This is our second Camino arrival to Santiago and we liked this choice much more than the previous. The room was huge and tastefully decorated (seating area and bed area.) We had a view of the street below and there were no noise issues from below. We did not have breakfast there since there were local choices. The location is perfect since it is just a few steps from the Cathedral (got to the 7:30PM pilgrims Mass at 6:30PM and the Cathedral was already 3/4 full for Mass!) The front desk staff are very nice and gave us a good choice for our next day dinner selection (and they made the reservation the day before for us!) We walked the next day to the train station rather than taking a taxi (we were familiar with the simple straight route to the station).

Hotel Rua Villar is perfectly located next to the Cathedral Square, 1 minute walk and you are at the Cathedral. I stayed here for one night to extend my stay in Santiago after completing Camino!. Hotel has perfect location, as well as being very close to Cathedral also within easy reach of several restaurants & shops. Hotel reception staff made me feel welcomed straight away when I checked in plus each time I either exited or returned to the hotel. I had a spacious room on top floor. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent plenty of choice. Would happily stay here again.

The property is in a fantastic location in Santiago with Santiago cathedral right beside it and is beautiful throughout, this along with some of the best staff I’ve come across made my stay in Santiago very relaxing. The hotel has a lift making it ideal for people of all ages. The property has a 24hr car park organised where they will pay a percentage of the overall fee. This carpark is only a few mins walk to the hotel and has a police station right beside it making it very safe and trusting.

Great location. Hotel had a lot of charm, one of our walls was stone. Shutters and double doors made room quiet overnight despite central location.

Parking is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel (located in pedestrian area). Cost with hotel discount approximately €35 for 2 days. Rolling a suitcase over cobble stones may be difficult for some. Hotel makes sure you are fully aware of the parking situation (provides exact GPS directions), but it might an issue for some people.

The hotel is right next to the cathedral. It was a perfect end to our Camino walk. The staff were professional and the check in was easy. My friend had her backpack transported to the hotel that day and the staff placed it in her room for her so it was ready for when she arrived. They kindly informed us of a parade later that evening, although we were too tired to make it. I love the historic feel and look of the place. We could see the top of the cathedral from our window.

Exceptional hotel right in the heart of the old town and just around the corner from the cathedral. Staff all very pleasant. The hotel itself was renovated recently but kept much of its old charm. Nice common area on the 2nd floor to relax/read. Room was perfect, nice size for a solo traveller and both it and the bathroom were spotless. Breakfast was plentiful with hot (even scrambled eggs) and cold buffet food options. Would 100% stay here again if im ever doing the Camino

In the perfect location, old town, close to the cathedral, but quiet at night. The building is historical, the hotel personable, and the room and bed were comfortable. What sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service. The front desk staff is a 24 hour concierge, restaurant advice, sightseeing info, taxis, whatever one needs. I had an issue booking a last minute train ticket to Madrid, and Sandra did not give up until my problem was solved, despite several obstacles. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, and will book here again when in Santiago.

This was a great hotel! We finished the camino in Santiago de Compostela and the hotel is just a few hundred feet from the cathedral on a picture-perfect street in the old part of the city. Perfect location! The woman who checked us in was very helpful and kind. The room and bathroom were very clean, nicely appointed, attractive and comfortable. Very pleased with this choice.

The hotel uses these heavy keys and keychains that you leave at the front desk every time you leave the hotel. An electronic key card system would be a nice upgrade.

The property was very easy to find and a great location (barely a minute walk to the cathedral) and right in the centre of the town. The facilities were well kept and clean, with staff being friendly and willing to help. Upon check out they also provide the option to leave bags with them which is very convenient if you have a later flight out, and can make the most of your day without carrying luggage around.

As it’s a older building while it’s been done up really well the floors are quite noisy so if the room above is occupied, we could hear when it was being cleaned or people walking about or furniture being moved. It was not a big inconvenience for us as we were out of the hotel most of the day.

An 18th century building sensitively converted to very comfortable hotel standards. Our Superior double was incredibly spacious and quadruple glazed to ensure no disturbance from the street. 5 min walk from the Cathedral’s southern entrance, you couldn’t really be more central. Fabulously helpful staff helped us hire a car for a day trip (it came to the hotel door) and airport taxi. Great breakfast. All the staff were so lovely.
