The facilities are beautiful (historic) and it's truly a luxury hotel. They have a lovely bar off the lobby and high-end steak restaurant onsite. On Sundays, they serve an amazing brunch. In addition, there is also a nice, outdoor bar with tvs and individual, cozy conversation sets with table firepits. The location is great. Right across the street from the train station which goes into NYC and right down the street from downtown Garden City which has lovely shops and great restaurants.

We stayed on the penthouse floor, which allows you access to an executive lounge. The room is stocked with hot and cold beverages, snacks (bake goods, yogurt, chips, etc.), but they close this lounge from Friday night until mid-day Sunday "for servicing", which I believe they do so because there are a lot of weddings at the hotel so they don't want wedding parties eating and drinking in abundance and hanging in the room. TO BE FAIR... because of this inconvenience, the hotel provided us with vouchers to use at the lobby bar for one drink and one cheese plate per person.

I have never stayed at this hotel in my life and I have lived in long island my whole life.... when I say this hotel deserves TEN STARS!!!! It's the best! The customer service was 🔥 the rooms are BEAUTIFUL and spacious, they even have a personal loung on SITE of the hotel, a store that they open up for you within the hotel when requested and they have a restaurant!!! Their Valet staff are professional and everyone treats you with respect. The beds are comfortable out of this world! I cant WAIT to stay here again and i HIGHLY recommend this hotel to EVERYONE!!! GREAT JOB GARDEN CITY HOTEL!!!

There was nothing to not like

It was beautiful. I should have been told about the extra for incidentals when I booked through Booking.com, because I thought everything was included. This experience helped me understand my Kingdom position in society. Love the guys in valet parking so accommodating because I was in and out several times and I didn’t tip them until just before I departed. The bellhops (?) were very helpful to me when I arrived, I forgot cash so I didn’t have any tip money to tip the young man who brought my luggage up (Daniel?) and didn’t think to ask about his CashApp.

No dislikes on my part.

Location was excellent. Room was pleasant and comfortable. It had everything I needed. Staff were very good from the doormen, to reception to bar staff. Good work!

There should have been some sort of buffet breakfast as part of price. Even if it was just coffee and pastries. Having to buy these on top was a little annoying. Also, the Patio bar was barely open while I was there and shut at 10pm with a full hotel in summer?? This seemed missed opportunity. The main bar was pleasant but again, closed very early.

Nicest hotel I have seen in the area by far; Very convenient access by car; nice location; perfectly decent room with my most important features while traveling, clean, a good desk, a good TV, decent bathroom and comfortable bed; front desk clerk very pleasant on arrival.

Valet parking advertised, but not available after 11:00 pm; restaurants not open for lunch; no one to assist with unloading luggage and getting luggage to room when I arrived at 12:30 am.

I loved how close the hotel was to all the restaurants, train station, and the library! It made it easy to plan my day and get to the places I needed to get to without a hassle. There was also plenty of parking for my car!

The price was a bit high especially since the facilities weren't updated to the most modern types - more specifically the bathroom. But this wasn't too bad. Just that they could use some upkeep.

You can take the long island railroad with luggage and walk to the hotel it is that close and it's a lovely walk across the street. They have absolutely everything you could want or need at the hotel and it is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely book your spa appointments ahead of time that is no pop in service :-). Anthony, Luis, Jillian, Connie SO SO good at what they do, thank you! There are so many little outdoor spaces, the patio bar is a little garden bar with live music & cocktails, there are Adirondack chairs and picnic tables in the grass all by themselves. Dinner at the King Bar was sublime and I didn't get to experience the Speakeasy Whiskey Bar but if you go in the winter I would say go, it sounds like so much fun!

This is such a minor odd thing but the shower is narrow, I'm not huge and I bumped my elbow on the shampoo bottles, my butt or hip on the soap dish/ grab rail and the shower curtain won't stay open, it keeps sliding to the center of the rail. There is zero sound proofing on the door leading to the hallway so if you have a noisy neighbor and you are a light sleeper you will hear it!

A beautiful hotel with every amenity you could need, or that you didn't think you needed but did! The staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable, and always attentive. The hotel grounds and surrounding town were absolutely stunning, each showing off it's summer splendor. Garden City is aptly named!

Regrettably, we were there for only 2 days but plan to come back to enjoy all that the hotel, town, and Long Island have to offer!

Great hotel - breakfast ( buffet style) was quite expensive - $100 for two(2) people - if you requested eggs to order add an additional $8 to the $100 price - our breakfast cost almost as much as our dinner the evening before which included three(3) cocktail drinks - dinner was $115. Again, great hotel - price$ for breakfast not so great.

The King Bar and Red Salt Restaurant are truly exceptional. Every single member of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. This is the only hotel we will consider when staying in the area.
