The room: lovely muted interior design, comfortable shower room, large bath towels, clean, very comfortable mattress and bedding! Breakfast: The full English breakfast was nice on the first morning (second morning for some reason missing bits). Location: Brilliant; right in the town centre, next to the river, shops and restaurants. Staff: The breakfast staff were friendly and cheerful. Price: Location and room quality wise the price was good value for money.

Friday evening entertainment: Way, way too loud! To have a loud band on playing until midnight for a handful of people in the bar and disturbing the whole hotel of paying guests who were trying to sleep, shows rather bad judgement from the owners/managers of this inn. The room: Comfortable and pretty, but rather small, so do not bring a suitcase. Staff: Unfortunately inconsistent. Some of the evening staff were far from friendly, some rather poorly trained. Dinner: This was unfortunately the deal breaker for my husband, who thought that the menu, the quality of the food, and the echoey dinner hall vibe reminded him of Weatherspoons. My burger, however, was good.

The room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of very hot water which was appreciated for the bath I had to ease my aches and pains especially after plenty of walking, steps and hills. We had a glimpse of the river from our room which was nice as I hadn't specifically booked a view. Sarah, the breakfast waitress, was very welcoming, polite and friendly. Our breakfasts were very enjoyable with plenty of choice and more than adequate to satisfy us.

The church bell in the night was a bit of an issue for me as I don't sleep well but husband only woke once. The weather could have been better so we then may have had the option to eat and drink outside thereby making use of the lovely riverside view and courtyard garden!

Loved the setting, the friendly staff and the yummy food. Also we liked the seating capability for meals as guests had the choice for river views, inside or outside especially for breakfast.

The walk from the carpark to the Hotel with luggage, especially for an older couple is not an easy one. We didn't know we could get a bus down to the Hotel or even the place to park. More information for guests on getting themselves and their luggage to and from the carpark to the Hotel would have been very helpful. Also the best place to park. The advertising insinuated that all rooms had river views not just the lucky four out of the ten rooms. The shower was very average, the stairs tricky but everything else was very good. Husband kept hitting his head on roof beams in room and in toilet.

The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The views across the river are amazing and so wonderful to gaze out at while you wake and have coffee from the facilities supplied in the room. The included breakfast is cooked as you like it, with cold options available. You have the option to eat either indoors or outside under the canopy, but you do run the risk of uninvited seagull company. Its something else to watch the river come to life as you do. The staff are accommodating, polite and remembered us from our visit last year. This is a fantastic venue to stay to have as your base, with plenty to occupy your day from the beach down the street to shopping and places to eat in town.

I can not think of a single thing that would fit in this section.

breakfast excellent rooms were gloriously clean and comfortable staff very friendly check-in and -out very smooth view from the dining area was spectacular

the music on Friday evening was APPALLINGLY loud. It was uncomfortable up in our room. There is no value in amplifying live music to this extent. And there didn't seem to be any encouragement for visitors to keep the volume down; there seemed to be zero concern for the comfort of people who might want or need to sleep before midnight. There was a raucous group chatting and laughing loudly / screaming beyond midnight. It would have been reasonable for staff to ask them to be quieter at this time of night.

First of all, this is based on an out of season (March) visit. The accommodation section is separate from the pub and is modern and really clean. It really is very good. There are two flights of stairs to get to the top rooms. Our room was lovely, small but with everything you need and very clean and new looking. I wish we had booked a river view but that was our mistake. The view is superb. The pub is right on the edge of the water. The food in the pub was “pub food” but really good pub food and the breakfast was lovely. All in all we really enjoyed the Galleon

This is not to do with the pub but parking is an issue. This is right in the heart of Fowey and. There is a car park next to the pub but it’s small and I suspect gets very busy, max 2 hr stay. About half a mile away on the road out of Fowey by the Bodinnick ferry there is a long stay carpark which is much cheaper.

Situated right on the water and being in the centre of town was perfect. Breakfast was lovely especially the scrambled eggs. The staff were helpful & nice. As you can't park your car at the hotel, the Caffa Mill carpark further along on the edge of town was reasonably priced, with no charge overnight, it is about a 10 min walk from the Galleon Inn.

Nothing! But we would have liked a room overlooking the water, next time I will request one.

Lovely accomodation, small but clean & modern. All staff were excellent. Minor hiccup with room on arrival but this was immediately sorted by management & did not detract from a lovely stay. Fowey is a fabulous place to walk around with plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs & coffee stops.

Bed was too hard for me but my wife loved it so it's a personal taste rather than the hotels fault.

Perfect Location. Good Size Rooms with everything you need including air-con. Exceptionally Clean Rooms with En-suite bathrooms. Excellent facilities. Really good size comfortable beds. Hairdryer & safe in each room. Fantastic food. Sarah the breakfast waitress was amazing, cheerful and really informative about local places to visit. Nothing was too much trouble at all. Breakfast was fantastic as was the evening food - you really couldn’t fault quality or quantity.

Only one key for the room, would have liked one each. Parking is a bit of a problem at busier times.

August 2023

The location was stunning, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was well decorated and the bathroom was beyond what we expected in terms of size and having a bath as apposed to just a shower. We had an email in advance to inform us that this is a working quay in a busy street and attached to a busy pub so there may be noise. But we didn't have any issues with noise during our weekend stay. Dinner in the pub was lovely, good food and a nice vibe for us and our young daughter. Breakfast was perfect!

The room could get quite warm (but there was air con which helped cool the room when we first arrived, and then windows open seemed enough to keep a good temp) and the bed would squeak every time you rolled over!
