The 4-poster suite we stayed in was absolutely GORGEOUS - such a comfortable bed, beautiful view of the gardens, huge bathroom - really charming look and feel - very opulant and felt like a real treat! The breakfast was super good! Continually being topped up / refreshed and great variety of both hot and cold food and pastries. Sarah on reception, was lovely! Super helpful after there was some minor booking confusion.

There were some small attention to detail issues and the bar often felt a little understaffed so there can be a bit of a wait for service. But, the staff are all lovely. The quality of food in the restaurant could be higher, especially for the price. Though the setting of the restaurant / bar was lovely.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Views of the grounds were amazing. Good selection at breakfast. Comfortable beds, if you like a firmer mattress anyway. Spa was lovely and quiet. Beautiful period property

The wardrobe in our room was broken, the door was off its hinges. The TV remote was intermittent when trying to use. Due to the age of the property some areas are a bit tired and could do with cleaning and improving. Could have more lighting options as the middle of the room was dark and that is where the dressing table is placed. No lift up 2 flights of stairs so be warned if you aren't fit.

The staff were very friendly and helpful They dealt with requests immediately. The starters and desserts at dinner were very good both nights.Breakfasts were excellent. The rooms are a very good size and the beds extremely comfortable.. The swimming pool is a good size and the water sparkling clean. We enjoyed a game of golf.So convenient to have this course right next to the hotel

We would have liked more choice of main course at dinner. On the first night the pork belly was unavailable and the fish was dry and hard. This was corrected the second night. Some of us would have paid a supplement for steak

A gorgeous building and spacious room. Easy access to Stratford Upon Avon. Beautiful Italian garden and nice spa facilities that were accessible over the weekend from 7:30 to 10:30 pm. Friendly and helpful staff.

Although all staff were very friendly and hospitable; the service in the restaurant was pretty slow, however, there was a fault in their online systems that night. Dinner was overall pleasant but our main was underwhelming; quite bland and dry. Our payment for dinner had not been recorded and we were asked to pay again at check out. However, staff were helpful and rectified the issue once we showed them our receipt.

Really cosy, traditional period features that give this hotel a lot of charm, and was just the sort of place we were looking to stay over the Christmas period. The spa facilities were modern and absolutely fantastic, and overall good value for a hotel + spa compared to similar hotels we looked at. Rooms were a decent size. The surrounding grounds and setting make it feel very peaceful, and there is a well paved pedestrian route from the hotel entrance into the city centre.

Some areas or details could do with a bit of a face lift or refurbishment (e.g. taps in the bath tub were a bit stiff, and when we first turned on, there was a gush of grey water that ran out due to the rusty fixings I think). We found our room to be slightly too hot when we were sleeping. Despite it being winter, we had to open a window.

Beautiful location, grounds. Our room was beautiful and clean. One thing worth mentioning is how professional and knowledgable all of the young staff were. Unfortunately, during a drink in the bar area (despite being seated far away from the bar itself) we and lots of other guests could overhear an older man be quite rude to the young staff, the boys in particular. Our assumption is this man was management, however the way in which he spoke to the staff was not acceptable. For the record, guests absolutely do not mind staff members having a small chat between themselves, it’s far more professional than hearing them be shouted at rudely. The staff were friendly, gave good wine suggestions, and were professional and polite, despite how they were being treated moments before.

Nothing as such- but outdoor heaters for the bar would be a nice touch! Or a basket of throws.

Beautiful grounds. Hotel is an impressive building. Spa was nice. Breakfast good. Staff were lovely. Mohammed at reception very professional and cheerful. Been there for 4 months and doing a great job. Roger at the bar was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

We booked 2 rooms The bathrooms were outdated. Our radiator in bathroom was loose and dusty at the back. 1 room kept locking us out with the card. 4 times we had to get a new cars from reception. A tad annoying Spa was nice but the drinking water was like 2 plastic box and kept running out of water. Need a few lounges to make it more relaxing. Breakfast need to get it in there before 9am. After that busy and run out of croissants and choc au pains. 1 toaster so you do have to queue. Minor points but would make a difference if rectified.

Well maintained, staff friendly and helpful. Spa has some renovations since last visit and it’s very well appointed and clean. We stay around 4 times a year and always enjoy our stay.

Very limited dairy free options of food. We ate in the restaurant and the only option for dessert was either a sorbet or a choc and orange pudding. Unfortunately, I don’t like choc and orange and a sorbet is like having an ice lolly! Maybe poached pear and dairy free ice creams or meringue would be good? It’s a shame as the food was lovely, but the menu was lacking with dairy free options.

The whole property was really beautiful and had that genuine English atmosphere, which we absolutely loved. The buildings and the landscape were pleasant to the eye. We enjoyed a long walks with our dog, which we were happy that he could accompany us in our family leisure weekend. The suite we stayed in was very comfortable, because our teenage daughter had her own bedroom.

We had two nights half board package and the first evening, our dinner was served by Stephan , which was really professional with his outstanding approach. Everything was fantastic. Unfortunately the second dinner was just the opposite. The person who was in charge of the dinner serving was very blunt and short tempered and as a result he had decided to ignore us the whole evening, so we had to cut dinner short, skipping the dessert, because we couldn’t take his behaviour any longer. We really would like to come back again, so we hope that the next visit will be even more pleasant.

The place gives you a pleasant feeling as if visiting place from a bygone era. It is almost a Grand Budapest Hotel type place. Perhaps a little dated in places (those carpets in the rooms are perhaps not what they used to be like). The staff are all super friendly and the breakfast was excellent with a good selection of cooked breakfast items available. Good tea selection. If you get the chance, do have a walk around the grounds. There were deer freely walking around at times and it felt really idyllic especially around the lake.

The hotel reception always seemed understaffed and busy. Once you got seen to, the service was great. The breakfast coffee could have been better (and a small touch of serving it in a basic cafetière would have made it feel more special. Instead it was served out of industrial vats which seemed like they got brewed hours earlier). Some of the furnishings were a little tired.
