We had the most amazing stay in a hotel ever. We didn't realize that we had booked the last couple of nights before the hotel would close their rooms for the season, so we were the only guests, which made us feel quite special. They gave us a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room with a view and kitchenette, as they informed us a few weeks earlier that restaurant would not be serving dinner. We thought we would only receive a smaller, simpler breakfast instead of the buffet they are known for, so imagine our surprise when we were greeted the next morning with an entire buffet set up just for the two of us. Everything was delicious, freshly made with local specialties, locally grown produce and fresh baked breads. Another incredible experience is the wide open view of the fjords that are utterly mesmerizing from the room and dining room. We enjoyed spending time in the many sitting areas and paths on the large property, which was the family farm several generations ago. The family still runs the hotel and they are absolutely lovely and very gracious and welcoming.

The comfortable rooms are basic, but the views are more than make up for it. My husband likes a firmer mattress, but I found the memory foam to be comfortable. I wish we would have stayed longer, as the hotel is next to the start of Gaularfjellet National Tourist Route which would have been great to see.

We stayed in a very nice, comfortable, clean cabin with a newly remodeled bathroom with a heated floor. There were cooking facilities in the cabin but we chose to eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel next door. The dinners were fabulous- loved the chef’s cooking. Breakfast had everything imaginable and kept our belly’s full for the day. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. We had hiking trails close by. Beds were very comfortable and cozy. The view from the hotel and cabin overlooking the fjord is spectacular- a fairy tale view. A bus stop was right in front of the hotel so could visit Balestrand in 10 minutes. Hiking in Balestrand ( we had sunshine) was beautiful.

I can’t think of anything

The location is serene and gorgeous. We had a cabin which looked out on fjord. It was mesmerizing. The staff was terrific. The breakfast excellent. We also ate dinner at hotel 2 nights and it too was excellent.

The hotel is about 6 miles from town of Balestrand around the fjord. You would need a car or arrange transportation with hotel staff who are very accommodating to get to town and ferry. There is also bus service a few times a day.

Absolutely stunning location with amazing view of the fjord on both sides of the hotel, very good rooms with comfortable beds and nice chairs, and a restaurant where they serve a great breakfast (included in our rate) as well as dinner (paid separately). The restaurant had easily the best dinner we had in Norway, offering delicious vegetarian options as well. Very friendly staff, EV chargers available directly at the hotel. Loved this place and we'd definitely enjoy coming back sometime, maybe for a stay in one of the fjordside cabins they also offer!

The wonderful family who have owned this property for generations ~ first as a farm then gradually as a peaceful beautiful respite ~ an escape to the fresh air and quiet country life. We participated in ceremonies of their National Day ~ walking in a parade to church, singing at a school and senior's home. Our accommodation was so comfortable, meals delicious and presented beautifully.

That we cannot live here!

Wonderful boutique hotel that is family owned and run. Friendly and welcoming staff! Spacious rooms with separate living room and kitchenette. Unbelievable views of the fjord and mountains through floor to ceiling windows. The hotel was quiet and relaxing. Beautiful area around the hotel and on a nice sunny day lots of places to sit outside. Nice buffet breakfast with good selection to choose from and also eggs to order. Also, the restaurant was open for dinner and the food was excellent. Highly recommend this property!

I had a huge room all to myself with amazing views of the fjords on two sides! The room and facilities were very clean and the breakfast was wonderful. I also highly recommend dining in their restaurant. The food was incredible and the staff were very kind. I loved that it was located in a quiet area but not far from Balestrand. I can't recommend this place enough!

The bedding could have been softer.

Excellent service and food going above and beyond expectation. Fantastic views of the fjord and decent comfortable rooms. The driver will pick you up and drop you off at the ferry station for a fee, or take the bus stopping right in front of the hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff! Lots to do and see especially in the cute village of Balestrand and connections to ferries to glaciers and fjords.

A bit distant from Balestrand so careful planning is needed to make the ferry on time!

ALL. This is the best hotel during my travel around Norway. This is a family owned hotel so you can feel the personal touch in everything. Magnar and one girl (too bad I didn’t ask her name :() are amazing hosts, so friendly and resourceful. At the day when I left, I couldn’t have breakfast in the hotel bc I had to catch my bus early in the morning, the girl packed me a breakfast with a cup of coffee too, simply extra mile service! The location is uber scenic and quiet and peaceful. The room is comfortable and has seating area with big glass window facing the fjord, and during stay I (and other guests too) are able to see the northern lights (and some shooting stars too!)! It was so magical and unexpected because Dragsvik is not that north, but at night it was so dark and less light, so it is perfect place if the northern light is so strong. Lastly, the breakfast has so many variety and the dinner are exquisite. Try to have dinner in the hotel, you won’t regret at all.

The entire staff was extremely nice and helpful in any request!!! Very friendly at any time. Excellent breakfast and dinner! Beautiful panorama view! Parking was very convenient in front of the hotel. Very close from the ferry station so easy to reach.

No airconditions in the rooms which was during this exceptional heat wave a challenge.
