Villa Corte DD was the absolute perfect place to stay in Lucca. We didn’t hire a car (which made the trip so much more relaxing) so I wanted somewhere in walking distance of Lucca with a pool because it was going to be hot. We had a great breakfast, walked into town ( 15 minutes), came home for the hot part of the day and crashed out by the pool and went back into town for the evening. 20,000 steps a day give or take. I’d read some reviews that had made me a little nervous. I like to research where I stay. We travel a lot. Sometimes staying in v high end places. I think Villa Corte Degli Dei has been unlucky with some of its reviews. The staff are SO welcoming and so good. It was very clean. It was in a great location. One grumpy guest complains about it being near a big road. In my opinion, I wasn’t remotely aware of the road. The crickets were louder! I genuinely feel that I lucked out finding this place. We will definitely be back. Great Lucca base, great staff, great pool, great time. Thank you.D

The property was a little further out than we thought but completely do-able - I would recommend hiring the bikes (best price is the hotel rather than Lucca), it made life much easier! We had the cheapest room which was clean and rustic with everything we needed tea, coffee, fridge, hairdryer, towels etc but would probably upgrade a room. The pool was a really great feature for a rest and cool down in the afternoon. The hotel is absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast and breakfast room - would highly recommend this and could not fault it. We were able to leave our luggage on the last day and the staff arranged a taxi to the train station - we couldn’t have asked for any more.

Villa Corte Degli Dei is set in a quiet location about 1km away from the walled city & has a peaceful ambiance that would suits couples, although there were a few families with children. The main buildings are traditional in style with medieval architecture of stone, wood & tile & there is a smaller modern structure housing the breakfast room near the pool & garden area. I visited with my teenage daughter & chose the villa as it offered a pool, which was very welcome in the summer heat, as was the poolside bar & snack service.

Unfortunately there is no option to choose an evening meal at the villa & there were no restaurants nearby, which meant a trip into the main city area each night. The walk back in the dark was a little intimidating at times, although I appreciate this is not a fault of the villa.

One of the highlights was the swimming pool — clean, well-maintained, and a great place to unwind during the warm afternoons. The villa staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was another strong point — fresh, varied, and delicious, with a good selection of local items to start the day right. Parking was easy and convenient, with plenty of space, which is a big plus when traveling by car in Tuscany. Overall, this villa offered the perfect mix of comfort, charm, and tranquility. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay near Lucca.

Set in a peaceful area yet only 15 min walk to the centre. A definite wow factor on arrival at the big gates. We were booked into the "small attic room" so I did wonder if we might be a little cramped, but this was not the case, it was plenty big enough with a very big and comfy bed. Cleaned daily. A nice touch to have a little fridge in the room. The staff were exceptionally friendly, always smiling and nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing! The pool area was stunning - very well maintained. We would love to stay again.

Very easy to hear conversations from neighbouring room, although this wasn't too much of an issue, I think it could be depending on the guest!

From the initial welcome message from Pietro through the arrival where we met Vicky, then the breakfast hosting by Giorgia, this stay exceeded our expectations at every turn The location is only a 15 minute walk from Porte Sant' Anna on the south-west side of the Lucca city wall, so only 20 - 25 minutes from the centre of everything Lucca has to offer Vicky and Girogia were so helpful and the room, with it's red, medieval theme and four poster bed was large, roomy and very comfortable Highly recommended - ignore any criticism of the location!

Very nice and romantic old style Villa in the quiet area of the town but still walkable distance to city centre or train station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pool area is clean and quiet, they have a little snack bar open all day so you can enjoy a light lunch by the pool. Staff was always cleaning or doing some other maintance on property, everything was neat and well kept. Breakfast is also good. You can rent bicicyles to explore nearby wineries or the city. Would definitely vist again.

The property was excellent and the rooms were clean modern and well air conditioned

There are a lot of stairs to the attic room and when carrying luggage this can present a problem for some of us with knee or hip issues!. There was no bar facility or comfortable seating for the evenings which meant that you couldn’t have a quiet night in or a post meal drink later in the evening ..

We loved this B&B within a 20 minute walk of Lucca. From rooms that are comfortable, full of character, and had everything we needed to a breakfast and pool area with delicious food and a lovely swimming experience - we really couldn't ask for more. We also rented bikes from the hotel to go into town and that was a highlight. The staff are exceptionally kind and hard working. Lucca itself is lovely. The city is filled with quaint and sophisticated shops, great food, and beautifully maintained streets. There is a lot of culture there and entertainment like concerts or street performers. We really enjoyed visiting the many towers and seeing the epic views as well.

The only thing we'd change is that one of the bikes we rented needed the seat to be fixed as it tilted upwards as the ride went along.

Beautiful well maintained pool, exceptional breakfast, 15 minute walk to the wall of lucca and interesting renovated property and building . What made the stay was the exceptional service from Vicki , Pietro, Georgia and Paola . They all provided help with a smile and eager to make our stay the best.
