FOOD!!! Oh my goodness, I've enjoyed a good few gastropubs, but the food at the Old Boote was absolutely sensational. We weren't planning to eat again on Saturday evening but because the food the night before was so delicious, we wanted to try out different dishes ... which didn't disappoint! The icing on the cake was our lovely waitress, she was friendly, engaging and enjoyed a few giggles with us. Really made our weekend - I'm only sad we are 4 hours away from you as we would be VERY regular clients!
nothing to dislike!!!

The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and a good size. There was a singer in the bar on the Friday night who we could hear from our room, however, the music stopped at around 11pm and then it was very quiet. We would expect that though from staying at a pub/inn so we weren’t bothered at all. The staff were lovely, especially the breakfast staff who were very cheerful and friendly which is nice to wake up to! The breakfast was amazing, I had the eggs Benedict and eggs florentine, both of which were cooked to perfection!

The breakfast choice was good and catered for those with larger or smaller appetites. The ability to request a late check-in was very useful to us as we had to travel 4 and half hours to get there. The room was exactly as advertised and ideal for the family visit we were attending. Knowing the area we knew road noise could be an issue and my only comment would be to make sure the secondary double glazing is closed as we only realised this on our second night and it was much quieter.
The only thing that we would say is about the drinks offered with breakfast. One of us had tea and the other coffee. Only issue is that whilst the tea drinker got two cups from the pot the coffee drinker only got one cup and it would be good to maybe offer a second cup for the coffee drinker as they could certainly have done with one.

The property was local to the places we wanted to visit, the castle was directly opposite there was a small corner shop nearby and other pubs.
The floor in our was on a slope so it did throw us off balance a lot while walking around that also meant the bath was on a stand and was then raised and slightly too high. The prices of food and drinks was really pricey in comparison to other places nearby.

Loved the location, staff very friendly and welcoming. Cosy, comfortable and clean room. And a great pub with excellent food. We had our little dog with us and she was made very welcome. Gemma was very helpful, efficient and friendly, an asset for the business
Only minor negative was the bathroom, the shower riser and head need a little attention, as shower head slipped while showering, had to really push into holder to get it to stay put.
